Approximately 1.3 billion people worldwide suffer from a visual impairment. Typically, they must use Braille to read printed materials. However, when the content is not printed in Braille, these individuals have difficulties. Even though there are a lot of electronic reading aids available, the costs remain prohibitive. Therefore, our work suggests a low-cost document reader that uses a webcam to take pictures of printed materials. The Optical Character Recognition (OCR) framework's image-to-text conversion is then used to turn the acquired image into text. Finally, the Text to Speech (TTS) framework's text-to-speech conversion will be used to read the text aloud in speech format. Consequently, a person with a visual impairment can use hearing rather than touch to comprehend printed materials that are not written in Braille. Users may view documents printed in five different languages. The choice of different document sizes is this work's greatest novelty. The system is equipped with a Raspberry Pi, Arduino Uno, NEMA 17 stepper motors, a web camera and speaker. The Raspberry Pi, Arduino Uno, NEMA 17 stepper motors, webcam, and speaker are all part of the system.

Glancing angle deposition (GLAD) is a physical vapor deposition process in which the substrate is placed to have a large incidence angle (>75°, angle between incoming flux and substrate normal). The GLAD process can be considered a promising method to fabricate metallic nanostructure on a large area at a low cost. GLAD Ag nanorods were fabricated and their fluorescence enhancement performances were examined. A practical antibody chip was realized using a 500 nm thick vertical Ag nanorods substrate. To overcome the limitations of GLAD Ag nanorod MEF substrate, Ag nanorods on micro post array substrate were also investigated. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents the design and implementation of a Smart-drip Infusion Monitoring System incorporating various sensors and IoT technologies. The system aims to enhance intravenous infusion monitoring by providing precise control and timely alerts during the infusion process. The load cell sensor measures fluid volume, while the air bubble detection sensor detects air bubble status in the intravenous line, ensuring accurate and safe medication delivery. The Arduino Uno coordinates sensor data acquisition, processing, and infusion control, dynamically adjusting the solenoid valve to maintain the prescribed infusion rate. Additionally, the buzzer alerts healthcare providers to critical events such as dose completion or system malfunctions. This integrated approach offers a comprehensive solution for optimizing intravenous therapy, enhancing patient safety, and improving healthcare outcomes.

Agriculture is a major contributor to Bangladesh's economy, with many people depending on it for their livelihoods. Farming and gardening are considered a key initiative in mitigating global warming as well as providing economic support for many families in Bangladesh. However, the vulnerability of gardens to damage during long weekends and vacations necessitates smart solutions. Also, proper irrigation is crucial for agriculture-based farms to thrive, as it is highly dependent on environmental conditions. This paper explores the application of Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart technologies as a promising solution to address this issue. A user-friendly, low-cost system facilitates the commercialization of such solutions on a large scale. In this work, we have implemented an IoT-based solution for the irrigation and watering system for agricultural firms and home gardens in Bangladesh, respectively. Considering the diverse weather conditions of Bangladesh, three key parameters, such as moisture, temperature, and humidity;have been monitored continuously and analyzed in real-time. The proposed system consists of two parts: the watering system, and the mobile app interface. The watering system incorporates an ESP32 Node MCU, sensors, two servo motors and a water pump. In automatic mode the water supply inside the garden or farm is connected to a water pump, that will be activated when the soil moisture sensor detects low moisture level, and the ambient sensor detects low humidity or high temperature. Alternatively, the garden or farm owners can remotely control the pump motor through the mobile app to water in the farm leveraging sensor data. Also, it can control the water flow angle according to their preferences. Additionally, this proposed system has the potential to save 25% to 40% of water and energy resources than traditional irrigation methods. Cancer is one of the terminal diseases that significantly affects an individual's health. Tumours are created when aberrant cells proliferate and divide out of control, posing a threat to neighbouring tissues and organs. Early detection through regular screenings and check-ups can make cancer more treatable. Lots of people throughout are impacted by prostate cancer, the cancer in males that is most frequently diagnosed. The proposed model is a multimodal hybrid approach that utilizes data *** files containing prostate attributes and prostate images. It employs both ML and DL models to classify the data as cancerous or non-cancerous and can further stage the cancerous cells into four stages. The proposed method uses the majority voting system to identify the cancerous or non-cancerous. The model achieves an overall accuracy of 81.48 %, with the ML model at 77.8% and the DL model at 87%. © 2024 IEEE.

