A critical challenge in implementing Zero trust (ZT) in Internet of Things (IoT) environments is ensuring secure authentication and authorization mechanisms. The work in this article delves into the intricate realm of ZT by critically examining the state-of-the-art authentication and authorization processes within the ZT framework for IoT. Despite the wealth of work on ZT and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), notable research gaps persist, specifically in identity authentication and fine-grained access control. Given the vast and diverse ecosystem of IoT devices, device identification complexities arise from a lack of unique hardware identifiers, rendering traditional methods susceptible to cyber-attacks, such as, spoofing. For dynamic IoT environments, achieving the optimal implementation in access policies poses a significant challenge. Numerous ZTA methodologies, integrating access controls, blockchain frameworks, and advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), have been implemented to tackle these challenges. However, research gaps remain, particularly in understanding the behavioral aspects within these frameworks. As a result, this article focuses on identifying how device behavioral aspects can improve authentication and authorization in ZT for IoT. Finally, the article concludes by highlighting how these challenges can serve as future research directions. © 2024 IEEE.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is revolutionizing the legal domain, enabling tasks such as predicting legal outcomes, summarizing complex documents, identifying key entities, and assessing bail risks. This survey paper presents a comprehensive review of the existing research on NLP tasks applied to legal documents and judgments across various languages, with a special emphasis on low-resource languages. Despite the extensive work done in widely spoken languages like English, there remains a critical need to extend these advancements to languages with limited resources and data availability. This paper categorizes and analyzes the NLP tasks in the legal domain based on the languages they target. It highlights the methodologies employed, datasets utilized, and the performance of different models across diverse languages. Furthermore, it identifies the gaps in current research and proposes potential directions for future work, particularly in improving the accessibility and applicability of NLP solutions for legal texts in underrepresented languages. By providing a comprehensive overview of advancements and obstacles, this survey seeks to assist future research endeavors that bridge the disparity between high-resource and low-resource languages in legalAI applications. © 2025 IEEE.

Air pollution is a global issue of concern. Accurate prediction of the air quality index (AQI) plays a crucial role in understanding pollution patterns and implementing effective mitigation strategies. This research paper presents a comprehensive study on the application of ensemble learning techniques for AQI prediction, aiming to enhance prediction accuracy and provide insights into the driving factors behind pollution levels. The primary objective is to conduct a comparative analysis of homogenous ensemble method, namely, bagging in conjunction with individual base models, such as multiple linear regression, support vector regression, decision trees, and artificial neural networks. In total we have created 4 non-ensembled models and 4 ensembled models. Additionally, the research investigates the importance of different features in AQI prediction models, aiming to identify the key factors influencing air pollution. Hyperparameter tuning is done to optimize the models. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2024.

If adversaries were to obtain quantum computers in the future, their massive computing power would likely break existing security schemes. Since security is a continuous process, more substantial security schemes must be developed. Current PQC schemes primarily focus on data security or key exchange, and further improvement towards enhanced PQC primitives is required. Our proposal in this research is an innovative paradigm for PQC-focused cloud data security. The proposed HEDT approach achieves encryption and decryption with significantly lower latency (20% improvement) and higher reliability than AES, DES, and RSA, as demonstrated through experimental results. Furthermore, ECSIDH, a hybrid key exchange mechanism combining SIDH and ECDH, improves security strength by 50% while maintaining computational costs within 1.13x of SIDH. Compared to individual key exchange schemes like SIDH, ECSIDH offers superior security as a PQC candidate. These results confirm the robustness and efficiency of the proposed framework in ensuring secure data outsourcing and key exchange in cloud environments. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. Deep web material is accessed with web database requests, and returned information is packaged into dynamically generated web pages known as deep Web pages. Due to their intricate structure, it is tedious task to retrieve organized data from deep web pages. A great many approaches to address this problem are yet to be proposed, but all of them have inherent drawbacks because they are based on the website and the programming language. The contents of Sites are always shown for users to search daily, like the common two-dimensional media. This motivates us to search for an alternative way to extract deep Web information, by using some interesting popular visual features from deep Webpages, to address the limitations of past works. A novel blog vision approach is proposed in this paper to overcome these issues. This technique uses visual features in deep web pages specifically to conduct deep web data extraction. This paper also recommends a new appraisal measure to capture the required human activity to make maximum mining. The proposed methodology is highly efficient in the deep network data extraction, according to our studies with a large set of web-based data bases. © 2024 IEEE.

