This paper explores isolated maritime environments equipped with an integrated energy system (IET) to fulfil the energy requirements of nearby communities. These environments are presumed to lack grid access but possess a connection point for a floating energy source capable of supplying consistent electricity for a limited duration. The study introduces a novel management system for the efficient operation of IES in such environments, utilizing an innovative multi-mode approach. Specifically, the system includes several management modes, each employing a distinct management strategy for the IET. These modes are implemented using fuzzy logic tools, with a core of IF/THEN control rules that enable flexible and rapid decision-making. The fundamental concept is that the use of modes in decision-making inherently prioritizes specific operational objectives and consumption needs based on current conditions. The proposed system comprises three modes and is tested through a series of simulated scenarios. Results indicate that the IET can provide flexible energy management that adapts to dynamic conditions, outperforming a single-strategy system. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

If adversaries were to obtain quantum computers in the future, their massive computing power would likely break existing security schemes. Since security is a continuous process, more substantial security schemes must be developed. Current PQC schemes primarily focus on data security or key exchange, and further improvement towards enhanced PQC primitives is required. Our proposal in this research is an innovative paradigm for PQC-focused cloud data security. The proposed HEDT approach achieves encryption and decryption with significantly lower latency (20% improvement) and higher reliability than AES, DES, and RSA, as demonstrated through experimental results. Furthermore, ECSIDH, a hybrid key exchange mechanism combining SIDH and ECDH, improves security strength by 50% while maintaining computational costs within 1.13x of SIDH. Compared to individual key exchange schemes like SIDH, ECSIDH offers superior security as a PQC candidate. These results confirm the robustness and efficiency of the proposed framework in ensuring secure data outsourcing and key exchange in cloud environments. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. This paper primarily focuses on the design and development of a Low Cost & Compact Ventilator (LCCV) using Proportional Solenoid Valves (PSVs) and DC drive. The PSV, a promising technological component, is used to control the inspiratory to expiratory ratio [I:E ratio] of the ventilator module. Low-cost and low power-consuming electronic products available in the market are employed to produce an efficient, effective, and affordable LCCV. The dual channel DC drive used in the LCCV consists of a pair of step-down DC-DC choppers whose output is connected to two PSVs to control the I:E ratio of the ventilator system. The PWM pulses generated by an Arduino microcontroller is fed to the gate terminals of the MOSFET switches of dual-channel DC drive through driver and opto isolator *** duty cycle of the switching pulses of the dual channel DC drive is adjusted for fast dynamic operation of the PSVs. The inspiratory-to-expiratory (I:E) ratio can be set independently after assessing the patient's condition. A simulation of a dual-channel DC drive is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results obtained are consistent with the embedded hardware output of the LCCV module. Bluetooth technology is employed to test the functionality of a test lung with ventilator module, which replicates the behaviour of human lungs. The expansion and contraction, as well as the fast dynamic operation of the test lung are found to be controlled efficiently according to the I:E ratio and duty cycle settings of the LCCV module. The designed module is more affordable, operationally effective, and efficient than similar ventilator models on the market, making it ideal for launch with significant benefits for patients, especially in rural areas and ambulance systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Image retrieval is one of the fundamental tasks in computer vision that involves searching and retrieving relevant images to a query from a large collection of images. It has applications in various domains, including online education, image search engines and disease diagnosis. For image owners, it is often cost-effective to avail third-party owned computation and storage resources such as a cloud paradigm, to facilitate their image retrieval application. However, in addition to the associated privacy risks during transmission, storage and computation;image owners lose control over their data, which is not desirable, especially for privacy sensitive data. Therefore, this work proposes a searchable encryption scheme that protects images in a way that their features can be extracted in the encryption domain to ensure privacy. Also, it allows image owners to encrypt images with their own keys before uploading them to the cloud-server, thus leaving them in control of their data. In addition, we propose a feature fusion technique that combines fuzzy logic and color micro-structures to define an image in a high-dimensional feature space for retrieval application. The simulation analysis shows that for non-secure image retrieval, proposed fusion technique delivered up to 3% better precision score. On the other hand, our proposed searchable encryption method degraded precision up to 2% at best for secure image retrieval applications compared to its non-secure counterpart. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a fault-tolerant (FT) DC-DC boost converter developed for applications where high reliability is paramount. Employing a reconfiguration strategy, the converter integrates fault-tolerant functions without the need for extra components. Its adaptable topology ensures stable operation across various switch-fault cases, enabling fullpower post-fault performance and swift fault recovery, reducing downtime-a crucial factor in mission-critical uses. The design also optimizes power flow, leading to Reduced Redundant Power Processing and improved efficiency. Under different switch-fault scenarios, the converter exhibits adjusted operation characteristics. In Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM), it achieves significant voltage gain with low voltage stress on devices. Extensive MATLAB simulations validate the converter's performance, with results thoroughly analyzed. © 2025 IEEE.

