Our study on Legal Judgment Prediction (LJP) focuses on indictments, designing innovative tasks for prosecutors to predict reasons, imprisonment, fines, and penalty types. We investigated multi-task learning (MTL), Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), and its quantized version (QLoRA). Results show that the MTL framework, combined with LoRA and QLoRA, excels in prediction while optimizing resource use. Error analysis in the Reason field of TWPJD dataset was conducted to guide future predictions. Future work will focus on balancing sub-task performance and collecting more investigative data to enhance legal AI applications. © 2024 The Authors.

The Network Digital Twin is emerging as a promising technology for future networks, including 6G, as it allows to gain deep knowledge of its Physical Twin and to perform 'what-if' analyses in a controlled environment. However, while the concept of Digital Twin reached maturity in other fields (such as manufacturing), still the application of this concept to networks presents some relevant challenges. This paper studies the problem of synchronization between the Digital and the Physical Twin, a key functionality to enable the Digital Twin to accurately replicate the behaviour of the Physical Twin. Indeed, accurate synchronization is challenging due to the amount of data to exchange and the delays due to acquisition, modeling and transmission of the related information. The paper analyzes the delay chain in the synchronization process and introduces the concept of 'negative delay' through accurate prediction in order to minimize the synchronization delay and enable real-time or 'near' real-time synchronization between the Physical and the Digital Twin. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, the Sri Lankan tea industry has fallen behind its competitors in the global tea market. This decline is caused by the challenges in productivity and resource management due to the limitations of traditional crop monitoring methods. This study presents a prototype system architecture that integrates multispectral imagery and IoT technologies to enhance plantation monitoring. The proposed system uses drones to capture high-resolution multispectral images and IoT devices to collect real-time environmental data, providing a comprehensive approach to assessing plant yield and detecting stress. Built on a hexagonal architecture, the system emphasizes modularity, reliability, and scalability by ensuring a clear separation of core functionalities from external components. This design facilitates easy adaptation to various crop types and agricultural contexts, enabling flexibility in deployment and use. This flexible framework can serve as a blueprint for improving decision-making and management practices across diverse plantation environments. © 2025 IEEE.

With the emergence of various techniques involved in deep learning the researchers of computer vision tends to focus on the strategies such as object recognition and segmentation of image. This has inclined to accomplish the deep learning techniques in 3D reconstruction of both specific and generic objects. As the space for reconstruction of 3D images either in single or multi view has envisioned the researchers to concentrate on the available technologies used for reconstruction. With the available built in methods and technologies in deep learning, the performance of the proposed methods were reviewed and analyzed using several parameters. As the remaking of 2D images is still in the beginning stage, it is important to study the 3D shape representations, various network architecture, methodologies and approaches behind 3D reconstruction. In this work a review of deep learning methods for single or multiple RGB images of specific and generic object 3D reconstruction was done. Several methods and their importance were also discussed along with the challenges encountered and with further research directions. This paper critically analyzes the various 3D Shaped Representations, 3D Data Network Architectures, dept. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, impacting the quality of life for millions of individuals worldwide. Timely and accurate detection of epileptic seizures is crucial for proper diagnosis and effective treatment. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals provide vital information about brain activity and serve as a valuable tool for epilepsy detection. The methodology opted for this study was an enhanced multilayer feed forward neural network for automatic detection of epilepsy from EEG signals and hence predicting the severity. The authors build a multistage cascaded neural network model for achieving the same. Initially a Simple Artificial Neural Network (SimpleANN) is designed to classify EEG segments into seizure, healthy and interictal. Later a Multilayer Feed Forward Neural Network (MFFNN) is employed for detecting the severity of epileptic patients and hence can be classified into primary and secondary stages. The experimental results showed that the proposed SimpleANN classifier had provided noticeable results, and outperforms all tested classifiers. The study involves the collection of EEG data from a diverse group of patients, including those with epilepsy and healthy individuals. This automated epilepsy identifying system passes through different stages including decomposition, feature extraction for achieving a better performance model. The proposed system was tested and compared with SVM, KNN, MLP and Decision Tree under different measurement metrics. ANN has managed to give an accuracy of 80 - 90% which is significantly higher as compared to other machine learning models. The proposed work can automatically learn complex patterns from EEG data provides an advantage in identifying subtle seizure related features that may not be evident through manual analysis. Furthermore, the model offers real-time capabilities, making it suitable for continuous monitoring of patients at risk of seizures. © 2024 IEEE.

