Responding to inefficiencies in traditional classroom management methods, this paper proposes an innovative, technology-driven approach to enhance educational processes. Central to our proposal is the development of a facial recognition system designed for efficient student attendance tracking, thus eliminating time-consuming roll calls. Additionally, we plan to introduce interactive whiteboard features to enrich classroom dynamics between students and faculty. However, our approach extends beyond mere attendance tracking and interactive learning. We aim to launch a Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLO) mapper. Leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, this tool will auto-align CLOs with PLOs, facilitating a more efficient curriculum development process. We also suggest implementing a feature powered by YOLOv5 to monitor and assess student attention in the classroom. Our comprehensive suite of tools is designed to equip educators with resources to refine their teaching strategies and boost student learning outcomes. By integrating facial recognition for attendance, interactive whiteboard features, NLP-based CLO/PLO mapping, and attention monitoring, we aspire to provide a robust solution enabling educators to adapt their teaching methods to students' unique needs. © 2023 IEEE.

In anticipation of the 5G-Advanced and 6G era, this paper explores Open RAN as an innovative solution to enhance the existing Radio Access network (RAN) capabilities, particularly in managing the surge in mobile traffic. The O-RAN Alliance has made significant strides in this domain, particularly by releasing a comprehensive standard document addressing potential security threats and necessary countermeasures within Open RAN frameworks. A critical aspect of these standards is the emphasis on safeguarding the E2 interface-linking the NearRT RIC and RAN nodes-against Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks, with IPsec proposed as a key defensive mechanism. Our study, however, reveals a vulnerability: the E2 interface remains susceptible to ARP spoofing, a variant of MitM attacks. This paper presents detailed simulation results to demonstrate this security flaw and delves into the potential ramifications on the E2 interface's functionality and integrity. Our findings underscore the need for revisiting and reinforcing security protocols in the evolving landscape of Open RAN networks. © 2024 IEEE.

As we embrace the dawn of the 5G era, the fusion of Software Defined network (SDN) and network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies has heralded a new epoch in network architecture. This provides indispensable capabilities and virtualized infrastructure to meet the burgeoning demands of modern networks. Yet, with each stride forward in mobile communication technology, security threats loom larger, casting a shadow over the very fabric of our networks. In this context, identifying and addressing these threats is crucial as it plays a key role in enhancing the security of a 5G-Advanced and a next 6G mobile communication technologies. Therefore, this paper undertakes an investigative journey to explore security threats introduced by SDN/NFV technologies in the 5G-Advanced core networks. Through our simulations, we unveil a need for fortified security technologies within the 5G-Advanced core networks, illuminating a path towards the creation of bespoke datasets tailored for the trends of 5G-Advanced security research. © 2024 IEEE.

A circuit technique for increasing the maximum slew rate (SR) of the output voltage of a classical CBJT operational amplifier (OpAmp) with an AB class input stage, which has become the basis for several commercially available microcircuits, is discussed. For this purpose, two additional differentiating capacitors are provided in the input stage to increase the SR by 1-2 orders of magnitude. The results of computer simulation of the CBJT OpAmp for a typical silicon technological process with micron topological standard are presented, which showed that the SRmax limits for the falling edge of the transient increase from 123V/µs to 12000V/µs. The OpAmp considered in this article is intended for use in a subclass of so-called discrete-to-analog SC filters on switched capacitors, which (in some important cases) require higher SR values. In addition, the use of such OpAmp is relevant in drivers of high-speed analog-to-digital converters and other devices of automatics and computer engineering. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing adoption of autonomous vehicles has driven the need for robust data management solutions that support real-time operations and ensure vehicle safety and efficiency. This work introduces a cloud-based framework for management of sensor data from autonomous vehicles, focusing on optimizing payload transmission rates. The framework leverages AWS IoT Core and AWS IoT Analytics to ensure efficient data flow from vehicle sensors to cloud storage. This framework demonstrates its potential for scalable deployment in real-world autonomous vehicle networks, contributing to the evolution of connected vehicle technologies and intelligent transport systems. This framework ensures reliable data transmission up to 250 payloads per second, beyond which data loss occurs. © 2025 IEEE.

