Climate change, pollution, shipping lanes and other man-made factors are significantly impacting the biodiversity of our planet. Whales represent some of the most endangered animals of our time with some species, such as the North Atlantic right whales, have fewer than 400 individuals left. These large mammals play a crucial role in maintaining the health of our planet due to their various attributes, such as their carbon sequestration abilities. Detecting, classifying and tracking these whales can provide us with tools for their management. Passive acoustic monitoring allows researchers to identify whales through audio recordings based on their unique sounds. We propose detecting North Atlantic right whales using passive acoustic monitoring audio clips. Our data consists of whale upcalls collected in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Gulf of Maine. In our work, we compare various audio visualization transformations such as the wavelet transformation, Short-Time Fourier Transform and a custom algorithm. Using the visualized audio, our goal is to use various deep learning algorithms to detect whales. We employed multiple pre-trained convolutional neural network algorithms, including DenseNetl21, EfficientNetB7 and Xception. the wavelet transformation achieved the best overall results with a validation accuracy of 90% on most detection algorithms. Specifically, DenseNet169 combined with the wavelet transformation achieved the highest accuracy of 90.39%. Using ensemble learning on the best performing algorithms, we increased the accuracy of our approach to 91.86 %. Overall, our results demonstrate the strong potential of using audio visualization with deep learning algorithms to detect North Atlantic right whales. Further work in this field, such as exploring more algorithms, could further enhance the effectiveness of our approach. © 2024 IEEE.

The face of a person is his identity. Most of his emotions, issues can be derived from his face. Face is the window to the soul which was said by famous French doctor Duchenne de Boulogne. He used several techniques to support his theory like giving shocks of electric impulses to understand how a person reacts to muscular contractions. He also tried to induce some of the expressions of bizarre looking. The ultimate aim is to analyze how much muscles contribute to emotion. He successfully derived lots of human emotions which is hidden. After 200 years this field is still active as it requires more experiments to extract invisible truths of human truths. Lots of Emotion Recognition which is automatic have been seen in the field of Marketing and Advertising. It is also seen in the field of Medical, Law and order...etc. The main fundamental question arrives whether it is good to enter into our personal space. This a question which has lots of dimension. Those who are against this practice is claiming that this is a violation of human rights by which we can use the stored data to harm the society in future. Even though it is a major concern if we can rectify the above the scope in this area is phenomenal. Lots of researchers are still working on this area because of mainly one reason that is its wide application in the area of Medical science. It can be used by a doctor for diagnosing a person with certain psychological disorders, children with Autism, person with Parkinson's disease. It can be widely used to diagnose children with Autism so that particular child can be motivated at early stage leads to his success in future and thus provide a good citizen to the society. In our research we are using several datasets such as FER2013, CK+...etc. These datasets have been given to a model which includes Deep Convolutional Neural Network. Here input image is given to a model using camera. The particular image has to done preprocessing to extract fine features in the model. A

Along with the development of large language models (LLMs), e.g., ChatGPT, many existing approaches and tools for software security are changing. It is, therefore, essential to understand how security-aware these models are and how these models impact software security practices and education. In exercises of a software security course at our university, we ask students to identify and fix vulnerabilities we insert in a web application using state-of-the-art tools. After ChatGPT, especially the GPT-4 version of the model, we want to know how the students can possibly use ChatGPT to complete the exercise tasks. We input the vulnerable code to ChatGPT and measure its accuracy in vulnerability identification and fixing. In addition, we investigated whether ChatGPT can provide a proper source of information to support its outputs. Results show that ChatGPT can identify 20 of the 28 vulnerabilities we inserted in the web application in a white-box setting, reported three false positives, and found four extra vulnerabilities beyond the ones we inserted. ChatGPT makes nine satisfactory penetration testing and fixing recommendations for the ten vulnerabilities we want students to fix and can often point to related sources of information. © 2023 IEEE.

The performance assessment metrics of the topic of classification models, such as recall, accuracy, and F1-score were considered in this work. We examined how many types of events our model categorizes well and view the more detailed metrics for every class. A special account of the precision-recall trade-off even shows that there is an undeniable advantage, and there may be a negative side. The outcomes also show how good the model is. For example, a perfect accuracy score in the 2nd Class demonstrates that the algorithm can differentiate occurrences of such a category. The weighted average metrics consider the fundamental dissimilarity in a group better. The model has an average 0.91 F1-score, indicating that it makes a balanced decision between accuracy and recall. While I can be proud of these results, I understand that the presented weaknesses realized that additional study of potential feature engineering and other model architectures remain. This experiment will be valuable for future research and usage in real-life. © 2024 IEEE.