Corruption, a global phenomenon disproportionately affecting developing nations, undermines governance and economic development. This systematic literature review examines the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in mitigating corruption. Despite conflicting evidence, ICT interventions, including transactional and transparency reforms, offer promising avenues for combating corrupt practices. The review highlights the diverse methodologies employed, with a significant focus on AI-related approaches. The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques has been prevalent in various applications and the gradual increase in implementation towards healthcare sectors has scaled up. computer aided diagnosis has emerged as a major research area directed toward efficient use of resources. Fracture of bone has been a popular health problem associated with risk for mortality. Fractures are frequent in the long bones or the weight-bearing bones. AI techniques to accurately detect and classify fractures are still a challenging task beyond the conventional methods. Our objective is to assess the effectiveness of multiple algorithms in identifying and categorizing ankle fractures using radiological images. This review paper focuses on several available approaches of Deep-Learning (DL) and Machine-Learning (ML) regarding Ankle Fracture Classification and Identification based on Radiological Images for Medical Applications. The goal is to assist physicians and orthopaedics with simple and realistic decision support systems. In addition to a comprehensive analysis of the research, this study looked at several real-world examples of AI applications in the healthcare industry. Consequently, it is critical to have a fundamental grasp of these ML and DL algorithms to be ready for upcoming advancements in AI. We have reviewed and classified scientific conference and journal articles used for various AI techniques and offer future utility as a comparative analysis for further research in healthcare sectors. © 2024 IEEE.

Cataracts are clouding of the lens in the eye, leading to loss of vision that can progress to blindness if not treated. This paper proposed a new method for automatic cataract detection using color fundus images and deep learning methods. A dataset of 1,105 color fundus images labeled by expert ophthalmologists was used in this process. We used seven pre-trained CNNs (DenseNet121, EfficientNetB0, MobileNetV2, InceptionV3, Xception, ResNet50, VGG16, and VGG19) for feature extraction before reducing the extracted features using PCA. We used the following combination of machine learning classifiers: SVC, RF, Decision Tree, Gaussian Naive Bayes, XGBoost, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Logistic Regression. For evaluating the models’ performance, we used accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and computational efficiency. For all metrics, MobileNetV2 with Random Forest achieved perfect scores: 100% accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score, with an average processing time of 669 ms ± 28.8 ms. Thus, it can be applied in real-time applications. EfficientNetB0 with SVC gave an average accuracy of 87.33%, with the rest of the precision and recall metrics above 86%. Then, ResNet50, VGG16, and VGG19 followed with high accuracies between the range of 89.64% to 90.50%. It systemizes the proper choice of architectures of CNNs and classifiers, making the system both accurate and computationally efficient. Future work will include augmentation of the dataset, real-time support in the clinical setting, and advanced techniques for image preprocessing, generative adversarial networks. In addition, the development of an automated annotation tool, improvement of explainable AI, will further improve the deployment of robust AI systems in early diagnosis of cataracts, enhancing the outcome for patients. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an integrated framework for the comprehensive analysis of diseases affecting pomegranate fruit. The suggested system, which makes use of deep learning techniques, includes semantic segmentation for diseased region localization, multiclass illness classification, and image processing-based severity assessment. Initially, four common diseases - Alternaria, Anthracnose, Bacterial Blight, and Cer-cospora - are successfully identified through the use of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for multiclass classification. Then, annotated photos are used as training data for Semantic Segmentation, which uses the UNet architecture to identify the unhealthy spots within the fruit. The area and percentage of the segmented region are determined, and thresholds for high, medium, and low severity levels are then defined. The segmentation results are then used as inputs for severity estimate. Early identification and intervention tactics are made easier by the severity level prediction, which is based on the proportion of the segmented region. In order to improve pomegranate fruit management methods, the suggested framework provides a thorough method of disease analysis by combining categorization, semantic segmentation, and severity prediction. © 2024 IEEE.

As sports grow in popularity need for effective online turf booking applications has also increased. Although some existing applications are faced with numerous challenges such as;restrictions on access, ineffectiveness in scheduling, and over-bookings, leading to frustrations and operational problems. This paper focuses on those problems by the presentation of an online turf booking application to streamline the booking process. The solution offers real-time updates, automatic payment, and safe transactions based on QR code. The more user-friendly the application is, the more efficient it will be. Firebase would be used for real-time data synchronization and the responsiveness of React interface ensures the smooth and conflict-free bookings. This solution would lead to increasing customer satisfaction as well as increasing the booking rates and effective utilization of sports facilities. © 2025 IEEE.