CRG/2018/000084, to carry out this research work. proposes a differential privacy (DP) mechanism for the decentralised pool-based local energy market (PEM) model in the distribution grid. Many traditional PEM models employ alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to reduce the confidential information sharing between participants and energy market operator (EMO). However, an EMO/Aggregator with malicious intent or any cyber-attacker reading the communication between the EMO and participants can still infer the value by looking into their responses over a large time-span. To address the challenge, the proposed DP mechanism completely masks these shared exact information without altering the PEM output from the traditional one. The masking is achieved by three stages, namely 1) clustering, 2) random sharing, and 3) aggregation. The efficacy of the proposal is validated using the Pecan street dataset on MATLAB with Gurobi solver, and a very high degree of DP is observed without any loss of optimality in PEM clearing. © 2024 IEEE.

This brief analyses the residue amplifier non-idealities and design considerations for noise shaping (NS) successive approximation register (SAR) based multi stage noise shaping (MASH) analog to digital converter (ADC) architecture. One of the major source of performance degradation of MASH modulators occurs due to error leakage. The sources of errors causing this leakage are examined to assist designers understand the impact of amplifier non-idealities directly on the modulator performance. The analysis is conducted in MATLAB Simulink® by simulating both the non-idealities and the MASH modulator using mathematical equations. © 2025 IEEE.

Gallbladder cancer is a highly challenging malignancy within the field of oncology, distinguished by its diagnosis at an advanced stage and its restricted rates of survival. Gallbladder cancer classification from ultrasound images is a very difficult task due to poor image quality and speckle artifact. We suggest employing an ensemble of well-known Convolutional Neural Network models, such as VGG16, VGG19, XceptionNet, and ResNet50, to evaluate their effectiveness in differentiating between normal, benign, and malignant gall bladder conditions. As a result, the ensemble deep learning model significantly enhances the accuracy of classification. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent days accidents are increasing on an exponential basis due to drinking and drive. Driving after drinking alcohol is a major cause of the majority of the accidents due to which sometimes innocent people lose their lives. As the number of vehicles is increasing day by day, accidents are also occurring due to many reasons but alcohol consumption is a major factor in many of the accidents. To avoid these accidents, an alcohol detection and alert system for vehicles is proposed in this paper that is based on MQ3 sensor. The proposed system gives a coherent solution to control injuries because of consumption of alcohol while driving. The alcohol detected by the MQ-3 sensor is processed via an ATmega328P Microcontroller that collate it with a fixed threshold for compliance. The device will nonstop monitor concentration of alcohol by the alcohol recognition sensor and consequently flip off the working of automobile's engine if the alcohol concentration is exceeding threshold value. The replica can even send the alert of locality of the car via SIM900A (GSM module). The model presents an adequate answer to regulate injuries by the influence of alcohol driving. The LCD module is used to show that alcohol has been identified. The proposed system is cost effective, less bulky and more reliable. © 2024 IEEE.
