This paper is devoted to multicomponent subspace codes with zero prefix (MZP) and their role in network coding. In fact, it is a collection of our results about multicomponent codes for last years. The MZP construction is described. The cardinality for different parameters is calculated. The efficiency as a ratio cardinality to the upper bound is estimated. It is shown that MZP additional components can increase cardinality up to 30 percents. The iterative decoding algorithm is presented. At the first stage of decoding it is necessary to obtain a MZP component and then, at the next stage to apply the decoding algorithm of Silva-Koetter-Kschischang (SKK) codes.

Online Adaption of Motion Paths to Time-Varying Constraints using Homotopies

This paper presents a method for optimal point-to-point control of linear discrete-time systems with time-varying non-convex state constraints, as arising for problems of avoiding moving obstacles. While common approaches like MPC with mixed-integer programming (MIP) can quickly become time-demanding, the presented approach efficiently computes circumventing near-optimal trajectories by using homotopy properties. In a first step, a range of offline selected trajectories is used to span a region of homotopic trajectories, for which the transitioning behavior between these is determined by semi-definite programming (SDP). The online part then determines with low computational effort a collision-free and near-optimal homotopic trajectory. The procedure maps the moving obstacles for relevant collision-critical time steps into the homotopy space, and determines a suitable trajectory by a tree-search of moderate size. The circumventing trajectories and the resulting computation times are illustrated by simulation. © 2017

Monocular semantic occupancy grid mapping with convolutional variational encoder-decoder networks

In this work, we research and evaluate end-to-end learning of monocular semantic-metric occupancy grid mapping from weak binocular ground truth. The network learns to predict four classes, as well as a camera to bird’s eye view mapping. At the core, it utilizes a variational encoder-decoder network that encodes the front-view visual information of the driving scene and subsequently decodes it into a 2-D top-view Cartesian coordinate system. The evaluations on Cityscapes show that the end-to-end learning of semantic-metric occupancy grids outperforms the deterministic mapping approach with flat-plane assumption by more than 12% mean IoU. Furthermore, we show that the variational sampling with a relatively small embedding vector brings robustness against vehicle dynamic perturbations, and generalizability for unseen KITTI data. Our network achieves real-time inference rates of approx. 35 Hz for an input image with a resolution of 256×512 pixels and an output map with 64×64 occupancy grid cells using a Titan V GPU. Energy system models underpin decisions by energy system planners and operators. Energy system modelling faces a transformation: accounting for changing meteorological conditions imposed by climate change. To enable that transformation, a community of practice in energy-climate modelling has started to form that aims to better integrate energy system models with weather and climate models. Here, we evaluate the disconnects between the energy system and climate modelling communities, then lay out a research agenda to bridge those disconnects. In the near-term, we propose interdisciplinary activities for expediting uptake of future climate data in energy system modelling. In the long-term, we propose a transdisciplinary approach to enable development of (1) energy-system-tailored climate datasets for historical and future meteorological conditions and (2) energy system models that can effectively leverage those datasets. This agenda increases the odds of meeting ambitious climate mitigation goals by systematically capturing and mitigating climate risk in energy sector decision making. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

Recently, in the field of education, learning methods called active learning and Global Project Based Learning are paying attention. We suggest education material and theme as the Global engineering PBL education. So we developed the learning kit of sequence control. That is simple positioning control system which consist of PLC, sensors and some balls. It looks like game board, but that can change difficulty of the problem that the angle is changed and the number of the sensor is changed. Students cooperate to solve the problem that many balls are caught. This will be active learning and be PBL of the Problem Based Learning. We investigate how student's Generic Skill grows by implementation of Global PBL. © 2018 IEEE.

Product oriented manufacturing is aligned with one of the Industry 4.0 trends consisting of integrating all production systems. This implies shifting from a traditional view of manufacturing processes focused on production line in order to reduce costs, to a more flexible and customized product manufacturing. On the other hand, Multi Agent systems (MAS) have been proved to be a suitable way to fulfill these requirements. However, a key aspect of the use of novel technologies is to offer methodologies and tools for supporting the implementation of such systems. In this sense, this paper uses Model Driven engineering and MAS technology to propose an architecture that is able to launch and execute a manufacturing execution plan. It focuses on the information models managed by architecture agents that can be customized to particular manufacturing plants as well as on the definition of agent templates.

The article is devoted to the construction of learning space conceptual model for preparation of GameHub computer game developers in higher education institutions. The concept consists of three main components: a methodological or pedagogical component, a technological component, an information component. The article describes processes scheme for developing of learning space infrastructure and reflects the interactions between GameHub participants. The article presents an example of such a scheme for magistracy students, bachelor's degree students and free listeners from one of the Ukrainian universities. An approach to the student knowledge diagnosis is described on the basis of writing and testing analysis. Highlighted results in this paper are useful as a guide for step-by-step organization and for supporting the functioning of game educational hubs in higher education institutions. The described concept includes basic tools that are necessary for effective student training organizing on the principles of computer game development. Learning space conceptual model can serve as foundation for the formation of professionals training implementation roadmap in gaming industry. The concept is proposed for implementation by universities and private IT companies interested in Serious Games industry development.

Multiple-kite Airborne Wind Energy systems (MAWES) aim to decrease inter-mittency and cost over conventional wind turbines, while generating more power than other airborne wind energy systems. The purpose of this work is to estimate whether axial and angular induction are relevant phenomena in the modelling of pumping-cycle MAWES with two or more kites. Considering the modelling assumptions, axial induction is a relevant phenomenon and leads to significant changes in design-point, especially with respect to kite mass and secondary tether length. However, angular induction can be neglected in modelling for optimal design and control problems. © 2017

Quadcopter is an unmanned aircraft that could be used as an image recorder at various view angle that can't be placed by a human. This research is done to planning, building and implement a quadcopter that is equipped with a camera. Then, we apply for a tracking object program in the quadcopter which is called image processing. Therefore, this research begins by designing the mechanical and electrical of the quadcopter. While the designing of the software is done by making image processing program using C++. Data collection is done by testing the device in each section. Based on the result of research and testing, the result shows that quadcopter could follow a straight moving human, then it turns 90° to right as far as 10 meters. But, there are any movements that we did not expect before, which is in the altitude of the quadcopter, it because of the instability of the loiter flight mode.

Global competition has resulted in changes on product demand which have to be managed by current manufacturing systems. In this context, modularity seems to be a suitable solution to provide manufacturing systems with the flexibility required to adapt to demand fluctuations when they occur, maintaining thus competitiveness and productivity. In concrete, machine modularity allows modifying a machine structure but it should be accomplished easily and rapidly. The current work proposes a model-driven methodology that allows modular machine definition and the automatic generation of the corresponding automation project, including the machine hardware configuration and its control software. It is based on the use of eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format and technologies for both model definition and code generation. The methodology has been implemented as a tool suite whose proof of concept has been developed for the particular case of the Siemens Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal) PLC programming tool.
