The research focuses on the process of creating a data warehouse to meet the decision-making needs of a Greek beverage company. The data cover the period from 2018 to 2022. The developed data warehouse schema follows the star schema, with one fact table and five-dimension tables. Based on this structure, a web application was developed in PHP, which displays reports, charts, and analyses on the company's performance through interactive queries. Additionally, prediction functions tailored to the company's data were developed in Python. The process followed, the queries for creating the data warehouse, as well as the commands for creating analyses and predictions, serve as a useful guide for other companies that wish to upgrade the capabilities of their ERP systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Assessing the behavior and welfare of chickens is crucial for successful chicken rearing and product quality. Recent research has focused on using advanced cameras and computer vision technologies to analyze chicken behavior. This camera-based approach captures high-resolution video footage, which is then processed using computer vision algorithms to extract insights on movement patterns, feeding behavior, and social interactions. While this approach has advanced our understanding, there is a need for studies employing a frame-by-frame analysis to obtain fine-grained details of chicken behavior. This method allows for precise measurements and real-Time analysis, facilitating informed decision-making in chicken farming. To expedite the assessment process, a bandpass filter 470 nm lens is incorporated into the camera setup, optimizing image segmentation and reducing processing time. The proposed system combines this specialized camera with frame-by-frame calculations to track and measure the velocity, acceleration, and position of chickens within a flock. The integration of these technologies holds the potential for improving our understanding of chicken behavior, enhancing welfare, and driving data-driven decision-making in chicken farming practices. © 2023 IEEE.

Electric vehicles, or EVs, have drawn a lot of attention lately as an eco-friendly way to cut carbon emissions and lessen reliance on fossil fuels. This work uses a neural network model called Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), which is effective at processing sequential input, to analyze user attitudes toward electric vehicles. Opinion data were gathered from the social media network Twitter between March 1st and March 31st, 2023, using the keyword "electric vehicles". Based on the obtained opinion data, the LSTM approach is utilized to categorize sentiments as positive or negative. Implementation of the random oversampling technique is important to be applied in increasing the accuracy of the n recall model for the specified class. The study's conclusions show that the LSTM model performs admirably when it comes to sentiment analysis using the test dataset. The model evaluation yields a precision of 99.65% and an accuracy rating of 97.79%. The modeling process is carried out with variance splitting data where the highest accuracy is obtained from a comparison of training testing data of 90%: 10%. © 2024 IEEE.

We consider AI inference and generative query processing in distributed systems: an increasingly popular edgecomputing use case. In such systems, coscheduling of GPU memory management and task placement represents a promising opportunity. We propose Navigator, a novel framework that unifies these functions to reduce job latency while using resources efficiently, placing tasks where data dependencies will be satisfied collocating tasks from the same job (when this will not overload the host or its GPU), and efficiently managing GPU memory Comparison with other state of the art schedulers shows a significant reduction in completion times while requiring the same amount or even fewer resources. In one case, just half the servers were needed for processing the same workload. © 2024 IEEE.

In this research study, we present a novel design of a four-fingered robotic hand for T-FLoW 4.0 humanoid robot along with its experiments to validate its grasping performance. Our proposed robotic hand designed with four fingers and five Degree-of-Freedom (DoF), with a configuration of a thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers to remain within the criteria of an anthropomorphic type robot hand. Our hand is built with a modular design on each finger and its mechanism, allowing for easy assembly and achieving a compact hand result. Main controller Arduino Mega implement the system for grasping movement, and then PCA9685 PWM controller get the hand movement instructions from it and generates the required PWM signal for the servo motors. The process of manufacturing the hand involves 3D printing technology to produce hands with a realistic appearance, and use PLA filament material achieve lightweight, affordable, and easy-To-maintain outcomes. The grasping experimental results show that our proposed robotic hand could perform basic grasping movements on household objects. With the use of Cini's taxonomy of grasp as the hand functionality standard, we achieved a success rate of 8 out of 14 tests conducted. © 2023 IEEE.

