The rapid evolution of consumer electronics demands increasingly complex hardware devices supporting a wide range of consumer needs. Designing and verifying such solutions is becoming more challenging. This paper introduces an automated approach for assessing the efficacy of implemented digital systems. Leveraging these insights, the proposed methodology aims to guide HDL designers, enabling them to identify and rectify errors more effectively. The proposed methodology is tested on the example of a relatively simple digital design on a population of twenty designers. The achieved results expose a significant increase in performance and quality in a relatively short time interval.

Grid-forming inverters is getting special attention of industries and academia due to their important role in the realization of microgrids. A crucial feature of them is to have an accurate voltage control. This paper proposes a digital phase lead-and-lag voltage control based on frequency response approach for single-phase half-bridge DC-AC converters. Initially, the system is modeled through the small-signal technique. Then, the controller is designed based on the frequency response approach. The discretization through Tustin and Backward methods are presented and compared. Moreover, designing the controller in discrete-time domain by conventional methods using the fictitious w-domain is also presented. The system is tested in a controller Hardware-in-Loop setup, where the power topology runs in the HIL402 device and the digital voltage controller runs in the TMS320FF28335 digital signal controllers. Scenarios like initialization, nonlinear load and oscillation at the DC voltage are performed. Results show the efficacy of the methodology proposed in this paper.

Implementing a Battery Management System (BMS) in Electric Vehicles (EVs) offers several benefits that enhance the efficiency, security, and durability of the vehicle's battery system. The BMS oversees and controls the performance of each cell in the battery pack, guaranteeing that they function within predetermined voltage and temperature thresholds to maintain safety. In this paper, an intelligent BMS for an EV model powered by a solar PV array was proposed using a fuzzy logic (FL) controller. The proposed method was applied to EVs consisting of four Lithium-ion batteries. The simulation results are achieved using MATLAB/Simulink software. The estimation of the state of charge (SOC) for each battery was used as input to the FL which controls the discharging/ charging mode for each battery via power semiconductor switches. Three different scenarios are used to verify the suggested method. A full control FL operation was obtained, and the batteries were protected successfully against overcharging and over-discharging.

The energy generation performance of solar panels can be greatly influenced by partial shading conditions (PSCs). The phenomenon is ascribed to the presence of several maximum power points (MPPs) evident on the characteristic curves of power-voltage (P-V). These MPPs encompass diverse local peaks (LPs) along with a solitary global peak (GP). Traditional (MPPT) techniques fall short in precisely tracing the GP owing to the complex and nonlinear features of PV characteristic curves during instances of PSC. Hence, the adoption of MPPT techniques based on artificial intelligence (AI) becomes essential to effectively track the GP. In this research endeavor, three metaheuristic approaches for MPPT are investigated, namely the Team Game Algorithm (TGA), Gray Wolf Optimization (GWO), and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). These algorithms are practically implemented, and their efficacy is experimentally validated while considering different solar irradiation levels while keeping the temperature constant. The experimental evaluation aims to compare the dynamic behavior of the photovoltaic (PV) array under various weather conditions. In contrast to other approaches, the TGA technique offers outstanding convergence capabilities, as shown by the experimental tests carried out in this study.
