Many tracking systems are based on the Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) and smart phones, due to their wide availability and reliability. A moving object to be tracked, it sends its GPS coordinates to the observer via SMS. However, the economic feasibility of these systems mainly depends on the total cost of the used SMS messages. In this paper, an economic tracking scheme is proposed to reduce the tracking cost. A GPS-GSM tracking system that uses the proposed scheme is implemented and tested together with two classical tracking systems under two practical test cases. The first test case is a 121 km vehicle trip and the second is a 2.4 km walking journey. The results showed the effectiveness and economic feasibility of the proposed system, which achieved a saving in tracking cost up to about 64% with respect to the tested classical systems.

Product oriented manufacturing is aligned with one of the Industry 4.0 trends consisting of integrating all production systems. This implies shifting from a traditional view of manufacturing processes focused on production line in order to reduce costs, to a more flexible and customized product manufacturing. On the other hand, Multi Agent Systems (MAS) have been proved to be a suitable way to fulfill these requirements. However, a key aspect of the use of novel technologies is to offer methodologies and tools for supporting the implementation of such systems. In this sense, this paper uses Model Driven engineering and MAS technology to propose an architecture that is able to launch and execute a manufacturing execution plan. It focuses on the information models managed by architecture agents that can be customized to particular manufacturing plants as well as on the definition of agent templates.

In this paper a rotor angle estimation for permanent magnet synchronous motors under sliding motion is proposed. In the sliding mode control design stage, if the motor saliency (dependency of the stator inductances with the rotor position) is not considered, the decoupling process provide three independent switching functions that are fully decoupled among them. The technique proposed at this work uses the small deviations that appear in the switching functions when motor saliency is considered. In presence of saliency, the position of the rotor can be estimated measuring the slopes of the switching functions. The novelty of the method is that it can work at zero speed, where most of the estimation techniques based on observers fail, and without the necessity of injecting high frequency signals.

An effective representation model plays an important role in the visual tracking, as it relates to how the most meaningful information are recognized and understood in the dictionary space. However, it is difficult to know the structure and the weights of tracking objects in advance. In addition, how to balance the adaption and robustness in tracking algorithms remains a nontrivial problem. In this paper, we propose a robust visual tracker based on adaptive structure-enhanced regularizations, and achieve a sequential Monte Carlo searching via simplified particle filters. Specifically, multiple atomic norms are incorporated in the cost function in the target dictionary space, and their weights are updated adaptively during the detection step between each frame. Sparse and low-rank structures as well as other atomic norms enhance the robustness by capturing various features meanwhile ruling out outliers, and the velocity of moving objects are considered accordingly in the probabilistic distribution of particles. Moreover, the algorithm has been accelerated by adopting prefilters as classifiers for target particles using pixel variances in colours and intensities, which ensures a real-time tracking in practice. On challenging tracking datasets, the proposed approach show advantages in tracking fast-moving objects and favorable performance against other 10 state-of-the-art visual trackers.

In present world data is a valuable asset. The best utilization of this asset by means of technology gives an upper hand to an organization. Technologies like machine learning, data mining, and artificial intelligence are no exception to this either. Celebrities influence common people behaviors through biological, psychological and social processes to a great extent. Simultaneously there is vast disparity amongst their demise over the cause, region, and age. Therefore, it is a challenging and interesting endorsement to work upon. The objective of this work is to come up with the comprehensive result to understand the celebrity deaths by investigating the incidence happened over the decade. The database for training is created from the public and open access databases for years 2006-2016 comprising of 11, 200 reported deaths over the globe. Findings of the work are year by year extraction of death, the cause behind it, age, gender, and place. Lazy and decision tree classifier model of data mining is being used for the analysis based on the profession as evaluation class.
