Total suspended matter (TSM) is an important parameter of the water environment. Because of the optical complexity in water body, it is difficult to accurately invert the TSM concentration by current traditional methods. In this paper, using Sentinel-2 remote sensing images as the data source combined with measured data, taking Wuliangsu Lake as the study area, a new intelligent algorithm combining the adaptive ant colony exhaustive optimization algorithm (A-ACEO) feature selection method with genetic algorithm (GA) optimized back propagation neural network (BPNN) model (GA-BP) is proposed for inversion of TSM concentration. The ant colony algorithm (ACO) is improved to select remote sensing feature bands for TSM concentration by introducing relevant optimization strategies. The GA-BP model is built by optimizing BPNN using GA with the selected feature bands as input and comparing with the traditional BPNN model. The results show that using feature bands selected by the presented A-ACEO algorithm as inputs, can effectively reduce complexity and improve inversion performance of the model, under the condition of the same model, which can provide valuable references for monitoring the TSM concentration in Wuliangsu Lake. © 2023, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as small airborne base stations is gradually becoming a research hotspot in the field of wireless communications. With the flexible deployment, wide coverage and low cost, UAV communications show great potential in the fields of emergency rescue, environmental monitoring and military operations. In particular, the easier availability of line-of-sight (LOS) links for UAVs makes its combination with millimetre wave (mmWave) technology significantly enhance the communication bandwidth and data transfer rate. However, the very limited coverage of mmWave communications greatly affects the actual data rates provided by small aerial base stations of mmWave UAVs, especially considering user movement on the ground. In this paper, we study the joint optimisation problem of UAV deployment, user association, spectrum resource allocation in millimetre-wave heterogeneous networks, and explore the impact of different user movement models on system performance. Given that this problem is NP-hard, our paper proposes an MCR-SAC method to maximize the network's total throughput. Simulation results demonstrate an average 18% improvement in total transmission rate compared to the conventional. © 2024 IEEE.

VGIS (Virtual Geographic information System) Platform is a unified oilfield operations management platform based on MaaS (Management as a Service) that integrates advanced technologies such as AIoT (Artificial Intelligence & Internet of Things), GIS (Geographic information System), Digital Twin, and AR (Augmented Reality)/ VR (Virtual Reality). The VGIS platform connects, collects, integrates, analyses, and acts on disparate data sources to provide the oilfield with a centralized view to help make informed decisions fast, bring operational visibility across all assets to improve safety and operational efficiency, reduce costs and improve margins, provide comprehensive analytics and decision support, increase business agility, and reduce management complexity. This is a case study of the application of the VGIS platform Majnoon oilfield, Basrah, Iraq. VGIS digital transformation, production process, and KPIs (Key performance indicators) are highly managed taking oilfield management to a higher level globally, in this study, the objective is to address and resolve the issue of high costs associated with using cloud services by utilising a local Data Center (a large group of networked computer servers typically used by organizations for the remote storage, processing, or distribution of large amounts of data). This approach involves directly uploading 3D maps to ensure faster service on the intranet, eliminating the need to pay for cloud *** aims providing a platform for researching and implementing monitoring and controlling processes in a more convenient and remote manner. The vGIS platform has emerged as a crucial instrument in the realm of disaster response and crisis management. This technology enables responders to rapidly evaluate, analyse, and respond to crucial information in real-time. This research examined the application of vGIS technology in disaster response and analyse the potential advantages and obstacles associated with its utilisation. © 2

Dementia is considered a Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), representing a blurred transition from normal cognitive function to dementia. MCI might be a precursor to dementia being caused by various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, stroke, metabolic disorders, and mental health conditions. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 55 million people worldwide are suffering from dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases each year. This number is expected to rise to 78 million by 2030. Numerous studies have proposed various training methods targeting specific cognitive domains in dementia. For instance, reminiscence therapy encourages individuals to recall buried memories, while reality orientation therapy focuses on strengthening orientation cues to help patients with dementia establish a stronger sense of control. With aging, changes occur in cognitive and physical functions. Research suggests that memory functions can be improved through training. Therefore, the primary goal of this study was to develop an Extended Reality (XR) cognitive system to assist MCI patients in enhancing logical thinking, increasing independence in daily life, and improving response accuracy. The application of extended reality technology in the medical field is expanding, covering areas such as surgical assistance, medical consultation, disease treatment, and medical training. We integrated mixed reality devices with brain-computer interface (BCI) equipment. By detecting brainwave signals in the frontal region of the brain through sensors, neural activity was quantified, and digital brainwave data was transmitted to the system. This data was then visualized on screen in real-time to analyze changes in brainwave data during training. Through multifaceted task training, the system enhanced cognitive response and sensory perception, stimulating brain activity with the goal of strengthening cognitive functions. © 2024 IEEE.