As the variety of video content increases, so does the likelihood of data breaches of sensitive personal information. Consequently, several video de-identification techniques have been developed to protect personal data, alongside ongoing research into video encryption technology, which offers the advantage of decryption to obtain the original video without storing a separate video copy. While it is possible to visually evaluate whether individual encrypted frames have been correctly de-identified, human interpretation makes this method vulnerable to subjective bias. Many video encryption studies employ traditional image quality evaluation metrics, such as peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity index measure (SSIM), to objectively demonstrate the de-identification of encrypted videos. However, these metrics prove to be insufficiently effective for this purpose. These image metrics can measure the de-identification rate of a single frame in encrypted videos, but not the entire video. This study introduces a quantitative analysis method to confirm de-identification in fully encrypted videos. In this study, we measured the de-identification rates of all frames of encrypted videos using a weighted sum of SSIM and edge differential ratio. We also measured the de-identification rate of a fully encrypted video. Finally, we graphically analyzed these data using line charts. This objective methodology enabled the identification of portions of the encrypted video where de-identification techniques may not have been appropriately applied. © 2024 IEEE.

Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as small airborne base stations is gradually becoming a research hotspot in the field of wireless communications. With the flexible deployment, wide coverage and low cost, UAV communications show great potential in the fields of emergency rescue, environmental monitoring and military operations. In particular, the easier availability of line-of-sight (LOS) links for UAVs makes its combination with millimetre wave (mmWave) technology significantly enhance the communication bandwidth and data transfer rate. However, the very limited coverage of mmWave communications greatly affects the actual data rates provided by small aerial base stations of mmWave UAVs, especially considering user movement on the ground. In this paper, we study the joint optimisation problem of UAV deployment, user association, spectrum resource allocation in millimetre-wave heterogeneous networks, and explore the impact of different user movement models on system performance. Given that this problem is NP-hard, our paper proposes an MCR-SAC method to maximize the network's total throughput. Simulation results demonstrate an average 18% improvement in total transmission rate compared to the conventional. © 2024 IEEE.

The industrial sector has entered a phase of profound change which sees digital technologies being integrated into the heart of industrial processes. This fourth industrial era gives birth to a new generation of factory called 'Digital Factory', 'Industry 4.0'. This industrial change is the result of the integration of new digital technologies into manufacturing processes and the optimization of energy consumption. The commitment to the environment is also a key and success factor of Industry 4.0 and green in particular the reduction of carbon emissions and pollution. This is how smart green industry try to take in charge the problem of energy consumption and to reduce the Co2 pollution. The goal of this paper is to present the new model of smart green industry using distributed artificial intelligence based on multi-agent system (MAS). The motivation to use the intelligent approach based on MAS is based on the similarity between the fundamental concepts of the cyber-physical system and those contained in the architecture and operation of MAS such as communication, coordination, decision and cooperation. © 2023 IEEE.

The outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has had a profound impact on education worldwide. The rise of remote learning is one of the most significant changes in this regard, as many schools and universities were forced to close down by regional health authorities. This has also caused people to become more conservative in trade-offs between healthcare and education. Google Trends is the most common tool for analyzing online search behaviors. It is a free resource that provides information on the trends and changes in users' online interests over time based on certain terms and subjects. The online search queries on Google can be used to assess users' behaviors concerning online learning to forecast their choices regarding online education. This paper examines the frequency of users' web searches for online communication tools, courses, and learning terms. We statistically compared users in the Middle East and North Africa regions by using the volumes of searches recorded on Google Trends from January 2016 to August 2022. Moreover, we used machine learning techniques to identify differences among the keywords used. The findings statistically show that COVID-19 has led to an increase in the extent of students' attention to and interest in online learning. © 2023 IEEE.

Facial expression recognition (FER) in an uncontrolled environment presents a formidable challenge in affective computing and human-machine interaction domains. Existing FER models fail to generalize due to the innate expression nature of the intra-class separability and inter-class compactness. Although most state-of-the-art FER research focuses on more advanced frameworks and well-separated discriminative loss functions, further exploration is needed to obtain high-quality expression features. This paper proposes a robust feature enhancement approach for FER by integrating the De-pooling Feature Enhancement and Weighted Exponential Moving Average (WEMA) of Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD). The proposed method utilizes De-Pooling Feature Enhancement to capture and enhance the high-quality expression features, while WEMA of SGD optimizes the training process for improved stability and convergence. Our extensive experimental analysis of benchmark datasets signifies that our proposed method prevails over state-of-the-art methods, achieving superior accuracy performances of 86.43% on FER2013, 94.97% on FERPlus, 94.71% on RAF-DB, as well as 80.62% and 72.90% on AffectNet, of 7 class and 8 class, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.
