The project optimization model includes a multilayer geoinformation model of the floodplain a rea with real a nd simulated topography layers, channel structure, settlements and transportion infrastructure;a hydrodynamic model of flood development;a simulation model of population evacuation under developing catastrophic flooding of the area. Geoinformation and hydrodynamic modeling is carried out with the help of the software and algorithmic package Web-ECOGIS, designed to model emergency situations on rivers and reservoirs, as well as to model seasonal floods. The package uses modern GIS-technologies, parallel computing technologies OpenMP, MPI, CUDA. Vector maps of flooded areas in this package include topography layers, hydrological system, social and economic infrastructure. An approximate solution to the optimization problem, which is a binary knapsack problem, is constructed using the 'greedy' algorithm, and the exact solution is constructed using the dynamic programming method. The article presents the results of simulation of the development of catastrophic flooding emergency situation on the territory of the northern part in the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain (VAF) with an increase in the intensity of the spring flood during its development. The authors determine the parameters of the evacuation situation when resources are scarce and identify flooded settlements a nd sections of the road network. Based on the results of the simulation, an approximate and exact cost-output dependence for the project under study are constructed. © 2022 IEEE.

A new approach to the analysis of the dynamics of the territorial structure of floodplain territories of regulated rivers, based on statistical processing of natural observation data, hydrodynamic and geoinformation modeling using high-performance computing, is described. The main tool of our analysis is a new model of the complex structure of the floodplain territory, which is a superposition of its hydrological, natural (ecological) and socio-economic structures. Hydrological simulation results are based on self-consistent models of surface water, sediment and groundwater dynamics using realistic digital terrain. © 2021 IEEE.

This article deals with the flash flood risk dynamics in the most urbanized northern part of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain. The authors present the results of scenario-simulation modeling for disastrous flooding of the northern part of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain (VAF) under a high water flow rate at the Volga Hydroelectric Station (VHES) during the spring flood *** modeling was based on the Web-EKOGIS software package designed to model emergencies in rivers and reservoirs, as well as seasonal floods, using modern GIS technology and parallel computing technologies like OpenMP, MPI, CUDA. Vector maps of the floodplain in this package include terrain, water system, and social and economic infrastructure *** authors classified settlements depending on the type of flooding risk into those that can be evacuated by land and those that *** authors study the impacts of flood wall construction in the Volga and Akhtuba river courses. It was established that the construction of the flood wall in the Akhtuba course was efficient, while the construction of a dam in the Volga river had an adverse effect. © 2023 IEEE.

This article presents a description of a transdisci-plinary project-research task, carried out within the framework of laboratory works on several disciplines of the 5th and 6th semesters of the educational process in the direction of bachelor's degree 01.03.02 'Applied Mathematics and informatics' in the form of a meta-game 'Designing a management system for sustainable development of the territory of the northern part of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain', developed on the basis of the results obtained by the team of teachers and researchers of the Department of fundamental informatics and optimal Learning of the Volgograd State University implementing the RSF grant № 23-621-0017. The project-research task is aimed at the students' mastering the connection of substantive analysis of decision-making problems in the ecological-economic system with econometric, ecological-metric, expert, geoinformational, game-theoretic methods of research, methods of graph theory, integer optimization and computational experiment, methods and technologies of simulation hydrodynamic and geoinformational modeling and distributed computing. The relevance of the research topic proposed to the students is determined by the fact that nowadays all over the world the territories of floodplains of regulated rivers (FT) are subject to progressive ecological and socio-economic degradation due to the violation of the natural hydrological regime, depression of the river channel, high anthropogenic load. The assignment includes optimization of the hydraulic en-gineering project for installation of a system of flood dams by the Federal Center on the territory of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain, taking into account the activity of its economic entities. In this paper, the input data for the development of the simulation model were defined. The basis of the simulation model was developed and the adjustments that need to be made to the model to improve the output data were identified. The problem of counteracting anthropogenic degradation of modern river floodplains through the construction of dams in river channels is an urgent topic of research worldwide. This paper presents a comparative analysis of the accuracy and efficiency of three algorithms for controlling flood water flows in small channels in the northern part of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain in order to increase the flooded target area. A two-level dynamic programming algorithm, an algorithm for optimizing flows in a network, and the original two-level and one-level heuristic donor-acceptor algorithms are investigated. Water dynamics calculations are based on shallow water equations. The calculations use the original EcoGIS-Simulation software package for numerical modeling of surface water dynamics with a digital elevation model of the northern part of the Volga-Akhtuba floodplain. The computational core of EcoGIS-Simulation is based on the numerical algorithm CSPH-TVD, which combines Lagrangian (Smoothed-ParticleHydrodynamics) and Eulerian (TotalVariationDiminishing) approaches. Parallel computations are performed on NVIDIATesla GPUs (graphics processing units). The conducted study showed in general low accuracy and efficiency of the investigated algorithms for water flow control. The relative error of all algorithms significantly exceeded the relative error of geoinformation and hydrodynamic modeling. The reason for this is the insufficiently high adequacy of the models for controlling unsteady water flows in a channel system with unstable structure. The heuristic one-level algorithm “donors-acceptors”, using the simplest control model, showed higher accuracy and efficiency compared to other algorithms.

Polygenic risk scores (PRS) for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) have the potential to improve risk stratification. Joint estimation of Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) effects in models could improve predictive performance over standard approaches of PRS construction. Here, we implemented computationally efficient, penalized, logistic regression models (lasso, elastic net, stepwise) to individual level genotype data and a Bayesian framework with continuous shrinkage, “select and shrink for summary statistics” (S4), to summary level data for epithelial non-mucinous ovarian cancer risk prediction. We developed the models in a dataset consisting of 23,564 non-mucinous EOC cases and 40,138 controls participating in the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium (OCAC) and validated the best models in three populations of different ancestries: prospective data from 198,101 women of European ancestries; 7,669 women of East Asian ancestries; 1,072 women of African ancestries, and in 18,915 BRCA1 and 12,337 BRCA2 pathogenic variant carriers of European ancestries. In the external validation data, the model with the strongest association for non-mucinous EOC risk derived from the OCAC model development data was the S4 model (27,240 SNPs) with odds ratios (OR) of 1.38 (95% CI: 1.28–1.48, AUC: 0.588) per unit standard deviation, in women of European ancestries; 1.14 (95% CI: 1.08–1.19, AUC: 0.538) in women of East Asian ancestries; 1.38 (95% CI: 1.21–1.58, AUC: 0.593) in women of African ancestries; hazard ratios of 1.36 (95% CI: 1.29–1.43, AUC: 0.592) in BRCA1 pathogenic variant carriers and 1.49 (95% CI: 1.35–1.64, AUC: 0.624) in BRCA2 pathogenic variant carriers. Incorporation of the S4 PRS in risk prediction models for ovarian cancer may have clinical utility in ovarian cancer prevention programs.