Fuzzy-rule-decided small cell offloading for rate-adaptive SVC-DASH video streaming over the vehicle environment

This paper proposed an SVC-DASH video streaming method over the vehicular environment based on the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) architecture. For the streaming concern, a control scheme using the Segment-Set-based buffer-aware bitrate adaptation with the backward quality's increment control was proposed;for the mobility concern, a Small Cell Video Streaming Offloading (SC–VSO) control scheme adopting the multiple attribute fuzzy-based decision for deciding whether it can offload the video streaming traffic from a macro cell to a small cell or not was proposed. To have the suitable bitrate adaptation and stable quality variation, three factors that the proposed streaming control scheme considers are (i) estimated bandwidth, (ii) buffer occupancy and (iii) quality variation. Since the vehicle is moving across many types of Base Stations (BSs), the proposed mobility control scheme can decide whether to have SC-VSO or not before vehicle X entering into the ahead small cell's signal coverage based on (i) the network situations of the corresponding macro and small cell and (ii) the reported context from vehicle X using the proposed fuzzy logic mechanism. The performance evaluation results shown that the proposed method has the higher video quality and better quality stability for video streaming over the vehicle environment. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

In order to solve the problem of low accuracy of remote sensing target detection caused by insufficient feature representation, complex background and diversified scales in remote sensing image target detection task, a remote sensing image target detection algorithm based on DDM-YOLOv8s (DySample DASI-MODSConvYOLOv8s) model was proposed. First, a super lightweight and efficient dynamic upper sampler DySample is used to improve the image resolution of the algorithm without adding additional burden. Secondly, the new C2f_DASI module is constructed by using the dimensional awareness selective integration module DASI and C2f, and the adaptive channel selection and fusion are realized in the feature fusion module, which effectively solves the complex background problem in remote sensing images;Finally, the head part is redesigned by Maintaining the Original information - dept. Separable Convolution MODSConv, which maintains as much feature layer information as possible before prediction, so that the extracted features contain more correlation information, greatly improving the detection accuracy and speed. The experimental results on RSOD datasets show that the test mAP of the improved YOLOv8s algorithm is 94.5%, which proves that this method can effectively improve the detection accuracy of small targets in remote sensing images. © 2024 IEEE.

Responding to inefficiencies in traditional classroom management methods, this paper proposes an innovative, technology-driven approach to enhance educational processes. Central to our proposal is the development of a facial recognition system designed for efficient student attendance tracking, thus eliminating time-consuming roll calls. Additionally, we plan to introduce interactive whiteboard features to enrich classroom dynamics between students and faculty. However, our approach extends beyond mere attendance tracking and interactive learning. We aim to launch a Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) mapper. Leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, this tool will auto-align CLOs with PLOs, facilitating a more efficient curriculum development process. We also suggest implementing a feature powered by YOLOv5 to monitor and assess student attention in the classroom. Our comprehensive suite of tools is designed to equip educators with resources to refine their teaching strategies and boost student learning outcomes. By integrating facial recognition for attendance, interactive whiteboard features, NLP-based CLO/PLO mapping, and attention monitoring, we aspire to provide a robust solution enabling educators to adapt their teaching methods to students' unique needs. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper we will look at how quantum computers solve problems used in modern cryptographic systems, and what post-quantum cryptographic systems exist. We focus on the scheme, that developed in the direction of multivariate cryptography. Our paper presents a symmetric cryptosystem in a finite field utilizing a matrix Amxn and its right inverse Bnxm for m > n. This property of matrices, particularly evident when the dimensions are equal m = n, is actively used in AES. This utilization involves matrix transformations integral to the SubBytes() and InvSubBytes() functions. Moreover, a similar design principle is employed in the O'zDSt 1105:2006 data encryption algorithm, where it constitutes essential components of the AralashHolat() and TesAralashHolat() transformations. Additionally, we introduce a one-way function based on a special matrix with a zero determinant in a finite field, a concept not currently existing in asymmetric cryptography within our scheme. This approach fortifies defenses, diversifies cryptosystems, and addresses current vulnerabilities. We delve into matrix based asymmetric algorithms in finite fields, seeking to fortify our digital realm against the quantum unknown. This research promises post-quantum security, aligns with existing cryptographic abstractions, and fosters agility in an evolving landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

Based on the MPXV Clade IIb cases in Taiwan, 175 segments were identified from OPG001 to OPG210. The first focus of this paper is on sequence analysis of the MPXV cases in Taiwan, detailing the procedures, including semi-automated segmentation and dataset creation from a large number of MPXV Clade IIb nucleotide sequences found in the NCBI and GISAID databases. The second feature highlights the pioneering establishment of an MPXV Clade IIb RNA 2nd structure image dataset in Taiwan, as such a dataset does not yet exist globally. The third characteristic involves the use of unsupervised learning methods for the rapid clustering of MPXV Clade IIb RNA 2nd structure images. This approach allows not only for the quick detection and clustering of unknown MPXV Clade IIb cases but also for the rapid identification of new MPXV mutations and structural changes. Compared to traditional sequence analysis, this new hybrid systematic method significantly enhances overall efficiency, improving processing speed by at least 24 hours when handling the alignment of 10 MPXV sequences from Taiwan. Future plans include using this prototype analytical model and method to accelerate the analysis of critical lethal factors in MPXV Clade IIb, such as D14L, ultimately helping biologists reduce the time required for analysis and antiviral drug development. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Compared with traditional computing devices, IoT devices are often smaller in size, resulting in weaker battery power, memory, and computing power. Additionally, IoT devices have a higher frequency of data exchange and require high-speed computation on limited platforms. Traditional cryptographic algorithms are unable to handle this task, and lightweight cryptographic algorithms have become the optimal choice for IoT devices. This paper takes a thorough sight into lightweight block cipher development, elaborates on six structures of the algorithms, and analyzes their indicators based on different implementation methods. Finally, the attack research status and implementation performance on both soft/hardware platform of each algorithm are reviewed, and the efficiency of their software and hardware implementation is compared. © 2024 SPIE.
