Nowadays, the world is becoming smarter, so as the technology, the new era is on the boom, which is blockchain because of its different use cases and benefits. The blockchain is a growing list of records called blocks that are linked together with the use of cryptography. Because all servers on a network are corresponding and a significant concern in the types of network style, its data sources are managed through a peer-to-peer (p2p) network. The servers engage in negotiation and communication through the agreement method. The dispersed network is a network system in which information, software application, and computer system programs are spread out on greater than one node (computer systems). These nodes also depend on each other. It is only a p2p network that gets rid of a solitary factor of failing. It is a decentralized, dispersed, and unalterable journal to show electronic purchases. One of the concepts of blockchain is NFTs. These are digital assets with a unique identity and cannot be replicated. They can be used for a variety of purposes, such as in-game items, digital collectibles, or even to represent real-world assets like cars or houses. They can represent any digital asset or physical goods. NFTs can represent ownership and authenticity of any type of digital asset or physical goods. They can also represent a stake in the game, such as ownership in a casino or a share in a company. © 2024 IEEE.

Precoding codebooks facilitate efficient channel state information acquisition in high-dimensional MIMO systems. Most codebook designs, however, are agnostic to the antenna array composition and the underlying gain pattern profiles. We leverage an electromagnetic characterization of the antenna array manifold to generalize the codebook design problem. Specifically, we formulate the codebook design problem in a manner that incorporates polarization, near-field propagation and the antenna array characteristics. Our proposed approach is also flexible enough to adapt to different antenna types and even to heterogenous arrays. Our numerical results demonstrate that the electromagnetic-based codebooks achieve higher beamforming gains than approaches that neglect antenna effects. © 2024 IEEE.

Honeybees are vital for pollination and food production. Among many factors, extreme temperature (e.g., due to climate change) is particularly dangerous for bee health. Anticipating such extremities would allow beekeepers to take early preventive action. Thus, given sensor (temperature) time series data from beehives, how can we find patterns and do forecasting? Forecasting is crucial as it helps spot unexpected behavior and thus issue warnings to the beekeepers. In that case, what are the right models for forecasting? ARIMA, RNNs, or something else? We propose the EBV (Electronic Bee-Veterinarian) method, which has the following desirable properties: (i) principled: it is based on a) diffusion equations from physics and b) control theory for feedback-loop controllers;(ii) effective: it works well on multiple, real-world time sequences, (iii) explainable: it needs only a handful of parameters (e.g., bee strength) that beekeepers can easily understand and trust, and (iv) scalable: it performs linearly in time. We applied our method to multiple real-world time sequences, and found that it yields accurate forecasting (up to 49% improvement in RMSE compared to baselines), and segmentation. Specifically, discontinuities detected by EBV mostly coincide with domain expert's opinions, showcasing our approach's potential and practical feasibility. Moreover, EBV is scalable and fast, taking about 20 minutes on a stock laptop for reconstructing two months of sensor data. Copyright © 2024 by SIAM.

Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) has made significant accomplishments over the past few years while the implications of it are quite extensive and are found in different domains. In this paper, a deep learning-based architecture is proposed for FER where we mainly focus on the main components, including dataset preparation;preprocessing methods;feature extraction techniques;classification algorithm;and XAI approaches. The proposed model based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) operates with feature extraction from facial images. Preprocessing techniques such as resizing, normalization, and augmentation are used to elevate the quality and variety of the dataset. Due to the architecture of VGG16 and ResNet50, we implement three CNN models to extract discriminant features from facial expressions. Meanwhile, each model works as a classifier so that it can make accurate classifications. On the other hand, we use saliency maps to give the model the computation process in a more interpretable manner. Through multiple experimentation and evaluation, the established model shown the high accuracy of the regional analysis of facial emotions, and, as a result, FE R systems can be updated by the improved performance and explainability. © 2024 IEEE.

Cochlear implants (CIs) are neural prosthetics which use an array of implanted electrodes to improve hearing in patients with severe-to-profound hearing loss. After implantation, the CI is programmed by audiologists who adjust various parameters to optimize hearing performance for the patient. Without knowing which auditory nerve fibers (ANFs) are being stimulated by each electrode, this process can require dozens of programming sessions and often does not lead to optimal programming. The internal auditory canal (IAC) houses the ANFs as they travel from the implantation site, the cochlea, to the brain. In this paper, we present a method for localizing the IAC in a CT image by deforming an atlas IAC mesh to a CT image using a 3D U-Net. Our results suggest this method is more accurate than an active shape model-based method when tested on a test set of 20 images with ground truth. This IAC segmentation can be used to infer the position of the invisible ANFs to assist with patient-specific CI programming. © 2023 SPIE.

