This paper proposes a 1.0kW grid-tied inverter system for fuel cells. Since the fuel cells in this study have a variable output voltage range of 30-70V, the high DC link voltage is required to obtain a 220V ac voltage at the output of the system. For this, a DC-DC converter with a high conversion ratio should be required. However, the achievement of high conversion ratio in DC-DC converters generally causes a difficulty to increase the efficiency of the entire system. To solve this difficulty a parallel-serial full bridge mode inverter was proposed. The proposed inverter basically has a grid-tie performance and a control of an unfavorable heater. Without the heater control, the unexpected high input voltages may appears due to the slow response time of fuel cells to a rapid change of output power of the system. The validity of the performances for the proposed inverter has been proved through experiments for the 1.0kW grid-tied inverter system built.

Detection and tracking are the critical problems of computer vision. It is essential pre-processing for other algorithms. In this paper, we present an efficient and robust detection and tracking algorithm which is based on morphological operation and dynamic filtering (HPDAF: Highest Probability Data Association Filter). In airborne IR imagery, objects are usually obscure and too small to recognize their shape. Therefore dynamic filtering approach can be the best solution for tracking. Several experimental results show that our proposed algorithm efficiently detects and tracks the object regardless of size and their shape consistency. Temporarily occluded targets can be handled track-termination and re-detect sequence of the proposed algorithm.

This paper considers a closed-loop force tracking system for an active valve lag damper intended for vibration reduction applications in helicopters. The mathematical model of the damper is treated in a simplified form and is the basis for controller design. Due to the inherent nonlinearity of the damper, a controller is constructed using concepts from nonlinear control, namely, nonlinear dynamic inversion (NDI). Tuning methods according to several frequency-domain requirements are introduced and a realistic simulation example demonstrates the effectiveness of the controller.
