Optimizing the design, performance, and resource efficiency of wireless networks (WNs) necessitates the ability to discern Line of Sight (LoS) and Non-Line of Sight (NLoS) scenarios across diverse applications and environments. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) exhibit significant potential in this regard due to their rapid mobility, aerial capabilities, and payload characteristics. Particularly, UAVs can serve as vital nonterrestrial base stations (NTBS) in the event of terrestrial base station (TBS) failures or downtime. In this paper, we propose CNN autoencoder resizer (CAR) as a framework that improves the accuracy of LoS/NLoS detection without demanding extra power consumption. Our proposed method increases the mean accuracy of detecting LoS/NLoS signals from 66% to 86%, while maintaining consistent power consumption levels. In addition, the resolution provided by CAR shows that it can be employed as a preprocessing tool in other methods to enhance the quality of signals. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing demand for wireless communication resources has intensified the need for effective spectrum sensing techniques to alleviate the scarcity of available spectral bands. This survey paper presents an indept. exploration and comparative analysis of various spectrum sensing methodologies, focusing on Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Neural Network (DNN) approaches. The study delineates the landscape of traditional spectrum sensing techniques, encompassing energy detection, matched filtering, cyclo-stationary feature detection, and cooperative spectrum sensing. This paper explains sensing using machine learning-based such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forest, Neural Networks, and Hidden Markov Models (HMM) are systematically elucidated. Moreover, the paper meticulously scrutinizes the advancements in deep learning-based spectrum sensing, encapsulating the utilization of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) methodologies. The discussion encompasses their applications, advantages, and limitations in the context of spectrum sensing. © 2024 IEEE.

Epilepsy is a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, impacting the quality of life for millions of individuals worldwide. Timely and accurate detection of epileptic seizures is crucial for proper diagnosis and effective treatment. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals provide vital information about brain activity and serve as a valuable tool for epilepsy detection. The methodology opted for this study was an enhanced multilayer feed forward neural network for automatic detection of epilepsy from EEG signals and hence predicting the severity. The authors build a multistage cascaded neural network model for achieving the same. Initially a Simple Artificial Neural Network (SimpleANN) is designed to classify EEG segments into seizure, healthy and interictal. Later a Multilayer Feed Forward Neural Network (MFFNN) is employed for detecting the severity of epileptic patients and hence can be classified into primary and secondary stages. The experimental results showed that the proposed SimpleANN classifier had provided noticeable results, and outperforms all tested classifiers. The study involves the collection of EEG data from a diverse group of patients, including those with epilepsy and healthy individuals. This automated epilepsy identifying system passes through different stages including decomposition, feature extraction for achieving a better performance model. The proposed system was tested and compared with SVM, KNN, MLP and Decision Tree under different measurement metrics. ANN has managed to give an accuracy of 80 - 90% which is significantly higher as compared to other machine learning models. The proposed work can automatically learn complex patterns from EEG data provides an advantage in identifying subtle seizure related features that may not be evident through manual analysis. Furthermore, the model offers real-time capabilities, making it suitable for continuous monitoring of patients at risk of seizures. © 2024 IEEE.

The widespread deployment of deep nets in practical applications has lead to a growing desire to understand how and why such black-box methods perform prediction. Much work has focused on understanding what part of the input pattern (an image, say) is responsible for a particular class being predicted, and how the input may be manipulated to predict a different class. We focus instead on understanding what internal features computed by the neural net are responsible for a particular class. We achieve this by mimicking part of the net with a decision tree having sparse weight vectors at the nodes. We are able to learn trees that are both highly accurate and interpretable, so they can provide insights into the deep net black box. Further, we show we can easily manipulate the neural net features in order to make the net predict, or not predict, a given class, thus showing that it is possible to carry out adversarial attacks at the level of the features. We demonstrate this robustly in MNIST and ImageNet with LeNet5 and VGG networks. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This paper introduces a Blockchain (BC)-based security model for a solar farm, providing security functions such as firmware patching management, role-based access control, public key infrastructure, and man-in-the-middle attacks detection (MITM), malware file detection. In particular, this paper provides detailed field-testing methods at a solar fam to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of cyber-attack detection methods. Practical cyberattacks targeting solar farms are designed and conducted. It is demonstrated that the proposed BC-based system proactively detects MITM attacks, firmware modification attack, and malware attack, while ensuring the continuous operation of the solar farm during attack events. © 2024 IEEE.

