Cybersecurity safeguards computer systems, net- works, and digital information from a wide variety of cyber-attacks. Its major purpose is to protect the privacy of users' data and resources while maintaining their integrity and making them accessible in the digital world. Cybersecurity is an area that receives investment from businesses, individuals, and governments all around the world in order to secure sensitive information, key infrastructure, and digital assets. Protection of Sensitive Information Both individuals and businesses store huge amounts of sensitive information digitally, including personal data, financial records, intellectual property, and trade secrets. This information must be protected in order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. The protection provided by cybersecurity prevents this information from being stolen, exposed, or accessed without authorization. Cyberattacks can result in severe financial losses, including theft of funds, fraud, and the expenditures associated with recovering from a cyber incident. It is possible to prevent these types of losses by taking preventative measures. Implementing these strategies helps prevent losses of this nature. In this paper, we propose a system architecture of a generic secure system, which can be deployed for various applications, i.e., smart healthcare, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), smart city, etc. We discuss the threats and attacks in cyberspace. Then, we explain the requirements of cybersecurity. Further, we discuss the devastation in the absence of cyber security. We also explain the cybersecurity deployments and techniques under cybersecurity. Then, in the end, some future research directions for cybersecurity are provided. © 2024 IEEE.

With the widespread use of digital media, amount of visual content on the internet and the incidence of image plagiarism has also increased. In various domains including academia, journalism and creative industries, unauthorized use or reproduction of images without proper attribution has become significant concern. Scaling, rotation, cropping, filtering due to these diverse range of transformations detecting image plagiarism is a challenging task now. This study investigates the use of deep learning approach to image plagiarism detection that combines methods for similarity measurement, clustering and feature extraction. A comprehensive solution is being proposed by combining Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) for extracting features, Bag of Visual Words (BoVW) model and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for image analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed approach through extensive experiments is demonstrated, outperforming the baseline methods and showcasing superior performance metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

This study addresses the critical issue of child abuse in digital communications by developing advanced machine learning and deep learning models for detecting child abusive texts in the Bengali language on online platforms. The primary goal of this research is to contribute to child abuse prevention by creating an effective tool for accurately identifying abusive content. Utilizing a combination of natural language processing (NLP) techniques and deep learning algorithms, this model distinguishes between abusive and non-abusive text. The dataset, comprising manually collected and labeled comments and posts from social media sites, is categorized into Positive, Neutral, and Negative classes. For model development, a variety of machine learning algorithms including RF, DT, and SVM, alongside deep learning approaches such as LSTM and CNN, were tested. The performance of the proposed model was assessed using precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. The findings reveal that the model performs with high accuracy in classifying abusive text in Bengali, offering significant potential as a tool for effective child abuse identification and prevention. © 2024 IEEE.

The aim of this study is to develop an automatic system that uses deep learning techniques to detect cervical spine fractures from medical images. Using a DICOM (Digital imaging and communications in medicine) images of cervical spine, the system can identify a fracture and specify which vertebrae has a fracture. This process involves first processing provided DICOM images, then applying data augmentation techniques including metadata information, finally designing neural network architecture for feature extraction. We use a method called transfer learning, utilizing a pre-trained model like EfficientNet, which is used for feature extraction, while optimizing network parameters using AdanW optimizer and CosineAnnealingWarmup learning rate scheduler. The results demonstrate the successful training of neural network models to identify fracture and that fractured vertebrae, with commendable performance and accuracy level noted during evaluation on validation data. This study has important implications for medical imaging and healthcare industries, since automated fracture detection can increase diagnostic efficiency and accuracy. Moreover, such a system would provide good support to healthcare professionals, specifically radiologists, to identify cervical spine fracture easily. © 2024 IEEE.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a sluggish and cumulative decline of kidney characteristics over the years. Early detection of CKD is essential when you consider that delayed detection and hospital treatment of the situation might eventually bring about the final stage of CKD and the patient's death. The prediction of diseases has grown to be appreciably impacted by means of the utilization of machine learning (ML) in healthcare. Thus, ML methods are the simplest in CKD prediction. The major goal is to use distinct supervised ML techniques, such as Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Artificial Neural Network, and Logistic Regression, to examine and verify how correct they may be at detecting CKD. The proposed model provides various strategies for detecting CKD using medical facts which incorporates data preprocessing, strategies for handling missing values, and data reduction. It is noted that the clinical data has been classified with an overall accuracy of 100% by the Random Forest algorithm. The suggested ML model will help doctors identify chronic kidney ailments early on, which will be an effective manner of preventing the illness. © 2024 IEEE.

