Quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA) is an algorithm for solving combinatorial optimization problems (COP), which can be implemented on gate based quantum computers. However, many practical COPs such as a personalized course selection problem (PCSP) have not been solved by QAOA yet. In this paper, we solve a PCSP using QAOA by transforming the problem into a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO), and investigate the solution properties when the weight of the problem's constraint is changed. Experimental evaluations demonstrate that tuning the weight value improves the probability of obtaining optimal solutions and reduces the energy expectation value averaged over the obtained feasible solutions.

Diabetes is a chronic disease whose timely and accurate diagnosis will prevent serious complications from health. This paper explores using iridology principles in a deep learning method to detect diabetes from retinal images in order to streamline the process and automate the procedure. The objective here is to create a non-invasive procedure for early and reliable detection of the disease. Deep learning in medical imaging is the new way to interfere with conventional modes of diagnostics. The retinal imaging is non-invasive and has, over the years, been put to use in medical examinations, and its potential is now absolutely being utilized in the early diagnosis of diabetes. A retinal analysis that is based on principles, integrating them into iridology, concentrating on the patterns and signs portrayed in the iris for possible reflections of a general health condition, is aimed at achieving earlier indications of diabetes in a more effortless and rapid way. Models such as ResNet50, ResNet101, and EfficientNetB7 were precious but actually, it was InceptionV3 that delivered a great accuracy of 97.14%. This result proves the feasibility application of InceptionV3 for diagnosing diabetes in the early stages, thus eventually providing an easy and non-invasive way of moving forward to better health.

This paper presents a compact planar ultrawideband (UWB) band-pass filter (BPF). Initially, it employs a compact BPF with a reversible notched band to reject unwanted signals. The second phase entails determining and establishing the conventional microstrip feed’s input impedance at a fixed value of 50 ohms. Then, to eliminate the unwanted signal, a triangleshaped patch is etched from an L-shaped parallel linked transmission line. The bottom part of the BPF receives grounding. The BPF is designed, simulated, and fabricated in the laboratory. The measured fractional impedance bandwidth of 4.42 and 25.83%, minimum insertion loss of 1.40 and 0.32 dB, and minimum total loss of 15 and 8%, along with flat group delay at first and second resonant frequencies, respectively. Notably, BPF exhibits minimal loss, exceptionally low distortion, and acceptable speed. It demonstrates that the simulation and experimental results support the conclusions. The proposed BPF is suitable for S/C-band applications.
