For the stable operation of sensitive systems, achieving high-bandwidth control in power converters is critical, as the current and voltage ripple directly reflects the quality of the synthesized waveform. The selection of an appropriate DC-link capacitor, which significantly influences the system's bandwidth, plays a pivotal role in ensuring performance. This paper explores the intricate relationship between input and output DC-link capacitance and its effect on the system bandwidth in Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters, a topic that remains relatively unexplored despite numerous research on high-bandwidth control for other power converters. To address the challenges posed by the bulky DC-link capacitor typically required to manage ripple current, the proposed approach integrates a harmonic trap filter to effectively mitigate these limitations. Using state-space modeling and state-variable feedback control, the design and control strategy is validated on a 5 kW DAB converter, demonstrating its ability to enhance system bandwidth without compromising ripple performance. © 2025 IEEE.

The generalized index modulation (G-IM) technique provides an improvement in bit error rate (BER), spectral efficiency (SE), and/or energy efficiency (EE) over traditional digital modulation schemes. However, G-IM techniques suffer from the propagation of errors due to the incorrect detection of indices for higher modulation order (M > 4). To alleviate the risk of error propagation, the enhancement of the correct indices detection probability is a crucial requirement for G-IM systems. This paper presents an error propagation-free generalized index modulation (G-IM) system with adaptive coding modulation in which the indices bits are coded independently on the information bits. The main focus of this study is to derive a quantitative relation between the target system BER and the required indices error rate and, hence, to derive the overall system error probability. In particular, an analytical total BER formula for the error propagation-free G-IM system is provided and compared to the total BER of the classical counterpart modulation techniques. Hence, a direct relationship between the BER of index bits and the ordinary modulation BER is represented, providing an approximate threshold after which the target BER of the G-IM system outperforms the traditional modulation techniques. To validate our established results, the G-IM system with low density parity check code with binary phase shift keying modulation technique (LDPC-BPSK), as a simple satellite coding-modulation scheme which is used in satellite digital video broadcasting TV (DVB-T2) and deep-space communications, is described as a possible direct application for the G-IM system. once the index BER exceeds the threshold, the LDPC-BPSK modulated G-IM system significantly outperforms the classical BPSK modulation while keeping the same EE or SE yet on the expense of added encoder complexity. The emerging trend of distributed and renewable energy sources encourages energy trading in the electricity market. Various forms of energy markets are evolving for successful energy trading. The local energy market is one of them in which various participants are actively coordinating for optimal utilization of power. Such type of local energy markets provides individual prosumers to trade their surplus energy in the neighbourhood in peer-to-peer topology. The complexity of such type of local energy market is increasing in terms of structure, control, coordination, and cost estimation. For the cooperative behaviour of the local energy markets, a dual auction coordination control scheme is important to encourage more prosumers for energy trading. We proposed a novel scheme that performs dual auctions for prosumers in a decentralized fashion. We assessed dual auction matching by coordinating prosumers and consumers to sell and purchase energy in the local energy market. The aggregator performed balancing in the proposed dual auction scheme as an autonomous entity. The results were simulated in MATLAB and JADE for the complex prosumer peer-to-peer network. Our proposed scheme shows each peer dual auction matching improves from 0.95 to 2.03 for optimal hierarchal energy trading in energy markets. For peer participation, the participation ratio increased from 0.684 to 1.74 and optimal aggregator coordination from 9.18% to 19% in the local energy markets. © 2023 IEEE.

The introduction of attention mechanisms has evolved NLP methodologies, giving rise to Large Language Models (LLMs) that excel in various sequence-to-sequence tasks like translation, question-answering, summarization, intent, and entity classification. This research focuses on text to code translation, converting human language into executable code. Code generating bots enhances the quality and efficiency of developers and facilitates to tackle the repetitive or simple tasks. A novel and clever fusion of Python Code and the creative ability of Large Language Models to generate text is proposed in this paper named PyLoomer. PyLoomer is an innovative text-to-python code chatbot that bridges the gap between narrative expression and technical execution which uses attention mechanism. PyLoomer seeks to improve the performance of existing models for python code generation by using in-context learning and instruction fine-tuning. Rigorous evaluation metrices, including Rougel, Rouge2, RougeL, RougeLsum and model loss, demonstrated significant improvements in results. Results indicate that CodGen, among the three models, achieves the highest Rouge scores, demonstrating superior performance, the Rouge score improvements for Codegen, StarCoder and CodeParrot are 0.0224, 0.0097 and 0.0223 respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

The crucial field of fruit classification in computer vision and deep learning brings about breakthroughs that have broad applications in the retail and agricultural industries. By automating the identification and sorting of various fruit types, these technologies enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, benefiting processes from farm production to market distribution. The integration of sophisticated algorithms and neural networks not only improves the speed and reliability of fruit classification but also offers the potential for real-time quality control and inventory management, revolutionizing traditional methods and paving the way for more innovative, data-driven approaches in these sectors. This study introduces LightNN, a novel and effective paradigm with a lightweight architecture that tackles the complex problems related to computational efficiency. Combining a small classifier with a simplified feature extractor, LightNN achieves the ideal balance between simplicity and accuracy. The feature extractor is capable of extracting hierarchical features from RGB images by using convolutional layers with ReLU activations and max-pooling procedures. The flattened output is then processed by the classifier, which consists of fully connected layers with ReLU activations and dropout regularisation. Remarkably, LightNN, with just 298,835 parameters, manages to get a respectable 96.37% test accuracy in fruit categorization tasks. The results highlight LightNN's promise as an effective and efficient fruit classifying method, particularly in situations with constrained computational resources. © 2024 IEEE.

