For many FPGA-based computing systems, a dedicated FPGA or interface chip is included to provide I/O functionality. As commercial FPGA sincrease in size, they are becoming large enough to include both theI/O interface and the reconfigurable logic. It is non-trivial, however, to provide a consistent, uninterrupted I/O interface on a single FPGA that supports reconfiguration. This paper presents an FPGA-based PCIe computing system that uses bootstrapping to configure FPGA logic at run-time. A static FPGA circuit is created to provide the PCIe interface when the system is powered-up. At run-time, computational circuits are configured onto the device as partially reconfigured modules through the static PCIe interface. Several computing circuit examples from the ERC Bench benchmarking suite were used to demonstrate this technique. © 2011 IEEE.

Shrimp culture habitat comprise parameters like temperature, humidity, soil composition, nutrification, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand which are requirements of shrimp culture. Due to high price and demand, many farmers in coastal region are shifting from vegetation to shrimp culture. Shrimp cultivation is encountered with abnormalities in temperature, soil composition, BOD, COD, pH and complex problems like slow growth diseases, nutritional imbalances, pathogenic diseases can downfall yields of cultivation. Both WSN and IoT revolutionized through remote sensing with centralized monitoring of agriculture, fisheries and Industrial processing. This paper presents a prototype design monitoring the shrimp culture parameters like temperature, pH, DO, etc. The prototype design will improve the practice of conventional Shrimp culture by remote sensing monitoring system and this would substantially increase the yield of the shrimp. The prototype was implemented and tested by deploying in pond for one day. The variation of parameters is measured by using setting up a ThingSpeak channel. The results show that the system is capable is monitoring the essential parameters and any change in these parameters leading to abnormal conditions in the pond can be easily communicated with the concerned person through message. © 2020 IEEE.

With the development of deep learning technology, algorithms related to computer vision used for autonomous driving are becoming faster and more accurate. The software architecture of autonomous driving consists of perception, decision, and control stages. In this paper, the perception stage is composed by combining several sensors and algorithms. In the perception stage, obstacle recognition and traffic signal detection are main tasks for path determination. This work creates a map that includes all of this information, helping more efficient determination in the decision stage. The experiments were conducted using a 3D simulator with ROS-noetic. The performance of obstacle recognition is evaluated for accuracy, recall, precision by confusion matrix. This work achieves 95.6% of accuracy, 88.6% of recall, 76.6% of precision. The experiments of traffic light detection task are evaluated as error ratio of distance estimation by stereo vision. Average error rate was calculated as 7.25%. © 2023 IEEE.

With the fast development of highly integrated distributed systems (cluster systems), especially those encapsulated within a single platform [28, 9], designers have to face interesting memory hierarchy design choices that attempt to avoid disk storage swapping. Disk swapping activities slow down application execution drastically. Leveraging remote free memory through Memory Collaboration has demonstrated its cost-effectiveness compared to overprovisioning for peak load requirements. Recent studies propose several ways on accessing the under-utilized remote memory in static system configurations, without detailed exploration on the dynamic memory collaboration. Dynamic collaboration is an important aspect given the run-time memory usage fluctuations in clustered systems. In this paper, we propose an Autonomous Collaborative Memory System (ACMS) that manages memory resources dynamically at run time, to optimize performance, and provide QoS measures for nodes engaging in the system. We implement a prototype realizing the proposed ACMS, experiment with a wide range of real-world applications, and show up to 3x performance speedup compared to a non collaborative memory system, without perceivable performance impact on nodes that provide memory. Based on our experiments, we conduct detailed analysis on the remote memory access overhead and provide insights for future optimizations. Copyright 2012 ACM.

This article presents a novel system designed for human resources (HR) companies, aiming to predict an individual's personality based on resume analysis through the integration of advanced information technology tools. The series Advances in Industrial Control aims to report and encourage technology transfer in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology impacts all areas of the control discipline. New theory, new controllers, actuators, sensors, new industrial processes, computer methods, new applications, new philosophies . . . , new challenges. Much of this development work resides in industrial reports, feasibility study papers and the reports of advanced collaborative projects. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of such new work in all aspects of industrial control for wider and rapid dissemination. Deregulation of electricity markets is a worldwide activity with leading and distinctive developments occurring in the European and US markets. The immediate impact of these changes is felt in the higher levels of the power production hierarchy where tools to aid short-term economic decision making are needed. At the lower levels of the production control hierarchy the impact is to demand much more flexible unit operation so that the determined short-term goals can be met. Allen and Illic have produced this useful monograph on the decision algorithms needed to determine unit commitment proflles over the shorter time frame of hours and days. The method of dynamic programming has been used and the work covers modelling, cost function and construction, an introduction to dynamic programming and a detailed assessment of its use. The monograph comes complete with programs in Appendix D and with other appendices giving the necessary supporting theory.

The fundamental tradeoff between bandwidth and rate for wideband additive Gaussian channels, when there is a constraint in the error exponent is investigated in the previous paper. This paper extends these results to fading channels. Specifically, we consider fading channels with large coherent dimension D. which is the defined to be the product of coherent time and coherent bandwidth. The behavior of R/sub z/(1/D) which is the maximum rate at which one can communicate when the coherent dimension is D and the error exponent is constrained to be at least equal to z is considered and calculates two quantities: R/sub z/(0) and R/spl dot//sub z/(0), which together partially characterize the behavior of R/sub z/(1/D) when D is large. We show that QPSK is near-optimal for fading channels with large coherent dimension, in the sense that both R/sub z/(0) and R/spl dot//sub z/(0) can be achieved.
