Amidst rapid urbanization and fluctuating climatic patterns, the world witnessed a surge in mosquito-borne diseases, escalating global health concerns. Mosquitoes, often dismissed as mere irritants, are carriers for a spectrum of conditions, including malaria, dengue, and the Zika virus, with WHO reporting large numbers of dengue cases annually. This review delves deep into the observation of mosquito behavior and the challenges in eradicating these pests, emphasizing the inefficacy of singular sensory targeting repellents. This paper introduces a pioneering device, combining the mosquito's affinity towards light with the suffocating effects of metofluthrin, offering a holistic solution. By the combination of advanced engineering with a comprehensive understanding of mosquito behavioral dynamics, this device promises not only to repel but to substantially reduce these vectors, fostering safer indoor spaces. Through a detailed exploration of current methodologies and the introduction of this integrated strategy, this paper provides insights into creating a healthier, mosquito-free environment. © 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers use their hands extensively for the rescue operation and providing care to the patients in an EMS scene. Using smartwatch based sensor data, i.e., accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer, we are developing SenseEMS, a system for hand operated EMS intervention detection and real-time monitoring. SenseEMS will use a hybrid deep neural network with appropriate real-time algorithms on the sensor data to detect multiple hand operated activities, i.e. CPR compressions, attaching defibrillation pads and breathing bags, and to provide quality assessment on different metrics of the activity, i.e., the rate and dept. of CPR compressions. Our initial results for this ongoing research show promising accuracy. Preliminary survey with 31 anonymous EMS responders suggests that this automated system will be highly beneficial for real-scene application and EMS training. © 2023 Owner/Author.

With the emergence of various techniques involved in deep learning the researchers of computer vision tends to focus on the strategies such as object recognition and segmentation of image. This has inclined to accomplish the deep learning techniques in 3D reconstruction of both specific and generic objects. As the space for reconstruction of 3D images either in single or multi view has envisioned the researchers to concentrate on the available technologies used for reconstruction. With the available built in methods and technologies in deep learning, the performance of the proposed methods were reviewed and analyzed using several parameters. As the remaking of 2D images is still in the beginning stage, it is important to study the 3D shape representations, various network architecture, methodologies and approaches behind 3D reconstruction. In this work a review of deep learning methods for single or multiple RGB images of specific and generic object 3D reconstruction was done. Several methods and their importance were also discussed along with the challenges encountered and with further research directions. This paper critically analyzes the various 3D Shaped Representations, 3D Data Network Architectures, dept. Estimation methods, Multi View Representations and the Data Representation Techniques. © 2021

Crowd management is the problem of dealing with physical crowds of humans, e.g., for safety reasons or to improve services through crowd-awareness. In previous work, the notion of a Crowd Digital Twin (CDT), namely the digital twin associated to physical gatherings of humans, was motivated and proposed as a fundamental component of crowd management systems. In this work, we better characterise the CDT notion, by investigating the functional and non-functional requirements that such a technical solution should satisfy. Then, we consider what are the fundamental components of CDT systems, and accordingly delineate a general architecture aimed at flexibly supporting the corresponding physical-digital thread. © 2025 IEEE.

Biomimicry is a field of study that involves imitating the designs and processes of nature to solve problems using manmade systems. Biomimicry offers an empathetic, interconnected understanding of how life works and where we fit in. In bio-inspired designs, the main challenge is to develop a sustainable and effective framework that can be used in the real world. Most of the soft robotic designs are state-of-the-art models that cannot be used in real sensing applications. In this research, we propose a sustainable sensor-integrated modular soft robot model that can be used for locomotion and gripping applications. This work presents the steps involved in modeling, designing, and fabricating soft and flexible end effectors that can be used for soft robots with integrated soft stretchable sensors. It also demonstrates the design methodology involved in modeling and simulating the proposed model for robots that would require effectors with increased functionalities. © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of deepfake technology poses a significant challenge to the authenticity of digital content. This research explores the application of multimodal fusion techniques to enhance deepfake detection accuracy. By combining visual and audio features, the proposed method leverages the complementary nature of different data types to detect discrepancies introduced by deepfake manipulation. An attention mechanism is incorporated to focus on salient regions within each modality, further improving detection accuracy. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs) are employed for feature extraction, followed by feature fusion for deepfake detection. This approach demonstrates the effectiveness of multimodal fusion in combating the evolving threat of deepfake technology. By advancing deepfake detection techniques, this research contributes to safeguarding the integrity of digital content and preserving trust in media. © 2024 IEEE.

Globally, heart disease poses a significant challenge to public health. Early identification is crucial for effectively managing and treating heart conditions. Machine learning has shown promising results in predicting medical problems for the past few years. In this study, A system was developed that is capable of detecting cardiovascular diseases using machine learning methods. The project consists of Data loading, Exploratory data analysis, preprocessing, training, evaluation and storage. A dataset was introduced that contained an array of characteristics related to the cardiovascular health status (such as age, gender, cholesterol level.). However, training measured the accuracy of 3 algorithms: K Nearest Neighbours (KNN), Decision Tree, and Random Forest in identifying heart ailment. The article also returns an ensemble graph that considers the forecasts of both these models together, saving the best GNB model for future use. Results showed that the machine learning methods are proficient in heart problem identification, as in this hybrid model, with a 97.32% accuracy rate. © 2024 IEEE.

As robotics and technology become increasingly integrated into education and daily life, it is important to recognize their essential role. Even young children have access to electronic toys and gadgets, which can facilitate their learning and interaction. This study highlights the significance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education at the elementary school level, emphasizing how university students from a variety of disciplines can design and construct robots capable of carrying out challenging tasks for humanitarian purposes. The study also emphasizes the need to encourage women's participation in robotics to showcase their skills and innovative ideas. Furthermore, the study demonstrates how robotics can effectively be used in both STEM education and competitive challenges, showcasing its effectiveness in teaching and promoting technological advancement. Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an emerging field that aims to enable machines to understand and interpret human language. Keyword extraction and synonym generation are essential tasks in natural language processing. They play a significant role in information retrieval, text classification, and sentiment analysis. In this paper, we explore three different approaches to keyword extraction and synonym generation: rule-based model, statistical model, and extreme learning machine (ELM) model. We compare the performance of each method on a corpus of text and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. Our results show that the ELM model outperforms the other two methods in terms of accuracy and efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we present an Extended Reality (XR) platform powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), designed to support education in dance history and cultural heritage. The platform here applied to a case study on a dance costume, allows users to interact with 3D models, annotate them, and explore their historical and cultural contexts collaboratively. Using features like image-to-LLM queries, users can gain insights into costume details and performance history, and the annotation tools enable uploading multimedia resources, thereby simulating an archival research environment. By integrating LLMs, the platform provides tailored information and context on demand, enriching the user experience with detailed explanations about objects, such as costume construction, usage, and cultural significance. © 2025 IEEE.