Remittances are important economic contributors to a countrya's economy. It has increased national savings, lowered foreign exchange limits, and helped balance payments and development budgets. Migrant workers are the main source of these remittance revenues. Many workers worldwide leave their homes and move to different parts of the world for overseas employment. These workers are authorized and have documentation of their country of origin and final destination. Besides, many workers have migrated illegally globally, particularly to European Union (EU) countries via marine routes. However, illegal immigration leads to a loss of national revenue due to non-payment of taxes and social security contributions and problems with living circumstances and legal issues. Therefore, this paper aims to present a time series forecast of irregular migrants in EU countries from Bangladesh over the next five years. We used five methods to analyze this forecasting: ARIMA (an autoregressive integrated moving average), XGBoost Series, Decision Tree, Feed Forward Neural Network, and CatBoost Regressor. In addition, we used data from the European Border and Coast Guard Agency to perform the time series forecast. A field intervention is carried out to assess the gender, age, education, socioeconomic level, and skill profile of migrant workers. Moreover, a few case studies of migrant workers and a survey were conducted to investigate the underlying causes of irregular migration. Finally, this study explains the underlying cause of irregular migration and its repercussions. It can provide some ideas for decreasing the loss of human life and property by reducing irregular migration to help take essential actions in the home and destination countries. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces Augmented Karuta, an interactive floor projection experience inspired by traditional Japanese playing cards, known as 'Karuta'. Designed to engage users and stimulate interest in local cultures, history, and traditions, the system utilizes three projectors. Two projectors project 46 'grabbing' cards onto the floor screen of 4.1 x 3.7 (m), while the third displays a corresponding 'reading' card on a wall screen. Each matching pair of cards shares a poem or sentence that begins with one of the Japanese phonograms. During a session, users actively engage by stepping onto the projected 'grabbing' card that matches the 'reading' card displayed on the wall, effectively blending physical movement with cognitive skills to find the correct match. By integrating a two-dimensional LiDAR sensor, the system tracks the user's position on the interactive floor. This tracking is vital for the proposed system to immediately respond to the user's actions, ensuring an immersive and seamless interaction with the digital karutas on the floor. We conducted evaluation experiments at two museums, gathering positive feedback from 57 participants. Future work will focus on quantitatively evaluating the system's impact on learning effectiveness. © 2025 IEEE.

Currently, Dementia is a leading cause of disability and dependency among the elderly worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) lists it as the seventh largest cause of mortality. Exercise using hands and fingers can be crucial in suppressing the development of dementia. Thus, we are studying an hand gesture exergame system to play video games while doing hand exercises. We have implemented the prototype system. In this paper, we collect four video games and define five hand gestures to control a game. Then, we applied the system to 10 elders in Indonesia to evaluate the applicability where their questionnaire results confirmed it. © 2024 IEEE.

Short message spam poses a significant threat for all mobile phone users, as it can act as an efficient tool for cyberattacks including spreading malware and phishing. Traditional anti-spam measures are only minimally effective against modern spammers. Intelligent analysis of the content to categorise the messages as Spam (unwanted and unsolicited) or Ham (useful messages) is therefore essential to safeguard the user from such attacks. Various artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are proving to be useful in the analysis of the content of such short messages to classify and filter spam. We have trained, validated and tested seven such AI techniques on the SMS spam collection dataset to identify the best model for designing and developing a content based classification system. Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) have shown the highest performance metrics (Test Accuracy: 99.28%) and hence our proposed system includes a RNN model for classification. A web app of this system has also been deployed where a single SMS can be input and the designed system can classify it as Spam or Ham. The designed system is compared against existing systems and is found to be significantly better. © 2024 IEEE.

Currently, hypertension is a major health concern. It is affecting approximately 1.28 billion people around the world due to the World Health Organization (WHO). Handgrip exercises performed with a foam ball have proven to be an effective approach to lowering blood pressure. To promote such exercises in a fun and engaging way, we have developed a handgrip exergame system to play video games with various hand gestures on a personal computer equipped with a camera. A Python program is implemented with Mediapipe to detect hand gestures to control games. Then, the selection of proper games is essential for easy use by seniors. In this paper, we investigate video games using two or four hand gestures for the handgrip exergame system through applications to 10 Indonesian seniors who are suffering from hypertension. We asked them to play the nine video games in the system and to answer to 1 0 questions on the usability. The System Usability Scale (SUS) score of the questionnaire results validated the effectiveness of the proposal. © 2024 IEEE.
