Biometrics systems utilizing hand geometry, fingerprint, iris, face, palm print, voice, gesture, and palm print have been utilised for authentication purposes. Through these templates, the face template is suggested as the strongest. However, problems still exist in face-matching implementation which affects biometric security. Thus, in this paper, a new cancellable face image algorithm using the Convolution Neural Network (CNN) feature extraction technique and Winner-Takes-All hashing method is proposed. The algorithm is to overcome the problem of matching which will enhance its security. ORL and Yale datasets were utilized in the evaluation of the proposed algorithm. Several common algorithms were utilised in the comparison based on Equal Error Ratio (ERR) measurement. The outcomes displayed the verification performance of the unimportant differences with EER = 0.95% and 3.25% for the extended version of the face dataset for the Yale and ORL face datasets, respectively. The acceptable implementation of the proposed algorithm demonstrates that it can be used for the security purpose of biometric trait tasks. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Challenges faced by traffic management in many developing nations across the globe is a result of the poor quality of road infrastructure. Inadequate and defective road infrastructure are major contributors to this effect. A key element that poses significant risk to road safety and that leads to increased road management cost is the increasing number of potholes and inefficient detection and reporting approach. This study provides an in-dept. exploration of the latest developments in pothole detection systems and examines various methodologies and technologies used in these systems, emphasizing the importance of real-time monitoring for proactive road maintenance. In addition, we proposed a system that addresses the persistent challenge of road infrastructure degradation by adopting cutting-edge technologies, including computer vision, machine learning, and sensor networks (such as ultrasonic and GPIO systems) that are used to identify and assess potholes on road surfaces. To achieve the aim of the study, the system adopts the use of RasberryPi 4 Model B for pothole detection and YOLOv4 for image processing. © 2024 IEEE.

Skin cancer, being the most predominant type of malignant growth, represents more than half of all cancer instances. While melanoma is less common than other skin cancers, it poses the highest risk due to its tendency to metastasize and potentially result in mortality. Nonetheless, early detection significantly increases the chances of curing melanoma. The detection of melanoma poses a considerable challenge, primarily attributed to the minimal interclass variance observed between images of melanoma and non-melanoma, alongside the heightened interclass variance within melanoma images. Hence, it is imperative to formulate a computer-aided Diagnosis (CAD) to identify such lesions and facilitate early disease diagnosis to enhance the probability of patient survival. The proposed methodology consists of a sequence of four distinct phases. The initial stage involves preprocessing, which incorporates the application of filtering and contrast enhancement algorithms such as the Median filter, Dull razor, and Histogram Equalization. The segmentation process proceeds by utilizing Otsu methods in order to detect any anomalies. Subsequently, the following phase involves the extraction of features through GLCM for textural attributes and ABCD base parameters, encompassing asymmetry, border irregularity, color, and diameter. Following this, a model based on artificial neural networks (ANN) is developed by leveraging these extracted traits to discern instances of skin cancer within the provided dataset. This methodology achieves a commendable overall accuracy rate of 99%. Dermatologists may derive significant assistance in their clinical decision-making procedures from this promising breakthrough. © 2024 IEEE.

Device identification is a crucial aspect of securing networks, particularly in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), where a vast variety of devices are interconnected. Recently, there has been significant research on developing techniques for identifying IoT devices based on their unique characteristics, called as device fingerprints. These techniques use machine learning algorithms, which can effectively learn and classify devices based on their features. However, device identification remains a challenging task due to the diversity of IoT devices and the constant evolution of their characteristics. This paper presents our attempt at device identification by analyzing distinct device characteristics observed during network communication and using different machine learning techniques. © 2023 IEEE.

A promising approach for enhancing the dependability and security of quantum processes is the integration of Random Forests, a traditional machine learning technique, with quantum anomaly detection and alert production. This approach involves training Random Forest models to inspect quantum data and spot abnormalities such as variations in quantum states, entanglement patterns, and the results of quantum processes. When anomalies are found, alarms are activated, categorized by severity, and sent out via several notification channels. Operators of quantum systems can act quickly by applying techniques for adaptive control, error correction, or system reinitialization. The rigorous preservation of historical data makes post-incident study and ongoing system improvement possible. This novel strategy strengthens security while simultaneously improving the performance of quantum systems, particularly in situations involving quantum communication. To guarantee its efficiency in the continually changing quantum landscape, careful design and ongoing monitoring are essential. © 2024 IEEE.

