An important characteristic in multicell parallel voltage source converters (VSCs), besides the enhancing of the current capacity, is the possibility of decreasing the energy storage in the output filter by interleaving the pulses sent to the semiconductors. As consequences, the filter components are smaller, losses are reduced and the electrical dynamics is enhanced, i.e. the filter presents higher bandwidth. Despite the higher speed as the number of cells increases, the filter's closed loop dynamics cannot follow continuously this improvement once the sampling/switching frequency limits the controller actuation. This paper presents a review about VSC output LCL filters and describes a methodology for the current controller design followed by an analysis in the frequency domain of the system's overall dynamics as the number of cells increases.

To improve rearrangement semantic rationality of video search results, this paper introduces the video annotation to mark based on the video content objectively. At the same time, the use of words semantic knowledge tree is important. Use the video annotation text and search terms in order to quantify the performance of the similarity. And combine video title and related text information to get the final video reranking sequence. The electronic ballast for high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps needs a high-ignition voltage produced by a high voltage pulse igniter. However, in the case of a street lamp, the distance from the lamp to the ballast makes it difficult for a conventional pulsed high-voltage igniter to turn on the HID lamps because the ignition voltage is reduced. Therefore, research must be carried out on a resonant ignition to turn on the HID lamps. In this paper, topology and an algorithm for a resonant ignition are compared and verified. First, when a transformer is used in a resonant ignition, the method for reducing the load of the igniter is compared and proposed. Second, the parasitic capacitance, which affects the resonant frequency, is increased depending the length of the cable. The ignition voltage can be increased drastically under the resonant ignition through a frequency sweep. A method for reducing the voltage of the igniter is proposed and analyzed.

In recent years, people have paid more attention to the shadow detection of moving target in video surveillance system. The shadow will directly affect the accuracy of moving target recognition, and do adverse effects on the subsequent processing such as target segmentation, target extraction and target tracking. So shadow elimination is an important part of intelligent video surveillance system. The paper proposes an efficient method of shadow elimination based on HSV color space and image region information. The proposed method uses the shadow elimination algorithm based on HSV color space to obtain the shadow regions to be dealt with. Then combining with the image region information, it judges whether the four boundary points of the moving target are shadow points. Eliminate the connected regions which shadow points exist from outer to inner along the shadow direction. It can avoid the regions whose color features are close to shadow inside the target object to be mistakenly eliminated. The experimental results show that the proposed method significantly improves the quality of shadow elimination.

In this paper, a novel self-interference (SI) suppression scheme based on Dempster-Shafer (D-S) evidence theory is proposed to cancel self-interference in two-way full-duplex (FD) MIMO relay. D-S evidence theory can appropriately characterize uncertainty and make full use of multiple evidence source information by Dempster's combination rule to obtain reliable decisions. Instead of traditional spatial-domain suppression schemes, the proposed DS-Sum and Difference(SAD)-PNC scheme adopts D-S evidence theory to detect the sum and difference signal for two source nodes considering the SI cancellation in obtaining basic probability assignment (BPA) function in the multiple access (MA) phase. For comparison, Log-Likelihood-Ratio (LLR) combining technique is extended for FD mode with SI suppression considered in soft information computation for network-coded symbol. In the broadcast (BC) phase, antenna selection scheme is adopted to achieve full transmit diversity gain. Simulation results reveal that the proposed DS-SAD-PNC scheme obtains better end-to-end average bit error rate (BER) performance compared with extended MIMO-LLR-PNC and traditional spatial-domain suppression schemes like ZF and MMSE with a little complexity increased.

This paper presents a novel facial expression recognition approach in the presence of partial occlusion using Gabor filters and gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM). At first, we design an algorithm to extract the block Gabor feature statistics according to the spatial distribution of the face organ. Then, GLCM is firstly introduced into expression recognition field to make up for the deficiency of block Gabor feature, in which the association between pixels is absent. Finally, the block Gabor feature statistics is linear superimposed with the texture feature extracted by GLCM, after Gaussian normalization there generates a set of low-dimensional feature vectors for expression feature representation. The experimental results on JAFFE and RaFD show the high robustness and better recognition rates of the proposed novel approach under different types of occlusion.