Recognition of human activities has drawn a lot of interest lately in the field of computer vision and machine learning. Group activity recognition is a significant subcategory in which several people participate in a common activity. The primary obstacle in these tasks is learning the relationships between individuals in a scene and understanding their evolution over time. The suggested study offers a new taxonomy to classify state-of-the-art (SOTA) group activity recognition approaches and subcategorizes the current literature. It also critically analyzes these techniques. To understand scenes involving multiple people, models must describe individual actions in context and infer collective activities. Accurately capturing relationships between actors and performing relational reasoning is crucial for comprehending group activities. However, modelling these relationships is challenging due to the limited availability of interaction information, relying only on individual action labels and collective activity labels. Inferring relationships from other aspects is thus essential. Group activity recognition has garnered increased research attention recently due to its importance in video understanding. The difficulties lie not only in recognizing individual actions but also in exploring scene information and collaborative relations among people. This research addresses these challenges by providing a comprehensive review of existing techniques, offering a structured approach to categorize them, and highlighting the importance of relational reasoning in understanding group activities. © 2024 IEEE.

The proposed system on enhancing human activity recognition in yoga presents an innovative solution using advanced technologies to accurately and quickly analyze data of yoga poses. Through meticulous data collection and preprocessing, including noise removal, normalization, and handling missing data, the system ensures a clean and standardized dataset. Pose estimation algorithms contribute to accurately mapping the body's posture, extracting essential features like joint angles and body orientation. The features form the basis for a powerful machine learning model, trained on a labelled dataset and employing neural networks, enabling the system to recognize yoga poses with remarkable precision. The study embraces an iterative enhancement process, continuously refining the model based on feedback and performance metrics, ensuring ongoing improvements in accuracy. According to present scenario, now a days it is often observed during shopping groceries, vegetables, fruits and other needs in malls, markets, bazaars etc. There is a huge rush, billing of the cart products will be delayed due to more number of customers standing in queues at every bill counter especially on holidays and weekends. This leads to loss of valuable time of customers, To overcome these kind of situations, a simple solution is introduced that is "Smart Shopping Cart" using Convolution Neural Network (CNN). This smart cart is connected to cameras that are connected to webpage through hot spot which acts as a sensor, which sense the image of the products and process that image, the model processes the image only if the product is trained, tested and stored in the database. After processing the product image it identifies the product and add the product to the bill. To add the product to the bill we have used a high level pre-trained API known as Tensor flow which acts as a communication link between the sensor and webpage. If the product is removed from the cart then the product will be removed from the bill list. By implementing this model we can save the time of both seller and consumer and avoid misuse of billings. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2023.

Extended playing techniques are a crucial characteristic of contemporary double bass practice. Players find their voice by developing a personal vocabulary of techniques through practice and experimentation. These player-idiosyncratic techniques are used in composition, performance, and improvisation. Today’s AI methods offer the opportunity to recognize such techniques and repurpose them in real-time, leading to new forms of interactions between musicians and machines. This paper is the result of a collaboration between a composer/double-bass player and researchers, born from the musician’s desire for an interactive improvisational experience with AI centered around the practice of his extended techniques. With this aim, we developed Esteso: an interactive improvisational system based on extended technique recognition, live electronics, and a timbre-transfer double-bass model. We evaluated our system with the musician with three duet improvisational sessions, each using different mapping strategies between the techniques and the sound of the virtual double bass counterpart. We collected qualitative data from the musician to gather insights about the three configurations and the corresponding improvisational duets, as well as investigate the resulting interactions. We provide a discussion about the outcomes of our analysis and draw more general design considerations. © 2024, International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression.