Foot bending is a basic component of walking. Although bending is important for foot-ground interaction and ensures the speed and balance of the whole walking cycle, there is still no practical method for recording and analyzing foot bending under everyday scenarios. In this study we propose to use a smart insole, with two embedded Inertial Measurement Units, to acquire the movements of the fore-foot and the hind-foot and deduce the bending, represented by the bending point's position. We use the deep learning approach to estimate the bending position and its changes during different walking patterns. On the dataset containing 8 test subjects and 6 walking patterns, our method can achieve an overall mean absolute error accuracy of 2.58 cm. The smart insole can be with the subject all the day, bring in a new method for continuous foot bending monitoring. © 2024 IEEE.

The evolution of data management systems has witnessed a paradigm shift towards dynamic and temporal representations of relationships. Graph databases, positioned as key players in managing highly-connected data with a fundamental requirement for relationship analysis, have recognized the need for incorporating temporal features. These features are crucial for capturing the temporal dynamics inherent in various applications, offering a more comprehensive understanding of relationships over time. This theoretical exploration emphasizes the importance of incorporating temporal dimensions into graph data warehousing for contemporary applications. Temporal features introduce a dynamic dimension to graph data, enabling a more nuanced understanding of relationships and patterns over time. This paper project an system for reclamation of medical images in an effective way for the extraction and retrieving of data from large archives is critical. This study aims to improve haematological image reclamation by combining visual-based image reclamation (VBIR) approaches with the GLCM algorithm, specifically for characteristics related to the prostate gland. While previous research has focused on computer-aided methods for Gleason grading, our technique focuses on early-stage feature reclamation across 14 paired glands. The experimental findings, including Bicubic Interpolation The resolution Enrichment with a standard deviation of 12.37, kurtosis of 122.83, and skewness of 2.92, demonstrate improved reclamation performance. Our suggested methodology uses a handmade learning approach that includes critical components such as GLCM contrast and correlation. This extensive feature extraction step includes descriptors for morphology, texture, fractals, and contextual information, which are then subjected to in-dept. statistical analysis to identify significant features. Using an RNN, our technique improves performance somewhat but significantly when compared to alternatives, with time required for execution offering insights into the intricate interaction of stages and the effect of sample variability. These findings not only encourage more research, but also help to advance standard reviews in haematological analysis of images. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Aspect extraction plays a crucial role in understanding the fine-grained nuances of text data, allowing businesses and researchers to gain deeper insights into customer opinions, sentiment distributions, and preferences. This study presents a BERT-based framework for aspect extraction in ABSA and evaluates its performance. Our research focuses on the comprehensive analysis of aspect extraction as we test our method using the SEMEVAL dataset of various consumer evaluations across diverse domains, including laptops, restaurants, and Twitter. By fine-tuning BERT on a large dataset, we aim to overcome the limitations of traditional approaches and improve the accuracy and efficiency of aspect extraction in ABSA. The experimental findings provide evidence of the efficacy of our methodology with a noteworthy aspect extraction accuracy of 0.98, highlighting its capacity to properly and consistently extract features. The article also explores the applicability of our approach to new domains and its possible applications in real-world scenarios. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

Assessing landslide susceptibility is vital in mitigating natural disasters, particularly in zones with active tectonics. This paper will discuss a novel approach based on a CNN architecture in a U -Net designed to assess landslide susceptibility in these zones of active tectonism. The model thus takes advantage of spatial data sources from remote sensing and GIS and multi-coupled geospatial factors such as slope, elevation, rainfall, and tectonic activity in a multivariate framework for predicting landslide-prone areas. The U-Net CNN architecture is used as it captures the local and global spatial patterns and results in very precise susceptibility maps. The selected historical data about landslides was then fed into the trained and validated model to predict potential landslide occurrence zones, indicating high accuracy in susceptibility mapping. The CNN-based U-Net approach suggests a higher order of precision and spatial resolution than the conventional machine learning approach. This work portrays the capabilities of deep learning approaches in developing landslide risk assessment with much-improved precision. It thus offers an essential tool for disaster risk management along with urban planning for tectonically active regions. © 2024 IEEE.
