This study provides an innovative architectural model for e-Health systems that aims to improve cyber resilience while maintaining high availability under fluctuating traffic loads. We examined typical cybersecurity incidents in the field of e-Health, their correlations with architectural defects, and frequent design patterns in currently operational systems. A testing approach based on our research finds those weaknesses and proposes viable fixes. In this paper, a comprehensive support strategy for transitioning from conventional monolithic architectures to microservices is presented. This change makes use of cloud computing's vertical and horizontal scalability to maximize resource utilization while ensuring system reliability. We also discuss deployment ideas for the new microservices, focusing on operational resilience and cybersecurity in e-Health environments. © 2025, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Women in computing were among the first programmers in the early 20th century and were substantial contributors to the industry. Today, men dominate the software engineering industry. Research and data show that women are far less likely to pursue a career in this industry, and those that do are less likely than men to stay in it. Reasons for women and other underrepresented minorities to leave the industry are a lack of opportunities for growth and advancement, unfair treatment and workplace culture. This research explores how the potential to cultivate or uphold an industry unfavourable to women and non-binary individuals manifests in software engineering education at the university level. For this purpose, the study includes surveys and interviews. We use gender name perception as a survey instrument, and the results show small differences in perceptions of software engineering students based on their gender. Particularly, the survey respondents anchor the values of the male software engineer (Hans) to a variety of technical and non-technical skills, while the same description for a female software engineer (Hanna) is anchored mainly by her managerial skills. With interviews with women and non-binary students, we gain insight on the main barriers to their sense of ambient belonging. The collected data shows that some known barriers from the literature such as tokenism, and stereotype threat, do still exist. However, we find positive factors such as role models and encouragement that strengthen the sense of belonging among these students. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Nowadays due to increasing cases of evidence alteration the need of a robust evidence protection system is increasing rapidly. This paper presents an innovative solution that combines the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) with blockchain technology to enhance the security, immutability, and transparency of evidential data obtained from crime *** proposed system initiates by utilizing IPFS, a decentralized and distributed file storage protocol, to securely store multimedia evidence, such as photographs. The content-addressed nature of IPFS guarantees tamper-resistant storage, making it an ideal choice for preserving the integrity of sensitive evidentiary materials. The IPFS addresses obtained from IPFS are then embedded within the blockchain, establishing a decentralized and verifiable link between the evidence and its storage location. We use multi-signature wallet to upload the data on blockchain so that we can make it more secure and monitored about who is uploading evidence state data. To verify links and integrity of evidence usage we set up a system of periodical updates of state of evidence whenever accessed. These updates serve as a mechanism to record the state of the evidence at different points in time, adding an additional layer of reliability and accountability. © 2024 IEEE.

Skin cancer, a prevalent and potentially life-threatening disease, necessitates accurate and timely diagnosis for effective treatment. In addressing this critical healthcare challenge, this research proposes a novel approach to skin cancer classification. The study identifies the need for enhanced diagnostic accuracy and introduces a solution by integrating the efficiency of transfer learning, specifically utilizing the EfficientNet V2 architecture. The proposed methodology leverages pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to extract high-level features from dermatological images, which are subsequently input into a sophisticated classifier, forming a robust framework for precise skin cancer classification. The research employs a diverse dataset comprising 3297 images sourced from the publicly available Skin Cancer ISIC archive dataset, ensuring comprehensive coverage of benign and malignant skin lesions. During the training phase, the proposed EfficientNet V2 transfer learning approach outperforms conventional methods, achieving an impressive accuracy of 84%, surpassing both Inception V3 (82%) and a generic CNN model (81%). Interpretability analysis is conducted to elucidate the decision-making process of the EfficientNet V2 model, providing insights into the key features influencing its predictions. This transparency is crucial for building trust in the model's recommendations and facilitating its seamless integration into clinical workflows. The EfficientNet V2 transfer learning approach emerges as a promising and effective solution for advancing skin cancer classification systems, contributing significantly to the ongoing efforts to improve diagnostic accuracy in dermatology. © 2024 IEEE.

This research study investigates human responses to malware attacks, focusing on attacker motivations, individual reactions, and key factors influencing user vulnerability and resilience. Using a structured survey questionnaire, the study gathered data from 104 participants with diverse demographics across various occupations. The data was analyzed using SPSS statistical software and Python-based machine learning algorithms. The survey included demographic information and responses to cybersecurity-related questions about human behavior and experience. Machine learning techniques identified ten critical factors as significant predictors of vulnerability to malware attacks. The prediction model indicated that 55 out of 104 participants were vulnerable, with higher vulnerability observed among female participants and those in non-IT professions. This study contributes valuable insights into the human factors influencing cybersecurity resilience, providing a foundation for developing effective strategies to mitigate malware attack vulnerability. © 2024 IEEE.

Pneumonia, an inflammatory lung disease, impacts the small air sacs known as alveoli and is typically caused by the bacteria Streptococcus pneumonia. Symptoms commonly include a combination of productive or dry cough, chest pains, difficulty breathing, and fever. In India, where Covid-19 is prevalent, community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) poses a significant risk factor for mortality, accounting for one-third of fatalities, as reported by the World Health Organization (WHO).Diagnosing and predicting the outcome of pneumonia typically involves examining chest imaging radiographs of patients exhibiting clinically similar symptoms (e.g., fever, dyspnea, cough, and sputum production). Therefore, the development of an automated method for pneumonia detection could offer valuable advantages, particularly in remote regions, facilitating prompt treatment. Heart failure is one of the primary causes for deaths caused in the hospital. Predicting mortality rate of such patients is extremely important for the efficient use of health care resources. This research aims to estimate the hospital mortality rate of Heart Failure(HF) patients using machine learning(ML). Using computational technique, the obtained model has given the most efficient accuracy. This paper uses the classification model to detect two outcomes (0 and 1, i.e., if the patient will survive or not). The classification models used for the hospital mortality prediction are, single classifiers such as Logistic regression, SVM, KNN, Decision tree (Ginni and Entropy);with Logistic regression obtaining highest accuracy of 88.9%, Bagging and boosting models such as Randomforest, Adaptive boosting, Gradient boosting, XG boosting, Categorical boosting;with CatBoost obtaining highest accuracy of 90.2%. To achieve the best accuracy, ensemble models were used out of which ensemble classifier ensemble gave 91.1% accuracy. To understand the features playing important role in decision making, explainable AI(XAI) is used. LIME and SHAP are considered. LIME generated local explanations, it explained the decision of a complex model for a specific instance or observation. In contrast, SHAP provided global explanations, it explained the overall behavior of the model across all instances. © 2024 IEEE.

With the emergence of various techniques involved in deep learning the researchers of computer vision tends to focus on the strategies such as object recognition and segmentation of image. This has inclined to accomplish the deep learning techniques in 3D reconstruction of both specific and generic objects. As the space for reconstruction of 3D images either in single or multi view has envisioned the researchers to concentrate on the available technologies used for reconstruction. With the available built in methods and technologies in deep learning, the performance of the proposed methods were reviewed and analyzed using several parameters. As the remaking of 2D images is still in the beginning stage, it is important to study the 3D shape representations, various network architecture, methodologies and approaches behind 3D reconstruction. In this work a review of deep learning methods for single or multiple RGB images of specific and generic object 3D reconstruction was done. Several methods and their importance were also discussed along with the challenges encountered and with further research directions.
