Fog computing is a rapidly evolving domain within information technology and enterprise computing, providing organisations with the opportunity to greatly improve efficiency and productivity. This is particularly pertinent in developing countries, where effective resource utilisation is critical. Despite its potential, there has been limited research on the factors influencing the adoption of fog computing in Saudi Arabia, as well as the associated benefits and challenges. This study seeks to fill this gap by examining the various factors, advantages, and obstacles related to fog computing adoption within Saudi Arabian public organisations. To address the absence of a context-specific model, we employed a mixed-methods approach, gathering qualitative data through semi-structured interviews with 15 IT managers, revealing that complexity was the sole factor hindering adoption. Quantitative data was then collected from 665 IT managers and employees to validate the framework’s constructs, showing that privacy, complexity, awareness, and senior management support were insignificant among 12 factors in influencing adoption intention. The quantitative analysis complements these findings, indicating that while the majority of factors significantly influence the adoption process, a portion of the factors were found to be insignificant. Findings from both qualitative and quantitative analyses highlight the importance of technical, organisational, environmental, and financial contexts in the adoption process. These insights provide valuable guidance for IT managers in the Saudi public sector, emphasising the need to consider these factors comprehensively to achieve successful fog computing implementation. © 2025 Proceedings of the International Conferences IADIS Information Systems 2025 and e-Society 2025. Network Address Translation (NAT) is widely used to map private IP addresses to public ones, offering anonymity that not only benefits legitimate users by protecting their internal IP addresses but also poses a challenge by enabling malicious users to obscure their identities during cyber-attacks. Identifying the actual host behind NAT involved in such activities is critical for effective forensic analysis. In this study, we introduce a novel, passive, and non-intrusive technique that leverages ensemble machine learning (ML) to pinpoint and characterize malicious hosts behind NAT. By analyzing network traffic patterns at the flow level, our method successfully penetrates the veil of anonymity NAT provides. Designed to be operating system-agnostic and independent of IP addresses, our approach addresses privacy concerns while maintaining high efficacy. Demonstrating a remarkable accuracy rate of 99.12%, our technique not only outperforms existing ML and non-ML-based methods but also sets a new benchmark in detecting malicious entities operating behind NAT. © 2024 IEEE.

With the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) as an eco-friendly and sustainable means of transportation, availability of adequate EV charging infrastructure has become very important. While fixed charging stations are the primary means for public charging, they can be effectively augmented by mobile charging stations. In this paper, we address the problem of planning and operating a mobile charging station fleet by an operator. We propose an algorithm for the operator to use for route planning of the MCSs and for scheduling charging requests of EVs to them to try to maximize the number of charging requests served. Detailed simulation results are presented in different realistic scenarios to show that the proposed algorithm works well. Copyright © 2025 by SCITEPRESS - science and Technology Publications, Lda.

