With Industry 4.0's technological advancements, the convenience and affordability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT have increased. However, customers still face long waiting times in payment queues during the smart shopping experience. Current solutions rely on expensive sensor-based RFIDs or simple barcodes, making them impractical and limited in scalability. This paper proposes an economically smart solution with two cameras on NVIDIA JETSON NANO for realtime object monitoring and automated shopping. Communication between modules is facilitated by TCP/IP and HTTP protocols. By utilizing the YOLO v7, real-time monitoring is achieved. This innovative approach revolutionizes the customer experience by providing a seamless interface and time-saving features. Compute Express Link (CXL) is an advanced inter-connect standard designed to facilitate high-speed communication between CPUs, accelerators, and memory devices, making it well-suited for data-intensive applications such as machine learning and real-time analytics. Despite its advantages, CXL memory encounters significant latency challenges due to the complex hierarchy of protocol layers, which can adversely impact performance in latency-sensitive scenarios. To address this issue, we introduce the Speculative Protocol Bypassing (SPB) architecture, which aims to minimize latency during read operations by speculatively bypassing several protocol layers of CXL. To achieve this, SPB employs the Snooper mechanism, which extracts essential read commands from the packet data at an early stage, allowing it to bypass multiple protocol layers and reduce memory access time. Additionally, the Hazard Filter (HF) prevents Read-After-Write (RAW) hazards between read and write operations, thereby maintaining data integrity and ensuring system reliability. The SPB architecture effectively optimizes CXL memory access latency, providing a robust solution for high-performance computing environments that require low latency as well as high efficiency. Its minimal hardware overhead makes it a practical and scalable enhancement for future CXL-based memory.

This paper introduces an RL-driven algorithm for fine-grained power gating of functional units in superscalar processors. The proposed algorithm leverages a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) neural network as a policy model, trained by a reinforcement learning (RL) agent, to optimize power states across four modes: On, Sleep-on, Sleep-off, and Off. By statically analyzing features extracted from the control flow graph (CFG) and execution profile of the program, the RL-driven model selects the most energy-efficient power states for each functional unit without compromising performance. Traditional power gating techniques often struggle with tradeoffs between minimizing performance loss (wake-up latency) and reducing power consumption, necessitating a reevaluation of power management strategies. Next-generation complex SoC designs at < 7nm technology nodes require a finer granularity approach to effectively manage power states. Our AI-based algorithm provides an optimized trade-off between power efficiency and performance by enabling power gating across multiple power states and selecting the power state that has the effectively least energy-delay product. Additionally, we propose an architectural circuit design for power gating multiple FU's within a superscalar processor, enabling efficient state transitions. Preliminary experimental results show that the proposed AI-based method achieves 10-20% energy savings while improving performance by 1.5% compared to traditional power gating algorithms.

This paper presents the design and development of a low-cost and user-friendly Bengali braille embosser for the visually impaired population in Bangladesh. To produce braille text, the embosser employs a shifting mechanism and an Embosser head, both controlled by an Arduino microcontroller. A software has also been developed to allow users with basic printer knowledge to operate the embosser. Access to educational resources and reading materials is limited for people with disabilities in Bangladesh, and the availability of Bengali braille writing machines is scarce. The proposed solution aims to address these challenges and improve the learning and communication capabilities of visually impaired individuals.
