We consider a multi-cluster relay interference network and design relay beam matrix for each cluster to maximize the minimum signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio (SINR) at destinations subject to the relay power budget within each cluster. We propose a structured relay beam matrix as a weighted sum of two types of beam matrices: zero forcing (ZF) beam matrix for inter-cluster interference suppression and maximum ratio combing (MRC) beam matrix for maximizing beamforming gain within a cluster. The optimal beam matrix for each type is obtained with a closed-form solution. We then obtain the optimal weights to each type of beam matrix by transforming the max-min SINR problem and solving it via the SDR approach. Comparing with applying the direct SDR approach to the original problem, our solution offers similar performance with significantly lower computational complexity. In addition, our proposed structured beam matrix clearly revealed the power shift between interference suppression among clusters and beamforming gain maximization within the cluster as the distance among clusters changes.

This paper describes the specification, modelling and design of an ontology-based news authoring environment for the Semantic Web, that takes into account the construction and use of an ontology of the Zika disease. CMSs are being adapted in order to receive semantic features, such as automatic generations of keywords, semantic annotation and tagging, content reviewing etc. We present here the infrastructure designed to foster research on semantic CMSs as well as semantic web technologies that can be integrated into an ontology-based news authoring environment.

We consider a mobile cloud computing system consisting of multiple users, one computing access point (CAP), and one remote cloud server. The CAP can either process the received tasks from mobile users or offload them to the cloud. We aim to jointly optimize the offloading decisions of all users and the CAP, together with communication and processing resource allocation, to minimize the overall cost of energy, computation, and the maximum delay among all users. It is shown that the problem can be formulated as a non-convex quadratically constrained quadratic program, which is NP-hard in general. We further propose an efficient solution to this problem by semidefinite relaxation and a novel randomization mapping method. Our simulation results show that the proposed algorithm gives nearly optimal performance with only a small number of randomization iterations.

A compact microstrip line fed tapered-shaped slotted ultra-wideband(UWB) antenna is presented. The new design is composed of a rectangular slotted patch with a compact size of 21.44 × 23.53 mm 2 and fed by microstrip transmission line of 50 Ω. The proposed antenna is simulated onto a less expensive FR4 substrate which has a height of 1.6 mm. There achieved a wider bandwidth of 8.51 GHz (3.49-12 GHz) with good impedance matching, constant gain, 5.76 dBi of maximum gain and stable radiation pattern results in the proposed antenna more appropriate for using UWB communication applications compared to existing antennas. The proposed antenna is designed and simulated in HFSS and CST Microwave Studio software to see the antenna performance.

Automation of functional size measurement (FSM) process has increasingly gained importance since manual measurement is time-consuming, costly, and sometimes errorprone. There exist studies that automate measurement from different software artifacts such as requirements specifications, design models, and software code. In this study we review and compare four studies that we have carried out in recent years to automate COSMIC FSM from software code. Based on the comparison and the lessons learned, we derive an operational scenario for automated FSM from software code and propose a set of requirements that need to be considered in automation. We think the proposal will be helpful not only for our future studies and also for future work of interested researchers.

Review on requirements modeling and analysis for self-adaptive systems: A ten-year perspective