Psychiatric disorders, including bipolar disorder, depression, and schizophrenia, pose substantial public health challenges due to the intricate nature of their diagnosis and management. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals offer a noninvasive method to assess autonomic nervous system function, which is frequently dysregulated in these conditions. However, conventional ECG analysis techniques often require prolonged recordings and extensive preprocessing, limiting their applicability in real-time or large-scale settings. This study presents an approach leveraging Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks for medical data classification, specifically for the identification of psychiatric disorders using ultra-short, raw ECG signals. Our methodology efficiently captures the temporal dynamics of ECG signals within brief windows, significantly reducing the need for extensive preprocessing and manual feature extraction. The proposed LSTM-based classifier achieved an impressive mean accuracy of 97.12% ± 0.006, underscoring its precision and efficacy in distinguishing between different psychiatric conditions. Our findings indicate that LSTM networks, with their capacity to effectively model complex temporal patterns in short ECG recordings, represent a promising advancement in the diagnostic landscape of psychiatry. © 2025 IEEE.

Fog computing is a rapidly evolving domain within information technology and enterprise computing, providing organisations with the opportunity to greatly improve efficiency and productivity. This is particularly pertinent in developing countries, where effective resource utilisation is critical. Despite its potential, there has been limited research on the factors influencing the adoption of fog computing in Saudi Arabia, as well as the associated benefits and challenges. This study seeks to fill this gap by examining the various factors, advantages, and obstacles related to fog computing adoption within Saudi Arabian public organisations. To address the absence of a context-specific model, we employed a mixed-methods approach, gathering qualitative data through semi-structured interviews with 15 IT managers, revealing that complexity was the sole factor hindering adoption. Quantitative data was then collected from 665 IT managers and employees to validate the framework’s constructs, showing that privacy, complexity, awareness, and senior management support were insignificant among 12 factors in influencing adoption intention. The quantitative analysis complements these findings, indicating that while the majority of factors significantly influence the adoption process, a portion of the factors were found to be insignificant. Findings from both qualitative and quantitative analyses highlight the importance of technical, organisational, environmental, and financial contexts in the adoption process. These insights provide valuable guidance for IT managers in the Saudi public sector, emphasising the need to consider these factors comprehensively to achieve successful fog computing implementation. © 2025 Proceedings of the International Conferences IADIS Information Systems 2025 and e-Society 2025. Deterministic Finite Wheeler Automata are a natural generalisation to regular languages of the theory of compressed data structures originated by the introduction of the Burrows-Wheeler transform. Indeed, if we can find a Wheeler automaton recognizing a given language L, such automaton can be used to design time and space efficient algorithms for representing and searching L. In this paper we introduce an alternative representation of Deterministic Wheeler Automata by showing that a natural map between strings and rational numbers in Qr0, 1q can be extended to represent the automaton’s states as intervals in Qr0, 1q. Using this representation it emerges a natural relationship between automata properties and some properties of real numbers. In addition, such representation enables us to formulate problems related to automata in a numerical setting. Although at the moment the numerical approach does not lead to time efficient algorithms, we believe this new perspective deserves further consideration. As a further demonstration of the convenience of this new representation, we use it to provide a simple proof of an unexpected result on regular languages. More precisely, we compare the size of the smallest Wheeler automaton recognizing a given language L with respect to the size of the smallest automaton, possibly non-Wheeler, recognizing the same language. A novel embedded controller is proposed for the management of electrical consumption in residential installations. The proposed system is designed to implement well-established DSM techniques. It can be placed directly into the electrical board of a residential circuit and can be connected to the smart grid. The controller is based on a PIC microcontroller and incorporates a series of perceptrons which adjust the duty cycle of PWM modules according to user defined preferences. The system is tested in laboratory conditions and is proved to be able to adjust the total current to a predefined threshold, without violating user comfort and priorities. The proposed embedded controller is a flexible solution in the form of a final product, ready for the smart grid and able to support microgrids. © 2024 IEEE.

The requirements for university graduation were changed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in August 2023, where a thesis is no longer required and can be replaced with another form. The existence of this regulation has caused discussion in the community with various responses visible through social media Instagram. Instagram has become a forum for sharing the latest topics for the public, causing the emergence of online media accounts such as Folkative. This research aims to analyze sentiment regarding the policy of eliminating thesis obligations at universities through data collected from comments on Folkative's Instagram account posts. Sentiment analysis was carried out using Logistic Regression for classification, K-Fold Cross Validation for data validation, Confusion Matrix for evaluation, and ADASYN to resolve data imbalances. The data collected from the scraping process was 4,172 comments. After carrying out the classification and performance evaluation process, the best method produced was a combination of Logistic Regression and ADASYN achieving results of 89.6% accuracy, 91.5% precision, 87.7% recall, and f-1 score 89.5%. This shows that the performance of the Logistic Regression method is good and suitable for use as a classification model in this research. © 2024 IEEE.