Freshwater harmful algal blooms (HABs) pose significant ecological and public health risks worldwide. Detecting HABs soon after they form is critical to managing the damage they cause. While in-situ measurements are more accurate at detecting and measuring their toxicity levels, satellite imagery is more adept.at capturing the spatial and temporal dynamics of these blooms over large geographic regions. Satellites can also more persistently monitor for HABs. In the past, empirical methods and machine learning methods have used multispectral satellite imagery to estimate HAB biomass. To build upon the current body of research, this paper investigates an approach to expedite HAB detection by utilizing a convolutional neural network (CNN) deployed onboard a CubeSat in low Earth orbit to detect HABs in near-real-time. The CNN is trained with multispectral imagery from the Sentinel-2 satellite constellation aggregated with in-situ cyanobacteria cell counts from the Seabass CAML dataset. The results successfully demonstrated the capability of a CNN to detect cyanobacterial blooms using multispectral imagery. After classifying HAB predictions into 5 severity classes, the best performing model achieved a RMSE of 1.33 between HAB severity levels. Training the CNN on 30m GSD imagery with RGB and red edge (B05) bands achieved a RMSE of 1.83 between HAB severity levels, which was inadequate for detecting HABs in small inland water bodies. Improved performance was observed with 10m ground sample distance (GSD) band combinations. The best performing networks utilized all of Sentinel-2's 10m and 20m spectral bands. © 2024 IEEE.

Creating an autonomous wheelchair system based on EEG (electroencephalogram) signals is a fascinating and challenging concept. In non-invasive Brain robot Interface (BRI), scalp EEG signals acquired from the multiple channels come with different artifact types, majorly as an electrooculogram (EoG). Also, all the channels don't carry equally important information regarding the particular motor activities. The primary contribution of this paper is to denoise the EEG signal and then find the optimal channels to achieve the most informative EEG signals for the motor activity recognition. Thus, this research proposes a model where firstly t he E oG a rtifacts h ave b een removed from EEG signals with the regression method and other noises with Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Secondly, It proposes a model of selecting optimal channels using a hybrid feature selection process, which includes a filter a nd w rapper method using sequential floating forward search (SFFS). Maximum Class Separability (MCS) and Support Vector Machine (SVM), both have been used for evaluating the channels. Then again SVM has been applied for classifying the motor activities by the signals recorded from the optimal channels. A dataset with four classes of human motor activities has been used for evaluating the whole proposed model. This proposed model shows the highest accuracy of 84.15% for the optimal channel set with Standard Deviation (STD) feature among other optimal channel sets of features. © 2023 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressive neurodegenerative disease, which necessitates early and accurate diagnosis for effective management. This research presents a comprehensive approach to the classification of Alzheimer's disease using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans, focusing on four distinct classes: nondemented, mild, very mild, and moderate demented. Our main goals are to combine diverse datasets to improve the robustness and adaptability of the model and to fully investigate Alzheimer's disease in all four stages. To achieve these goals, we employed a combination of machine learning and deep learning models. The models utilized include Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) with Support Vector Machine (SVM), Gabor filters with SVM, Gabor-Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) with SVM, ResNet50, AlexNet, and InceptionV3. Among these, the InceptionV3 model achieved the highest accuracy of 96.20% using 5-fold cross-validation followed the Resnet50 model achieving accuracy of 95.43%. Our approach addresses key challenges such as class imbalance, high intra-class variation, inter-class similarities, and dataset variability, demonstrating significant potential in improving Alzheimer's disease classification and detection. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the impact of early reviews on product sales by analyzing the traits of initial reviewers on major e-commerce platforms. It segments product life-cycles into three phases: early, majority, and laggards, focusing on early reviewers who post reviews during the initial stages. The paper introduces an innovative interface for sentiment analysis to identify and predict early reviewers. Quantitative analysis reveals that early reviewers often provide more insightful comments and give higher overall ratings. Their ratings and helpfulness scores significantly affect product popularity. The methodology, tested on extensive datasets from Amazon and Yelp, extracts crucial attributes of early reviewers, including purchasing patterns and social impact. The interface employs a hybrid machine learning approach combining Naive Bayes, margin-based embedding ranking models (MERM), and support vector machines (SVMs) to predict potential early reviewers accurately. This approach balances probabilistic reasoning with robust classification, ensuring comprehensive forecasting. Evaluation metrics such as precision and accuracy demonstrate the effectiveness of the models over baseline methods. Furthermore, the study enhances the understanding of how early reviews influence consumer behavior and product success in e-commerce. The interface aids in refining product marketing strategies by enabling precise targeting of early reviewers, accelerating product adoption, amplifying sales, and optimizing marketing tactics in the competitive e-commerce landscape. © 2024 IEEE.

The purpose of this research is to predict the required ICT sector for the time period leading up to . The ICT sector was predicted based on Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). The major difference between the results of the two models indicates the difference between these two methods in forecasting, and it was shown that the ARIMA model is not a suitable method for program-oriented forecasts because it is not possible to consider variables in its calculations like economic growth. On the other hand, the neural network method can provide a more reliable prediction due to the inclusion of the economic growth variable in the learning process. © 2024 IEEE.