Modern compilers often offer a variety of warning flags, which developers can enable to get feedback on code that, while syntactically correct, may be problematic. In the case of C++, one example of such 'correct but problematic' code is code that leads to undefined behavior (UB). The usage of compiler warnings has long been suspected as a way to decrease bugs and increase code quality. However, empirical evidence that supports this hypothesis is rare. In this study, we present evidence from a study of 127 open source C++ projects. We categorize their usage of compiler warnings into five groups based on which warning flags are being used, and analyse the relationship between compiler warnings and five quality metrics (bugs, critical issues, vulnerabilities, code smells, and technical debt) using Bayesian analysis. We conclude that, in general, compiler warnings indeed correlate with, and potentially cause, higher code quality, with the clearest impact being on the number of critical issues in a project. Using stricter warning flags expectantly correlates with higher code quality in our study objects. However, there are substantial differences between projects, which we attribute to the project's individual development culture. That is, while warnings matter, other factors such as quality culture, are likely to be even more important to source code quality. © 2024 ACM.

This paper presents the development of an automated solar panel cleaning robot aimed at addressing the inefficiencies and practical challenges associated with manual cleaning in large-scale solar energy systems. The robot integrates a lightweight aluminum bridge with wheeled legs that traverse parallel rails mounted on the panels. It features a centrally mounted four-wheel car chassis, a microfiber wiper on an aluminum rod, and a water-spraying nozzle. The system is powered by lithium batteries and managed by an Arduino Mega, interfacing with various sensors and a Bluetooth module for communication with a mobile application. The software supports user control for initiating cleaning cycles, monitoring the robot's status and water levels, and receiving alerts for low water or emergencies. The operational process involves spraying water, moving forward while wiping, automatically stopping water flow upon reaching panel limits, and returning to the parking position, with autonomous obstruction handling. Extensive testing confirms that the robot meets all requirements, providing a reliable and efficient solution for maintaining solar panel performance. © 2025 IEEE.

Dhaka, known for its status as one of the world's most densely populated areas, grapples with numerous challenges associated with urbanization and safety. This study identifies accident-prone zones within the Dhaka Metropolitan City by analyzing data collected from 2019 to 2023. Ten specific locations were investigated using various machine learning models: Decision Tree Classifier, Gradient Boosting Classifier, Random Forest, Gaussian Naive Bayes, and Logistic Regression. Evaluation metrics, including precision, recall, accuracy, F1-score, and standard deviation, were utilized, with the Random Forest classifier exhibiting the highest accuracy at 94.39%. The analysis encompassed both monthly and annual accident data, revealing trends and probabilities associated with different incident types. The study's implications suggest potential advancements in accident investigation by incorporating advanced machine learning techniques, integrating diverse datasets, and expanding the geographical coverage to encompass the entire metropolitan area. This comprehensive approach aims to bolster accident prevention measures and enhance urban safety. Overall, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of accident-prone regions and proposes strategies for targeted interventions to improve safety within metropolitan areas. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increasing popularity and complexity of microservice software systems, satisfying the performance requirements of these systems becomes a non-trivial task. While horizontal auto-scaling is a common remedy to this problem, it is not necessarily cost-effective and the proper solution for all scenarios. Also, regardless of the number of replicas, they are all prone to common bug failure. In this poster/demo, we present an agile and cost-effective approach for satisfying the performance requirements of microservice software systems without incurring extra costs on the service provider. We research how performance, i.e., response time, can be tamed by applying software diversity, aka multi-versioning, to the system's resource-heavy critical services. We use our open-source extension of the Docker framework, called DockerMV, to deploy microservice systems with multi-versioning embedded underneath. We also propose a dynamic load-balancing service that proactively adapts to the various versions depending on current and near-future performance needs. We demonstrate the efficacy of multi-versioning for satisfying the performance requirements of microservice software systems through extensive experiments on TeaStore, a microservice reference test application, and Znn, a containerized news portal.