Context: Over the last decade, software researchers and engineers have developed a vast body of methodologies and technologies in requirements engineering for self-adaptive systems. Although existing studies have explored various aspects of this field, no systematic study has been performed on summarizing modeling methods and corresponding requirements activities. Objective: This study summarizes the state-of-the-art research trends, details the modeling methods and corresponding requirements activities, identifies relevant quality attributes and application domains and assesses the quality of each study. Method: We perform a systematic literature review underpinned by a rigorously established and reviewed protocol. To ensure the quality of the study, we choose 21 highly regarded publication venues and 8 popular digital libraries. In addition, we apply text mining to derive search strings and use Kappa coefficient to mitigate researchers' disagreements. Results: We selected 109 papers during the period of 2003-2013 and presented the research distributions over various kinds of factors. We extracted 29 modeling methods which are classified into 8 categories and identified 14 requirements activities which are classified into 4 requirements timelines. We captured 8 concerned software quality attributes based on the ISO 9126 standard and 12 application domains. Conclusion: The frequency of application of modeling methods varies greatly. Enterprise models were more widely used while behavior models were more rigorously evaluated. Requirements-driven runtime adaptation was the most frequently studied requirements activity. Activities at runtime were conveyed with more details. Current authentication systems in mobile devices such as smart phones have many shortcomings. Users tend to use simple textual passwords such as PINs, which are easily cracked by intruders. Meanwhile, graphical passwords suffer from shoulder surfing attack. In this paper, a new authentication system using 3D graphical passwords, will be proposed and tested to offer more security for mobile devices. This authentication system allows users to interact with the 3D objects in a 3D virtual environment and these actions are tracked in the virtual environment and used to create unique passwords. Based on the previous studies of the 3D password scheme, this paper developed a simple testing program that enables users to create their own 3D password easily. At the end of the paper, some improvements of the program and this authentication system are discussed.

software stakeholders, including developers, managers, and end users, require high quality software products. Several works have aimed to identify software quality, but the quality of software products is often not comprehensively, specifically, or effectively defined because previous approaches have focused on certain quality aspects. Moreover, the evaluation results of quality metrics often depend on software stakeholders so that it is often hard to compare quality evaluation results across software products. ISO/IEC has tried to define evaluation methods for the quality of software products and provide common standards, called the SQuaRE (Systems and software Quality Requirements and Evaluation) series including ISO/IEC 25022:2016 and ISO/IEC 25023:2016. However, the SQuaRE series include ambiguous metrics so that it is not always easy to apply the series to products and compare results. In this paper, we propose a SQuaRE-based software quality evaluation framework, which successfully concretized many product metrics and quality in use metrics originally defined in the SQuaRE series~1. Through a case study targeting a commercial software product, we confirmed that our framework is concretely applicable to the software package/service product.

Active self-paced learning for cost-effective and progressive face identification

This paper aims to develop a novel cost-effective framework for face identification, which progressively maintains a batch of classifiers with the increasing face images of different individuals. By naturally combining two recently rising techniques: active learning (AL) and self-paced learning (SPL), our framework is capable of automatically annotating new instances and incorporating them into training under weak expert recertification. We first initialize the classifier using a few annotated samples for each individual, and extract image features using the convolutional neural nets. Then, a number of candidates are selected from the unannotated samples for classifier updating, in which we apply the current classifiers ranking the samples by the prediction confidence. In particular, our approach utilizes the high-confidence and low-confidence samples in the self-paced and the active user-query way, respectively. The neural nets are later fine-tuned based on the updated classifiers. Such heuristic implementation is formulated as solving a concise active SPL optimization problem, which also advances the SPL development by supplementing a rational dynamic curriculum constraint. The new model finely accords with the "instructor-student-collaborative" learning mode in human education. The advantages of this proposed framework are two-folds: i) The required number of annotated samples is significantly decreased while the comparable performance is guaranteed. A dramatic reduction of user effort is also achieved over other state-of-the-art active learning techniques. ii) The mixture of SPL and AL effectively improves not only the classifier accuracy compared to existing AL/SPL methods but also the robustness against noisy data. We evaluate our framework on two challenging datasets, which include hundreds of persons under diverse conditions, and demonstrate very promising results. Recently, IPTV brings a lot of attraction because it is different from the traditional TV system in that it can provide the contents any time on users' demand. Many industries are starting new services based on IPTV expecting great growth of the market. From the static IPTV service, newer IPTV related service is considering openness. In Open IPTV, any user can send or receive the contents from another user, which means the customer can be the service provider at the same time. On top of the openness, mobility is another important concept to be considered in the IPTV industry. With the mobility and the openness, IPTV service has newer technical and security issues for reliable services. In this work, we propose a mutual authentication mechanism required between content provider and receiver. For communication, two users need to authenticate each other. Because of the openness and the mobility, the mechanism should be lightweight and dynamic. We have adopted Visual Cryptography and Steganography concept for efficient and lightweight authentication.