The outcome of simulated experiments expressed the efficiency of grid-based algorithm in the domain of image processing in the context of Brain MRI Images for Tumor Detection. It provides a faster approach in detecting object and achieving higher rate of detection in comparison with existing algorithms for the similar purpose. The foremost goal of this work is improving the rate of detection by using grid based feature fusion approach with Genetic Algorithm(GA), Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) and Scalp Swarm Optimization Algorithm. This technique produces efficient result due to hybrid fusion of gridded Images and optimization for exhaustive and precise image analysis. In the initial phase Each image is segmented into 4 grids. Pretrained models like Inception-V2, Resnet 50, Mobnetv2, VGG-16 are used to extract features before and after the images are gridded. The extracted features are analysed with classifiers such as Decision tree, Support vector Machine, Multiplayer and Self Attention Transformer that not only chooses the best set of features as well as best feature extractor. Among all these models the VGG-16 gives best result in terms of Accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and F-score. Hence VGG-16 is utilized as evaluation functions in the optimization Algorithms. The performance of the approach is measured by the values produced against the terms as precision, Recall, F-score, and accuracy rate. In the first phase of iteration, features extracted from each grid are assigned with initial weight. Optimization algorithms are used for optimizing the weight values in the combined features to bring best accuracy ratio. Grid based segmentation of Image stabilize the computation time thereby reduces the time complexity. Weighted sum Scalp Swarm Optimisation assigns best weighted values to segmentation parameters to get maximum performance. The experimental outcomes proves the efficiency of the proposed strategy.

SLAM enables Robots and UAVs to effectively understand unknown surroundings and estimate their own position within those environments. Recent advancements in 2D mapping have significantly increased its popularity for navigation tasks, primarily because it is easier to generate and requires less computational power compared to 3D mapping. This paper provides a comparison of two widely used ROS-based 2D SLAM libraries: Google Cartographer and Hector SLAM, deployed on a custom built UAV that uses 2D LiDAR, and finds Hector SLAM to be more feature rich as well as computationally efficient.

Traffic signs render crucial information about the upcoming road conditions, including details on turns, intersections, and other vital features. The current traffic detection systems struggle in complex traffic scenarios such as distorted signs, poor lighting, and adverse weather conditions. Incorrect interpretation of traffic signs by automotive vehicles causes injury, property damage, and fatalities. In this study image segmentation technique is implemented to segment the images. The difficulty arises in managing uncertainty in traffic sign images caused by fading clarity conditions. Furthermore, the distinction between background and foreground becomes complex amid adverse weather or other potential factors. Rough Set based Adaptive Fuzzy C-Means (RSAFCM) technique will be implemented, and the incorporation of rough set theory will handle the uncertainty and vagueness in the image due to complex conditions. Adaptive FCM will automatically tune its parameters to better suit the image characteristics, leading to improved clustering and accuracy of the segmentation results. This combined approach will facilitate precise cleaning and segmentation of the image. By employing the solution, we aim for accurate object and background segmentation. Further, this cleaned image is fed to the CNN for feature extraction and classification. Moreover, in this study 93% accuracy is achieved by employing the proposed methodology. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rise of AI-enabled Real-Time Deepfakes (RTDFs), the integrity of online video interactions has become a growing concern. RTDFs have now made it feasible to replace an imposter's face with their victim in live video interactions. Such advancement in deepfakes also coaxes detection to rise to the same standard. However, existing deepfake detection techniques are asynchronous and hence ill-suited for RTDFs. To bridge this gap, we propose a challenge-response approach that establishes authenticity in live settings. We focus on talking-head style video interaction and present a taxonomy of challenges that specifically target inherent limitations of RTDF generation pipelines. We evaluate representative examples from the taxonomy by collecting a unique dataset comprising eight challenges, which consistently and visibly degrades the quality of state-of-the-art deepfake generators. These results are corroborated both by humans and a new automated scoring function, leading to 88.6% and 80.1% AUC, respectively. The findings under-score the promising potential of challenge-response systems for explainable and scalable real-time deepfake detection in practical scenarios.
