We propose the propagation filter as a novel image filtering operator, with the goal of smoothing over neighboring image pixels while preserving image context like edges or textural regions. In particular, our filter does not to utilize explicit spatial kernel functions as bilateral and guided filters do. We will show that our propagation filter can be viewed as a robust estimator, which minimizes the expected difference between the filtered and desirable image outputs. We will also relate propagation filtering to belief propagation, and suggest techniques if further speedup of the filtering process is necessary. In our experiments, we apply our propagation filter to a variety of applications such as image denoising, smoothing, fusion, and high-dynamic-range (HDR) compression. We will show that improved performance over existing image filters can be achieved.

Two-dimensional (2D) atomic sheets yield collective properties of mechanical flexibility, electrical control, optical transparency and high surface-to-volume ratio, which hold promise for advanced flexible nanoelectronics and sensors. This work explores two newly emerging 2D materials, silicene and phosphorene (the Si and P equivalent to graphene) and their airstability and device study. The debut of silicene transistor confirms ambipolar transport behavior in atomically thin Si with greater gate modulation than graphene, indicating potential device reach beyond graphene. On the other hand, phosphorene exhibits high mobility and tunable direct bandgap even on plastic substrates, making it the most suitable contemporary 2D semiconductor that combines the merits of graphene and transitional metal dichalcogenides. This recent progress on silicene and phosphorene represent a renewed opportunity for future nanoscale and flexible devices.

Appearance-based feature extraction constitutes the dominant approach for visual speech representation in a variety of problems, such as automatic speechreading, visual speech detection, and others. To obtain the necessary visual features, typically a rectangular region-of-interest (ROI) containing the speaker’s mouth is first extracted, followed, most commonly, by a discrete cosine transform (DCT) of the ROI pixel values and a feature selection step. The approach, although algorithmically simple and computationally efficient, suffers from lack of DCT invariance to typical ROI deformations, stemming, primarily, from speaker’s head pose variability and small tracking inaccuracies. To address the problem, in this paper, the recently introduced scattering transform is investigated as an alternative to DCT within the appearance-based framework for ROI representation, suitable for visual speech applications. A number of such tasks are considered, namely, visual-only speech activity detection, visual-only and audio-visual sub-phonetic classification, as well as audio-visual speech synchrony detection, all employing deep neural network classifiers with either DCT or scattering-based visual features. Recently, a world is the point of need with new energy of high efficiency measures according to global climate change issues and energy shortages. [1] One of the various measures an energy control is to design and development at a precise circuit that can be used conservation and efficiency as the center with the power in industrial apparatus. High-frequency induction heat treatment industrial facilities are processing to the heating target by utilizing the changed resonant frequency AC power from the inverter. [2][3] At this time, the core components are applied to behind inverter, which is an induction coil and film capacitor for high frequency resonance. In general, commercialization capacitor at domestic is developed by the focuses to the general-purpose components used in electronic circuit. [2][4][5] Especially, in this paper proposed high-frequency resonant capacitor does not consist of little research in the country. The Capacitors for LC resonance can be designed variety of possible according to capacitance, maximum power and allowable voltage. [8] And, high-frequency induction heat treatment, as well as a range of uses in many industries is expanding to excellent characteristics for high voltage and frequency. Therefore, it is time to secure the necessary skills to develop first, and require a comprehensive study to be produced domestically. Here, the change of volume and size at film according to the experimental results to determine electrode of capacitance, inductance, impedance and resistance. The process of comparing design theory and experimental results confirm error due to frequency change, and it offers the most ideal way to create a capacitor. The data item for measuring is such as Dimensions, Capacitance, Sinusoidal Voltage, Max Current and Frequency Limit. The maximum power 150kVar and frequency range 700kHz is the total capacity of target model to analyze.

Dynamic information flow tracking (DIFT) is a promising solution to prevent various attacks on software running on a processor. Previous hardware solutions usually mandate drastic change to internal processor architecture. More recent ones to minimize the change have proposed external devices for DIFT. However, these approaches intrinsically suffer from the high overhead to communicate with their external devices. Consequently, they either significantly lose performance, or inevitably make invasive modifications to the processor inside. Our solution also rely on external hardware for DIFT, but unlike theirs, ours exploits the core debug interface (CDI) to tackle the communication issue. CDI is provided in most commercial processors for debugging so that we were able to build our system simply by plugging our hardware to the processor via CDI, precluding the need for altering the processor itself. Experiments show that our hardware efficiently performs DIFT mainly thanks to the support of CDI that helps us cut substantially down the communication costs.

A 10 Gb/s PLL-based forwarded clock receiver is implemented in 65-nm CMOS technology. The proposed architecture uses a hybrid PLL-based deskew which is combined with a PLL and a DLL. The PLL provides jitter filtering and the DLL performs deskewing by shifting the divided clocks. Since the operating frequency of the DLL is low, the power consumption of the DLL can be reduced. The measurement results show that the rms jitter of the recovered clock is only 576.7 fs which is quite low for a ring-oscillator-based PLL. The receiver chip occupies an active area of 0.0136 mm~2 and consumes 22.1 mW at the data rate of 10 Gb/s.

Device-to-device (D2D) communication is being considered an important traffic offloading mechanism for future cellular networks. Coupled with pro-active device caching, it offers huge potential for capacity and coverage enhancements. In order to ensure maximum capacity enhancement, number of nodes for direct communication needs to be identified. In this paper, we derive analytic expression that relates number of D2D nodes (i.e., D2D user density) and average coverage probability of reference D2D receiver. Using stochastic geometry and poisson point process, we introduce retention probability within cooperation region and shortest distance based selection criterion to precisely quantify interference due to D2D pairs in coverage area. The simulation setup and numerical evaluation validates the closed-form expression.

Reducing the environmental impact of aviation is a primary goal of NASA aeronautics research. One approach to achieve this goal is to build lighter weight aircraft, which presents complex challenges due to a corresponding increase in structural flexibility. Wing flexibility can adversely affect aircraft performance from the perspective of aerodynamic efficiency and safety. Knowledge of the wing position during flight can aid active control methods designed to mitigate problems due to increased wing flexibility. Current approaches to measuring wing deflection, including strain measurement devices, accelerometers, or GPS solutions, and new technologies such as fiber optic strain sensors, have limitations for their practical application to flexible aircraft control. Hence, it was proposed to use a biomimetic optical sensor based on the common housefly’s vision system to track wing deflection in real-time. This fly eye sensor has several advantages over conventional sensors used for this application, including light weight, low power requirements, fast computation, and a small form factor. Code reuse attack (CRA) is a powerful exploitation technique that allows attackers to perform arbitrary computation. To maximize the performance, prior hardware solutions to CRAs require invasive modifications to the CPU architecture or substantial storage overhead to keep the binary analysis result. In this paper, we propose a new debug interface with which CRA solutions can be easily implemented without the CPU modifications nor offline binary analysis.

The paper presents a drift sensor fault detection scheme for a class of nonlinear uncertain system with partially measurable state variables. A rigorous fault detectability and detection-time interval analysis is illustrated. Moreover, the set of detectable sensor faults is characterized using off-line information and an upper bound on the fault detection interval is derived. Finally, a monotonicity property of the detection-time interval upper bound with respect to the magnitude of sensor faults is presented.