Amplification by subsampling is one of the main primitives in machine learning with differential privacy (DP): Training a model on random batches instead of complete datasets results in stronger privacy. This is traditionally formalized via mechanism-agnostic subsampling guarantees that express the privacy parameters of a subsampled mechanism as a function of the original mechanism's privacy parameters. We propose the first general framework for deriving mechanism-specific guarantees, which leverage additional information beyond these parameters to more tightly characterize the subsampled mechanism's privacy. Such guarantees are of particular importance for privacy accounting, i.e., tracking privacy over multiple iterations. Overall, our framework based on conditional optimal transport lets us derive existing and novel guarantees for approximate DP, accounting with Rényi DP, and accounting with dominating pairs in a unified, principled manner. As an application, we analyze how subsampling affects the privacy of groups of multiple users. Our tight mechanism-specific bounds outperform tight mechanism-agnostic bounds and classic group privacy results. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

Load scheduling plays a vital role in the home energy management systems. The main objective of this load scheduling is to balance the power demand and supply power without degrading the performance of the loads and consumers tolerance. Though many research works concentrate on load scheduling, very few works concentrated on real time scenario. On the other hand, research work concentrated on optimal load scheduling through fuzzy logic requires incorporation of fuzzy based system in either simulated or real-time home energy management system. Hence, the proposal aims to schedule the loads in a simulated home energy management system through fuzzy logic controller using MATLAB Simscape with required subsystems. The proposed simulated environment considers four different resistive loads. Intelligent scheduling is aimed to achieve efficient load scheduling. A fuzzy controller has three inputs namely integrated source, state of charge of battery, and power demand whereas probability of scheduling is considered as output. The efficiency of the proposed fuzzy-based load scheduling scheme is evaluated under various load conditions for different sub-systems with varying input power. Decentralized finance (DeFi) has revolutionized the financial industry in recent years. Industries such as banking, insurance, and investment are experiencing a significant shift due to the growth of DeFi. The decentralized finance market is expanding exponentially, emphasizing the potential of digital currencies and decentralized platforms in providing an alternative to the traditional finance paradigm. It eliminates the need for costly intermediaries, reduces transaction fees, and increases accessibility to financial services for everyone, regardless of their geographic location or economic status. With the enormous increase in cryptocurrency investment, individuals and institutions have started to use DeFi. In this context, understanding the architecture and working mechanisms of different DeFi protocols becomes crucial in creating new and innovative products. This review paper explores various DeFi protocols, including derivatives, decentralized exchanges (DEX), lending and borrowing, asset management, and stablecoins. It analyses their internal structure and composability, providing insights into how these protocols can be combined to create new and innovative DeFi products and explore the potential of DeFi in providing an alternative to the traditional finance paradigm. © 2023 The Authors

Natural Language Processing (NLP) has entered a new era with the advent of pre-trained language models, paving the way for constructing robust language models. Pretrained transformer-based models such as GPT-2 have become prevalent due to their cutting-edge efficiency. However, these approaches rely heavily on resource-intensive languages, forcing other languages to adopt multilingual frameworks (mGPT). The mGPT model could perform better for low-resource languages such as Bangla because the model has been trained on a diverse dataset spanning multiple languages. Recent studies show that the language-specific GPT model outperforms the multilingual mGPT model. In this research, we have proposed a pretrained monolingual GPT model called BanglaGPT using the objective of causal language modeling (CLM). Due to the lack of available large datasets for NLP tasks in Bangla, we have created a Bangla language model dataset called BanglaCLM using a 26.24 GB Bangla corpus scraped from several public websites. We have used a subword-based tokenization algorithm named Byte-Pair Encoding (BPE) for Bangla and finally trained the Bangla-GPT2 model from scratch using the BanglaCLM dataset. Our pretrained BanglaGPT provides state-of-the-art performance for Bangla text generation with a perplexity score of 2.86 and a loss score of 0.45 on the test set. © 2023 IEEE.

Despite being the sixth most widely spoken language globally, the Bangla language faces a lack of effective and efficient automated methods to correct keyboard errors in written text. Such errors can result in communication misunderstandings and misinterpretations, particularly in the digital domain, where written text plays a crucial role in communication and is heavily relied upon. However, no keyboard error model for the Bangla language has been found due to the lack of available datasets. In this research work, we have proposed a probabilistic approach to generate a synthetic Bangla keyboard typing error correction (BKTEC) dataset. By utilizing the novel BKTEC dataset, we have fine-tuned a transformer-based model for Keyboard error correction. After training it to convergence, the proposed model has been tested on a test dataset, and we have found a word level accuracy of 88.56%. © 2023 IEEE.
