Diabetes is a chronic disease whose timely and accurate diagnosis will prevent serious complications from health. This paper explores using iridology principles in a deep learning method to detect diabetes from retinal images in order to streamline the process and automate the procedure. The objective here is to create a non-invasive procedure for early and reliable detection of the disease. Deep learning in medical imaging is the new way to interfere with conventional modes of diagnostics. The retinal imaging is non-invasive and has, over the years, been put to use in medical examinations, and its potential is now absolutely being utilized in the early diagnosis of diabetes. A retinal analysis that is based on principles, integrating them into iridology, concentrating on the patterns and signs portrayed in the iris for possible reflections of a general health condition, is aimed at achieving earlier indications of diabetes in a more effortless and rapid way. Models such as ResNet50, ResNet101, and EfficientNetB7 were precious but actually, it was InceptionV3 that delivered a great accuracy of 97.14%. This result proves the feasibility application of InceptionV3 for diagnosing diabetes in the early stages, thus eventually providing an easy and non-invasive way of moving forward to better health. © 2025 IEEE.

Proficiency in mathematics is essential for both academic and professional success, yet many students find the subject difficult, especially when preparing for important exams like Sri Lanka's General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) Ordinary Level examination. In Sri Lanka, the students show poor pass rates in Ordinary Level mathematics examination. In order to improve mathematics education for O/L students, this research suggests an innovative mobile application that makes use of adaptive learning strategies. This application features components like a comprehensive knowledge bank that is curriculum-mapped, pre-assessment tools for identifying knowledge shortages, a weaknesses based lesson recommendation for personalized lesson suggestions, a custom developed chat assistant to interact with the knowledge bank, interactive 3D visualizations and justifications of complex concepts, and platforms for problem-solving, writing, and time management skill development. The suggested adaptive learning strategy makes use of multimedia tools and datadriven insights to tailor instruction to each student's unique needs, improving math comprehension and readiness for the O/L examination in Sri Lanka. © 2024 IEEE.

Climate forecasting plays a critical role in understanding and mitigating the impacts of climate change. Advances in machine learning (ML) have significantly enhanced the accuracy of climate projections, particularly when dealing with large and complex datasets derived from regional climate models (RCMs) and global climate models (GCMs). This study investigates the application of various ML techniques for predicting precipitation based on temperature data extracted from climate datasets. We evaluate a range of regression models, including linear models and advanced ensemble methods such as Gradient Boosting and XGBoost, along with deep learning approaches like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). Through a rigorous evaluation of these models, we focus on their performance as measured by Mean Squared Error (MSE) to identify the most effective techniques for capturing the intricate relationships within climate data. By analyzing existing studies and performance metrics, we aim to provide insights into the capabilities and limitations of these ML models in improving climate predictions. Furthermore, this research highlights the need for incorporating additional climate variables and optimizing model configurations to enhance predictive accuracy in climate forecasting. © 2025 IEEE.

Accurately predicting long-term crop yield trends remains a crucial challenge in optimizing agricultural practices and ensuring food security. This paper proposes a novel framework that merges real-time data acquired from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors with a Bi-directional LSTM model with an attention mechanism to achieve this objective. This architecture extracts insights from historical and future environmental conditions and prioritizes critical factors influencing yield through attention weighting. The framework incorporates an ESP32-managed sensor network measuring humidity, temperature, moisture, rainfall, and NPK levels, providing a continuous stream of real-time field data. Evaluation of real-world datasets demonstrates the framework's superiority over traditional methods, yielding significantly higher prediction accuracy and exposing key drivers of yield fluctuations through attention analysis. An accessible API facilitates seamless integration with farm management systems, empowering farmers with data-driven decision-making capabilities. This paper highlights the transformative potential of integrating deep learning, real-time IoT data, and APIs for revolutionizing agriculture, paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient agricultural futur. © 2024 IEEE.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) significantly impacts patient quality of life and is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. This paper introduces an innovative algorithm for diagnosing acid-base disorders in COPD patients, incorporating traditional and advanced methodologies like the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation and Bedside Stewart Method. The algorithm enhances the accuracy and speed of Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis, crucial for COPD management. We present a comprehensive approach that includes a Gamblegram for visualizing acid-base balance and a sophisticated system architecture employing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for efficient ABG report processing. Our findings demonstrate the algorithm's efficacy in providing rapid, detailed analysis, markedly reducing treatment initiation time. This advancement holds significant potential in revolutionizing COPD patient care by improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment strategies for acid-base disorders. © 2024 IEEE.

