Swap-based placement algorithms have gained significant attention in recent years due to their effectiveness in improving the quality of placement solutions. This paper presents a comprehensive study of swap-based detailed placement algorithms for standard cell design, highlighting their principles, advantages, challenges, and recent advancements.
