In the field, unsupervised learning-based fault diagnosis is necessary due to the lack of fault data. However, conventional auto-encoder models face challenges in fault classification. To address this issue, this study proposes an unsupervised learning-based auto-encoder model enhanced with an ensemble approach. The proposed model performs fault classification using gear, bearing, and eccentricity fault data, and employs the Layer-wise Relevance Propagation (LRP) technique to improve fault classification. Through the LRP technique, the key frequency bands relevant to each fault are identified and incorporated into the learning process, allowing for frequency band-based training. As a result, the proposed auto-encoder model improves classification performance and effectively distinguishes between different types of faults. © The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.

A hysteresis motor is a motor characterized by an increase in the efficiency of the output to input ratio during an over-excitation in which a higher voltage is applied at startup than when the rated voltage is applied, and the voltage is reduced over a period of time after entering synchronous speed. However, due to the specificity of the rotor material, finite element analysis of hysteresis motors is difficult, so the design was conducted by analyzing only the rated voltage application condition through an equivalent circuit. As a result, the improved efficiency and torque that can be achieved by over-excitation were not verified, which was confirmed by experiments after the design was completed. However, recently, finite element analysis simulation that can express the hysteresis loop behavior has become possible, so finite element analysis of hysteresis motors has become possible, and the improved efficiency and torque that can be obtained through over-excitation can be confirmed. Therefore, this paper compares the output and efficiency of hysteresis motors under over-excitation and rated voltage application, and confirms the necessity and feasibility of designing hysteresis motors considering over-excitation. Integrating digital data and human sensory input in real-world settings offers new possibilities in device diagnostics and maintenance. In this study, we utilized the EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor to develop an augmented reality application for a family house heating system. Our application was designed without access to the real heating system;instead, we simulated its operation with a programmable logic controller. Our final application includes three primary scenes: the heat pump, its indoor unit, and the engine room. Drawing on our practical experience, we discuss the benefits of our approach and the software tools used and summarize our subjective opinions. © 2024 IEEE.

A significant disadvantage of classical operational amplifiers with two complementary differential stages in parallel (on the inputs) is that here the slew rate has small values (50-80 V/μs). This is due to the non-linear mode of operation of the input differential stage. In this paper, a new circuit technique for slew rate enhancement in CBJT operational amplifiers of this subclass is discussed. Due to the use of special circuitry of the input differential stage, the process of recharging of the integrating correction capacitance in non-inverting and inverting operational amplifier inclusions is forced. This ultimately improves the performance of the operational amplifier in the large-signal mode. The purpose and originality of this paper is to investigate a new circuit solution of operational amplifier, in which by introducing differentiating transient correction circuits, slew rate is improved by two orders of magnitude. This does not require nanometer-scale technological processes, and the operational amplifier transistors can operate with emitter currents on the order of 100 μA. It is possible to build micro-power operational amplifier on the basis of the proposed circuit design technique, including CBJT and CCMOS transistors. Computer simulations show that for micron CBJT silicon technological processes, the SR of the proposed operational amplifier in non-inverting inclusion (at 100% feedback) increases from 80 to 10000 V/μs, i.e., more than two orders of magnitude. © 2024 IEEE.

A circuit technique for increasing the maximum output voltage slew rate (SR) of an integrated operational amplifier (OpAmp) with the HA2700 microchip architecture based on the modernization of the input differential stage (DS) is considered. An OpAmp architecture is proposed in which the influence of parasitic capacitances of DS reference current sources and capacitances on the transistor substrate on the SR is minimized. This allows the use of micron technological processes in the fabrication of CBJT OpAmps, which are widely used to improve the radiation resistance of microchips. Computer simulation of the proposed OpAmp is performed, which shows that the SR of the new circuit differs from the SR of the well-known serial OpAmp by more than 40 times and reaches values of about 800 V/μs at the emitter current of the input transistors of the DC in the range of up to 80-100 μA. The developed OpAmp is recommended for practical use in discrete-to-analog filters on switched capacitors. © 2024 IEEE.

