The rapid evolution of battery technology has spurred the rise of elec.ric vehicles (EVs). This paper contributes to the discourse on IoT applications in EV transportation systems, focusing on optimizing routing, energy management, and grid integration. Our study tackles the challeng. of determining the most efficient route for autonomous EVs while accounting for battery charging requirements. Diverging from existing approaches, our work goes beyond mere minimization of travel time by incorporating considerations for maximizing battery longevity, thus enhancing overall elec.ric vehicle efficiency. Recognizing the dynamic nature of EV operations, we model the problem as a Markov decision process and propose a reinforcement learning algorithm to address it. Through comprehensive analysis and evaluations across networks of varying scales, ranging from small to large node networks, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed methodology. Moreover, we underscore its superiority in practical scenarios, emphasizing its potential for real-world deployment.

In this paper, we propose a framework to support continuous and adaptive multi-factor authentication. Our proposed solution is based on leveraging the users’ context to estimate the risk to the remote login and to support passive user authentication. We have developed a theoretical framework that supports dynamic, context-aware and adaptive selec.ion of the authentication factors. Our Context-Aware and Adaptive Multi-Factor Authentication (CAA-MFA) framework increases the security of remote authentication by selec.ing k number of factors for the users’ authentication in a way that the selec.ed factors are 1) unpredictable by the attackers, 2) satisfy security and privacy constraints, and 3) are suitable for dynamically changing environments. Our current work focuses on implementing a proof-of-concept prototype of the proposed framework.

Robotics as a field has taken off in recent years, with a significant focus on autonomy. An area that has a great contribution to the autonomous aspect of collaborative robots is the actual movement mechanisms they use. When two robots are used to collaboratively carry an object, their movements are critical in order to maintain stable control of the shared object. There are many factors that can affect the usefulness of one drivetrain, but the key factor for successful collaborative carry is the degrees of freedom and how freely we can control them while other degrees are or are not being controlled. After constructing robots with each of the drivetrains, the testing showed that the proposed ball-based system brought several benefits to collaborative carry robots, with drawbacks in complexity.
