This research explores the transformative potential of wearable devices designed to automatically detect & predict epileptic seizures, offering continuous monitoring & early detection capabilities. The study focuses on developing a machine learning model tailored for seizure detection in such devices, leveraging multimodal sensors such as Electrodermal Activity (EDA) & Accelerometer (ACC). By measuring skin resistance and identifying irregular heartbeats, which are signs of upcoming seizures, these sensors allow for precise seizure detection. The study intends to demonstrate the effectiveness of this machine learning model in wearable technology with the goal of improving patient outcomes and seizure management. © 2024 IEEE.

The process of a supply chain involves a series of activities that distribute, assemble, and manage products, transferring them from the supplier to the end consumer. It operates as a complex, interconnected network regulated by supply and demand. Security in supply chain management is a crucial aspect of its overall security measures, focusing primarily on maintaining essential end-to-end protection. Without this, several attacks can be used to manipulate data and valuable information from the entire chain of networks. This paper explains how encrypted intermediates can secure the entire SCM by validating each intermediate using public-private key encryption. We also demonstrate and assess how the proposed AAF-SCM model can aid in tracing security breaches or unauthorized data tampering. We also validate this model against nefarious attacks like Fabrication, Assertion, Deletion, and Modification. Finally, we propose opportunities to develop innovative systems that enhance security through intermediary steps. © 2024 IEEE.

SLAM enables Robots and UAVs to effectively understand unknown surroundings and estimate their own position within those environments. Recent advancements in 2D mapping have significantly increased its popularity for navigation tasks, primarily because it is easier to generate and requires less computational power compared to 3D mapping. This paper provides a comparison of two widely used ROS-based 2D SLAM libraries: Google Cartographer and Hector SLAM, deployed on a custom built UAV that uses 2D LiDAR, and finds Hector SLAM to be more feature rich as well as computationally efficient. © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of robotics and autonomous systems, efficient path planning is a critical aspect for optimizing resource utilization and achieving mission objectives. This study explores the application of Ant Colony Optimized (ACO) algorithms to enhance the efficiency of robots in navigating and exploring unknown environments. Inspired by the foraging behavior of ants, ACO algorithms are employed to find the shortest paths by leveraging pheromone communication and decentralized decision-making. Ant Colony Optimization is then introduced as a bio-inspired solution to address these challenges. The experimental results demonstrate the capability of the ACO algorithm to efficiently explore complex environments, adapt to changes in the surroundings, and converge to optimal paths. Insights gained from these analyses contribute to the refinement of the ACO algorithm for diverse robotic applications. The findings of this research have practical implications for the development of autonomous robots operating in real-world scenarios, such as search and rescue missions, environmental monitoring, and surveillance. This study provides a valuable foundation for the integration of bio-inspired algorithms in robotics, advancing the state-of-the-art in autonomous exploration and path planning. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper aims at filling this gap through dissecting the applicability of the Generative AI in the current learning and teaching system. The paper offers an introduction to Generative AI technologies: GPT and DALL-E, and describes the chronological history and current progress of its educational applications. Other objectives include discussing about the uses of Generative AI in adaptive learning environment, smart learning systems, automation of organizational work and in talented minds improvement. Analyzing key successful AI cases, the paper reveals the challenges implementers encountered, and provides debates about the appropriate practices of AI. Research evidence points to the prospect of Generative AI benefiting students and educators in teaching and learning, which indicates the innovative potential of the technology, yet at the same time reveals the potential risks and challenges that need to be addressed concerning the ethical and privacy implications of Generative AI in education. Women in computing were among the first programmers in the early 20th century and were substantial contributors to the industry. Today, men dominate the software engineering industry. Research and data show that women are far less likely to pursue a career in this industry, and those that do are less likely than men to stay in it. Reasons for women and other underrepresented minorities to leave the industry are a lack of opportunities for growth and advancement, unfair treatment and workplace culture. This research explores how the potential to cultivate or uphold an industry unfavourable to women and non-binary individuals manifests in software engineering education at the university level. For this purpose, the study includes surveys and interviews. We use gender name perception as a survey instrument, and the results show small differences in perceptions of software engineering students based on their gender. Particularly, the survey respondents anchor the values of the male software engineer (Hans) to a variety of technical and non-technical skills, while the same description for a female software engineer (Hanna) is anchored mainly by her managerial skills. With interviews with women and non-binary students, we gain insight on the main barriers to their sense of ambient belonging. The collected data shows that some known barriers from the literature such as tokenism, and stereotype threat, do still exist. However, we find positive factors such as role models and encouragement that strengthen the sense of belonging among these students. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

In this work, we propose a comprehensive framework for speech emotion recognition that combines advanced data augmentation techniques and an innovative deep learning architecture to enhance model performance. Our data augmentation strategies, including noise addition, time stretching, pitch shifting, and time shifting, significantly diversify the training dataset, leading to improved generalization and robustness against real-world variations in speech. We introduce a novel deep learning model architecture based on Anti-Aliased Convolutional (AA-Conv1D) layers, which preserves spatial hierarchies and enhances the model's ability to capture fine-grained emotional nuances in speech signals. Experimental results demonstrate that our model outperforms state-of-the-art methods, achieving a weighted accuracy of 79.38%, which surpasses the performance of existing models, SepTr + LeRaC and EMix-NS. © 2025 IEEE.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are highly implemented in harsh and dynamic environments. In such configurations, faults and anomalies easily occur, causing unwanted disruptions in data accuracy and network performance. In the context of reliability and stability in WSN operations, effective fault detection techniques are vital. This research work discusses how several machine learning models may be applied, including Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and K-Nearest Neighbors in order to detect fault in WSNs. The performance evaluation was performed based on major criteria, which are accuracy, precision, recall, and Fl score. This, therefore, makes these approaches to machine learning effective in identifying faults efficiently, hence offering a well-balanced solution that is scalable and robust for integrity and operational effectiveness of WSN s. © 2024 IEEE.