In near-field measurements probe presence leads to antenna under test field distortions that is critical in the diagnostic problems and antenna under test characteristics reconstruction. The paper briefly describes the plane waves theory, which is a basis of a correction procedure that eliminate systematic distortions inserted by the metering probe. The proposed approach is carried out by determining the probe spectral response from a simulation calibration fields and its subsequent use to correct the measured field. The paper considers the possibility of obtaining calibration fields by electromagnetic simulation of the antenna-probe system. Some practical aspects of system modeling are discussed. The proposed approach is compared with the analytical and experimental ones. Qualitative and quantitative results of the two test models of measured field correction are compared with their exact fields. The results demonstrate the possibility of using the probe response obtained from the calibration antenna to correct the near field of another antenna. © 2024 IEEE.

Cybersickness caused by virtual reality (VR) experiences has long been considered as one of the side effects. This paper attempts to utilize the cybersickness to induce responses of autonomous nervous system (ANS) and consequently to stimulate changes in heart rate variability (HRV). VR contents are developed with a free and open-source 3D Universe system (Gaia Sky) by setting velocity, direction and trajectory properties of a camera. Experiments using these VR contents were conducted to evaluate the proposed method, and ten subjects took part in the experiments. Short-time HRV analysis has been applied and the experimental results show that changes of HRV features can be recognized between sessions of VR contents and resting. © 2024 IEEE.

It has been revealed that in the conditions of small-scale production of discrete-analog filters on switched capacitors and ADC-drivers, it is most advisable to design high-speed operational amplifiers (OAs) based on the CBJT technological route and the MH2XA031 array chip, which allows operation in conditions of low temperatures and exposure to radiation. It has been established that most commercially produced O A s provide an average value of the slew rate (SR, up to 200 div 300 ~V / μ s). This is largely due to the limitations of the technologies used, and most importantly, to the irrational design of circuits. We study the maximum performance parameters of a CBJT OA with one integrating capacitor, which ensures the stability of the O A, and a differentiating transient correction circuit, which is implemented by connecting additional small capacitors to the original circuit. In this case, the S R of the O A increases by more than 500 times (up to 4000 ~V / μ s). © 2024 IEEE.

A significant disadvantage of classical operational amplifiers with a complementary 'folded' cascode is that in the dynamic overload mode of the input differential stage, the maximum output current of the 'folded' cascode is tightly coupled to the currents of the current-stabilizing bipoles that establish its static mode. This prevents (under the static current consumption limitations of the operational amplifier) a fast recharge of the integrating correction capacitor, which limits the maximum slew rate of the output voltage. The paper discusses new circuit solutions of CBJT operational amplifier based on complementary 'folded' cascodes and input differential stage of dual-input stage subclass to increase slew rate from 215 V/μs to 8000 V/μs level. The problem solved here is to provide higher levels of 'folded' cascode output current during the transient edge. This effect is achieved by introducing three additional small capacitance correction capacitors into the circuit. It is possible to introduce a special current limiting resistor in series with the third additional capacitor to reduce overshoot during the transient edge. The proposed modifications of operational amplifier have significant advantages in comparison with the classical ones based on complementary 'folded' cascodes in terms of slew rate level. Results of computer modeling of the operational amplifier in LTSpice environment for silicon CBJT technological process with micron topological norms are presented. © 2024 IEEE.

Maintaining physical and cognitive health is challenging for the older population, and thus creative ways to promote active lives are needed. The GAME2AWE platform is an exergaming platform that promotes the well-being of older people by utilizing serious games to encourage movement in a fun and engaging way. To improve the GAME2AWE experience, the platform's capabilities have been enhanced with AI components that provide user-aware functionalities. One of the GAME2AWE components is responsible for assessing the cognitive as well as the physical condition of the user playing in real-time. In this paper, we extend our investigation into this AI component by exploring the development of relevant models for assessing user cognitive status. In our machine learning (ML) training experiments, we extensively explored the area of ML hyperparameter tuning in order to achieve performance that is competitive with the standards set by related work. This study highlights the potential of AI to turn exergaming into a more effective tool for the well-being of the elderly by promoting exercise in a safe and controllable manner. © 2024 IEEE.