The movement changes the underlying spatial representation of the participated mobile objects or nodes. In real-world scenarios, such mobile nodes can be part of any biological network, transportation network, social network, human interaction, etc. The change in the geometry leads to the change in various desirable properties of real-world networks, especially in human interaction networks. In real life, human movement is concerned with a better lifestyle where they form their new connections due to the geographical changes. Therefore, in this paper, we design a model for geometric networks with mobile nodes (GNMN) and conduct a comprehensive statistical analysis of their properties. We analyze the effect of node mobility by evaluating key network metrics such as connectivity, node degree distribution, second-hop neighbors, and centrality measures. Through extensive simulations, we observe significant variations in the behavior of geometric networks with mobile nodes. © 2024 IEEE.

We introduce in this paper an AI-based dynamic network slicing model for resource allocation targeting 5G networks. It does this by using machine learning algorithms that help the model learn and adapt to live traffic conditions so as to intelligently manage different service types, including eMBB (enhanced Mobile Broadband), URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication) and mMTC (massive Machine Type Communication). This leads to substantial improvements in three of the four core performance metrics, latency, throughput and energy efficiency (at a low sacrifice of when it comes to QoS adherence). Their work also demonstrates that AI technologies hold the promise for revolutionary network management, offering a scalable solution that can address ever-increasing requirements of next-generation telecommunications, by surpassing the capabilities of well-established static slicing techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Rainfall is one of the most important meteorological variables. Rainfall has a multiplicity of effects on agriculture, ecosystems and urbanization. The amount of rainfall cannot currently be determined due to climate change. For this reason, in order to mitigate the effects that arise from heavy rainfall, it is crucial to forecast the amount of rainfall. Currently, statistical techniques and machine learning are two of the methods has been used to forecast rainfall. These methods have been successfully to forecast rainfall. However, it still has low accuracy and need more time to forecast because the rainfall influence parameters are time-series and non-linear. This study will employ a hybrid learning technique to resolve the issue. The method used is a combination of two algorithms, namely long short-term memory (LSTM) and particle swarm optimization (PSO), and the prediction system will be evaluated using RMSE and MAE. Time-series and non-linear rainfall data will be overcome by the LSTM algorithm, and uncertain hyperparameter settings in the LSTM method will be overcome by the PSO algorithm. The ideal LSTM algorithm employing PSO optimization yields the following hyperparameter value results: 143 neurons, learning rate of 0.0000840, and 122 epochs in 50 iterations. With the lowest RMSE and MAE values of 18.557095 and 8.972361, respectively, the prediction model's optimal hyperparameter values can forecast the next five days based on the data used. © 2024 IEEE.

In an acoustic pervasive wireless sensor network (PWSN), the BASE station plays a vital role in gathering and integrating acoustic sensor data from various nodes, including end and router devices tracking time-driven events. The semantic BASE station is crucial in the IoT landscape as it consolidates data from these networks, enabling thorough sentiment analysis of acoustic signals and yielding insights across domains. A semantic processor at the BASE station is essential for an energy-efficient and intelligent PWSN, managing data collection, integration, signal feature extraction, and publication for model training and sentiment analysis. This paper introduces a novel approach to designing a semantic BASE station, focusing on ontology generation, evaluation, and updates to bolster pervasive wireless sensors in capturing and depicting events and time through an ontological framework. The study addresses challenges in efficiently gathering, integrating, and processing acoustic data from pervasive nodes, proposing a semantic processor at the BASE station to enhance feature extraction and metadata publication. The semantic organization of feature-extracted labeled metadata enables the analysis of comprehensive machine learning (ML) applications such as sentiment analysis, type detection, and environment detection by generating confusion matrix. This study had conducted an intensive exploration of the possibilities of VGG-16 and VGG-19 Convolutional Neural Network models for picture categorisation. Using a thorough method comprising substantial training and severe testing, we may observe both steady loss decrease and significant model accuracy improvements. It is assumed that the models may appropriately keep track of subtle variations in data to which they are adversarial while identifying regular patterns they may generalize. The VGG models' architecture is quite sophisticated, but as seen above, they give strong classification accuracy, with performance in nearly ideal 99 percent in many trials. This integration proves that extremely advanced deep learning instruments are competent to handle and complete even very sophisticated picture recognition assignments. Additionally, our experiments identify a few essential aspects of model adjustment and tuning identifying important techniques considerably enhancing CNN outcomes in application scenarios. This study is pioneering for the automatic picture identification discipline since it provided a strong understanding of the generality and model quicker than many real-world models. Additionally, it exhibits that the CNN structures enhance artificial intelligence's power to recognize visual input and could improve many sectors like the surveillance and health systems. The findings defined here may now open the door to more progress in deep learning and picture process analyses while reiterated the importance of CNN in modern technology. © 2024 IEEE.