The use of medicinal plants has been a longstanding practice in traditional medicine worldwide. Accurately identifying medicinal plants is crucial for determining their medicinal properties and potential applications. However, it can be a challenging task due to the complexity of their appearance. Variations in growth stage, lighting, and imaging conditions can make classification challenging, which limits the application of traditional methods for plant identification. This paper proposes a deep learning-based approach that uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) based on the VGG-16 model. With a dataset of 25,686 images, the CNN is capable of learning and representing complex features in images, enabling it to recognize and classify medicinal plants with high accuracy. The proposed approach can efficiently classify plants with different growth stages, lighting conditions, and imaging settings, providing a reliable tool for plant identification. We achieved an impressive recognition rate of 98%, demonstrating the feasibility of using deep learning techniques for accurate plant classification. The proposed approach has enormous potential for providing healthcare professionals and herbal medicine researchers with a reliable tool for identifying herbal plants. the study represents an essential advancement in the use of deep learning techniques for medicinal plant recognition, overcoming the challenges posed by their complex appearance. The proposed approach has farreaching implications and can significantly impact the field of herbal medicine research, enabling researchers and healthcare professionals to identify and classify medicinal plants more accurately © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, operating systems have become increasingly complex, with codebases of millions of lines inadvertently containing security bugs. Modern CPUs promise a solution to this with Trusted Execution technologies (e.g., ARM TrustZone, Intel SGX) which can be employed to isolate critical applications from unauthorized access even from more privileged ac-tors (e.g., system kernel or hypervisor). However, as the traditional way to interface with I/O peripherals is by using drivers part an now-considered untrustworthy OS, separate solutions must be devised to secure user input or output to trusted environments by ensuring an authenticated pathway. Our paper provides a systematization of the available trusted I/O path solutions by reviewing the scientific works in this field and extracting common attributes and differences. We categorize them by supported peripheral type and trusted platform, comparing the usability, security and complexity of their implementations. Automated Number Plate Recognition is one of the most important applications of computer vision, employed in the enforcement of traffic law, vehicular management, security, and even at toll collection. This paper proposed an advanced system for ANPR that can move away from the traditional booth and establish a checkpoint. The strategically located cameras with checkpointing will automatically capture the plates of passing vehicles, permitting road tax and parking fees to be deducted without making contact. A hybrid approach that combines the capabilities of OpenCV, Tesseract OCR, and deep-learningbased OCR models helps tackle such challenges as stable images from live video feeds and highly accurate text recognition. To this end, since the system integrates high-resolution frame stabilization using OpenCV to ensure crystal clear captures, it further employs the use of YOLOv8 to boost the precision of real-time detection. The blockchain technology is further implemented to ensure that transactions are tamper proof, therefore ensuring secure and transparent billing systems. This makes the ANPR solution deployable on edge devices, which opens real-time processing capabilities for high-speed and high-volume environments, thereby offering a scalable and efficient approach for intelligent transportation and smart city applications. © 2025 IEEE.

The advancement in technology and the ease to buy products from e-commerce websites have changed the traditional way of shopping. To ensure the quality of products customers mostly believe in reviews of products, but a large amount of online data and the increasing number of users make it challenging for humans to manually summarize product reviews. This study aims to investigate the use of machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and deep learning techniques for text summarization specifically for product reviews. The methodology used in this study involved applying text summarization techniques to condense product review text into a more manageable and informative format. The major findings of this study suggest that text summarization is a useful tool for reducing reading time and increasing the amount of important information from product reviews. Cricket, a sport loved worldwide, often presents challenges for aspiring players due to limited access to infrastructure and coaching resources. Cricket’s automated learning solutions are still largely unexplored, despite its popularity. By concentrating on the application of cricket shot detection, a crucial component of the game, this research fills this gap. One essential component of computer vision that becomes apparent in deciphering the subtleties of cricket shots is human stance estimate. Pose estimate provides a detailed examination of batting skills and footwork by tracking important areas on the batsman’s body, such as joints and limbs. MoveNet is a significant framework in this domain that has garnered accolades for its real-time performance and lightweight architecture, which enable accurate identification of human poses, which is a crucial requirement in the dynamic world of cricket. This study explores the combination of deep learning techniques and human pose estimate for cricket shot recognition. More precise and reliable cricket shot identification and classification are made possible by the model’s ability to extract complex patterns and features from the input data by utilizing deep learning techniques. Our goal is to automatically identify and classify cricket shots based on players’ minor motions through theoretical investigation, empirical validation, and real-world applications. Through the integration of cutting-edge technologies, such as deep learning, with traditional cricket analysis, our goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the game and discover new avenues for sports analytics, coaching, and broadcasting. ©2024 IEEE.

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the leading causes of deaths globally, mainly in low- and middle-income countries. Early and accurate detection is crucial for effective treatment and disease control. In this paper, models like CNNs-VGG16, ResNet, and DenseNet, to name a few, are taken into an exhaustive study. Optimization techniques, including transfer learning and ensemble methods, which can increase accuracy in the challenging diverse clinical settings, will be presented.