If adversaries were to obtain quantum computers in the future, their massive computing power would likely break existing security schemes. Since security is a continuous process, more substantial security schemes must be developed. Current PQC schemes primarily focus on data security or key exchange, and further improvement towards enhanced PQC primitives is required. Our proposal in this research is an innovative paradigm for PQC-focused cloud data security. The proposed HEDT approach achieves encryption and decryption with significantly lower latency (20% improvement) and higher reliability than AES, DES, and RSA, as demonstrated through experimental results. Furthermore, ECSIDH, a hybrid key exchange mechanism combining SIDH and ECDH, improves security strength by 50% while maintaining computational costs within 1.13x of SIDH. Compared to individual key exchange schemes like SIDH, ECSIDH offers superior security as a PQC candidate. These results confirm the robustness and efficiency of the proposed framework in ensuring secure data outsourcing and key exchange in cloud environments. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Website Fingerprinting (WF) is a statistical traffic analysis attack, that allows a local, passive eavesdropper to determine a client’s web activity by leveraging features from her packet sequence. These attacks break the privacy expected by users of Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs). The basic idea of this kind of attack is to derive a website’s fingerprints from traffic and observed patterns, which can be followed when a website is visited. A library of website fingerprints is created for many interesting websites. This library of previously recorded fingerprints is then compared with the traffic patterns, which could be observed if some anonymization service is used. This lets the attacker learn which websites are downloaded, even if all traffic is encrypted. In this paper, the attack was implemented against the offered protection by a specific anonymization system to reproduce the results reported in the literature. We achieved over 94% accuracy when applied on a new set of monitored sites. Finally, a new suggested cost-effective countermeasure was proposed, reducing the success of those attacks to less than 50%. © 2024 IEEE.

Sri Lanka faces significant air pollution challenges, primarily from vehicular emissions, posing serious public health risks and impacting the quality of life. To address this, we developed a real-time air quality monitoring system that visualizes pollution data through an interactive heatmap. Our system integrates gas sensors that measure methane (CH4), carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and particulate matter (PM.), connected to an ESP32 board and Wi-Fi module, and strategically deployed around smart buildings. The collected data is transmitted to a central hub using IoT technology and visualized on a mobile app developed with Flutter, featuring a color-coded scheme to represent pollution levels. This allows users to easily identify high-risk areas and select cleaner routes for travel. In testing, we focused on predicting PM. concentrations in Colombo using machine learning models, including Random Forest, XGBoost, and Prophet. Random Forest excelled in PM. prediction, while Prophet was highly effective for CO, demonstrating machine learning's potential in air quality forecasting. The system also includes a MIMI Air device that collects, processes, and transmits air quality data every 30 seconds, alerting users in real-time when pollutants exceed WHO thresholds, providing a cost-effective, reliable solution for public health. © 2024 IEEE.

Cloud computing is the most emerging technology. It has the capability to provide various services like infrastructure, security, data management, databases, and network over the internet. Several cloud service providers in the market provide computing resources. Cloud brokering in cloud computing is a crucial part as it acts as a middleware between cloud users and cloud services providers. In this paper we aim to provide an overview on adaptive data management middleware for cloud brokers. To manage the heterogeneous data and other factors, policy-based task scheduling can be integrated with the cloud broker, which supports dynamic data placement and takes decisions and actions at the runtime considering the SLA (service level agreements) and QoS (quality of service) requirements without any manual involvement. By aggregation of data, the next task of scheduling and assigning priority will be taken carefully. At the end service requests should be fulfilled by utilizing minimum resources. © 2024 IEEE.

The maintenance and enhancement of dynamic soil characteristics are the primary focus of soil management in agriculture to increase crop productivity. Higher productivity may result from efficient soil control of resources and corrective micronutrient treatments. Using CNN and 'KNN' algorithms, the 'soil land classification and crop prediction system' application was created. In this study, two datasets are used: one to obtain crop prediction and the other for soil land categorization. The kind of soils are trained using CNN ('VGG- 19') algorithm, and the accuracy of the model is calculated. The trained model is then utilized in the Flask web app to forecast the type of soil. Another data set with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, pH, and temperature as features and the class type of crop as a label is used to forecast crop production. These two algorithms are used to create the flask website, which accepts inputs such as soil picture, soil type prediction, and land parameter inputs for crop prediction. © 2024 IEEE.
