As data mining & analytics technologies advance, they offer unprecedented opportunities for extracting valuable insights from vast datasets. However, these advancements bring forth a complex array of ethical considerations that must be addressed to ensure responsible practices in the field. This paper explores the ethical dimensions of data mining & analytics, focusing on key issues such as privacy, consent, & bias. Privacy concerns arise from the extensive collection & potential misuse of personal data, necessitating stringent measures to protect individuals' information. Consent, a fundamental ethical principle, requires transparent practices where data subjects are informed & agree to the use of their data. Recently, small satellites such as Cube Satellites (CubeSats) have played an important role in modern communication and applications like imaging, remote sensing, education, wide-area measurements, deep-space research, and deep-space observations and communications. CubeSat antenna has primary functions in telemetry and command, communication, navigation, and inter-satellite links (ISL) operations. This paper investigates the radiation characteristics of proposed arrays of quadrifilar helix antenna as an application on a CubeSat in L-band. Firstly, the problem is formulated using the moment method for a four-element array on top of a CubeSat is considered. Then, the radiation patterns, array gain, and axial ratio are depicted. Finally, the characteristics of a cavity-backed four-element quadrifilar helical antenna on top of a CubeSat are investigated. Simulation results show that the antenna gain increases using the cavity while the axial ratio slightly decreases. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of increasing the processor's performance heat has made it more difficult to increase frequency and thereby performance. As a solution, computer architecture has moved away from single-core chips and towards multi-core chips, sometimes called Chip Multiprocessors (CMPs). The last-level cache (LLC) in a coordinated multiprocessor (CMP) design is usually SRAM and is shared by numerous processors. There is an effort to optimize power consumption in the addressing system of the low-power SRAM delay buffer circuit shown in the design proposal. An array of novel power-saving strategies are included into the suggested SRAM addressing system. As the delay buffer operates in a sequential manner, it employs a ring-counter for addressing. A C-element gated-clock approach is proposed, and the operating frequency is reduced by half through the use of double-edge-triggered (DET) flip-flops in the ring counter. Additionally, to control the clock distribution throughout the network, a new gated-clock-driver tree is used in the design. To further reduce loading and power consumption, the memory block's input and output ports also use the gated-driver-tree approach. The proposed model uses optimistic address generation and a combination of SRAM and eDRAM for read/write operations of cache memory, ultimately reducing the dynamic power consumption by 20.43% and latency by around 23.45%.

We develop a novel generative model to simulate vehicle health and forecast faults, conditioned on practical operational considerations. The model, trained on data from the US Army's Predictive Logistics program, aims to support predictive maintenance. It forecasts faults far enough in advance to execute a maintenance intervention before a breakdown occurs. The model incorporates real-world factors that affect vehicle health. It also allows us to understand the vehicle's condition by analyzing operating data, and characterizing each vehicle into discrete states. Importantly, the model predicts the time to first fault with high accuracy. We compare its performance to other models and demonstrate its successful training.

The rapid development of deepfake technology, driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning advancements, creates a significant challeng. to authenticity in digital media. With deep fakes, for instance, the manipulation of images, videos, or audio to create hyper-realistic but fabricated content forms a tool for spreading disinformation, committing cyber crimes, and further eroding public trust. This study systematically reviews the numerous methods implemented in deep fake detection research, such as deep learning-based techniques, machine learning approaches, statistical analysis, and blockchain technologies. To this end, it further classifies available detection methodologies, critically examines their respective effectiveness, and compares advantages and disadvantages for each category. Additionally, the importance of datasets to the process of training a model, a discussion on metrics, model generalization issues, as well as other related problems will be identified in the performance of the deepfake model. In addition, this study will aim to develop more efficient and scalable systems for deepfake detection so that the threat posed by media manipulation in the age of digital can be alleviated.

Networked Control Systems (NCSs) are often used in smart greenhouses for remote monitoring and control of various environmental factors. The crop yield is highly dependent on the proper monitoring and control of said factors. Often these NCSs utilize wireless sensors communicating with a controller. In this paper, the network involves Wi-Fi Access Points (APs) linking the sensors to the switched Ethernet network, on which the controller resides. The greenhouse is split into multiple cells, each with a dedicated AP. This research work revolves around the impact of AP failures. Spanning various failure scenarios, sensors may redirect their traffic to other functioning cell APs. In this paper, Riverbed Modeler is used to simulate a comprehensive and representative set of failure scenarios, with different traffic redirection schemes. The simulations produce measures of Packet Loss Rate (PLR), which is factored into a measure of Quality of Experience (QoE). Finally, QoE Fairness is calculated for the various redirection schemes, to identify the optimal redirection scheme, for each failure scenario. This serves as a case study for traffic redirection schemes in similar scenarios, and in a broader sense for the application of QoE Fairness in fault-tolerance planning.

A proper career guidance and lifestyle assistance system is critical for a person’s personal development, economic stability, and life quality improvement. Existing career and lifestyle research did not reveal an automated citizen assistant system with career prediction, lifestyle coach recommendation, habit tracker, time management recommendation, addiction, sleep, and eating disorder detection, vacation destination recommendation, lifestyle product search, health specialist search, successful career step recommendation, and productivity increase tips. To bridle the current shortcomings, this paper contributes a career and lifestyle assistant mobile application that includes citizen aspiration-based future career suggestions, career helper course search, coach search, addiction issue, eating and sleeping disorder detection, vacation place recommendation, lifestyle product purchase facilities, health specialist contact, habit tracker, recreation item search, and time management features. The proposed lifestyle and career assistant application usability analysis revealed that at least 69% of citizens dispatched applaudable remarks about app’s streng.h and necessity.

PyraNet: A Multi-Layered Hierarchical Dataset for Verilog

Recently, there has been a growing interest in leveraging Large Language Models for Verilog code generation. However, the current quality of the generated Verilog code remains suboptimal. This is largely due to the absence of well-defined, well-organized datasets with high-quality samples, as well as a lack of innovative fine-tuning methods and models specifically trained on Verilog. In this paper, we introduce a novel open-source dataset and a corresponding fine-tuning technique, which utilizes a multi-layered structure that we refer to as PyraNet. Our experiments demonstrate that employing the proposed dataset and fine-tuning approach leads to a more accurate fine-tuned model, producing syntactically and functionally correct Verilog code. The evaluation results show improvements by up-to 32.6% in comparison to the CodeLlama-7B baseline model and up-to 16.7% in comparison to the state-of-the-art models using VerilogEval evaluation platform. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.
