Currently, vehicles are equipped with various sensors that can collect a series of driving behavior data while driving. The driving behavior data obtained in this way can be used to analyze the causes of traffic accidents and evaluate driver skills. However, when performing the above analysis, a specific driving scene is defined and driving behavior data for that driving scene is required. On the other hand, the series of driving behavior data obtained during one driving operation is enormous, and it is not easy to pick up desired driving scene data from among them. This research aims to establish a driving scene clustering method for a series of driving behavior data. In this paper, a driving scene is defined as a scene in which road shape and operation are associated, and propose a driving scene clustering method considered road shape. Here, a road map image is acquired from position information obtained from a GPS sensor, and the relationship between the road map image and operation data is clustered based on Coupled-GP-HSMM. © 2023 IEEE.

We study the framework of a dynamic decision-making scenario with resource constraints. In this framework, an agent, whose target is to maximize the total reward under the initial inventory, selects an action in each round upon observing a random request, leading to a reward and resource consumptions that are further associated with an unknown random external factor. While previous research has already established an Oe(√T) worst-case regret for this problem, this work offers two results that go beyond the worst-case perspective: one for the worst-case gap between benchmarks and another for logarithmic regret rates. We first show that an Ω(√T) distance between the commonly used fluid benchmark and the online optimum is unavoidable when the former has a degenerate optimal solution. On the algorithmic side, we merge the re-solving heuristic with distribution estimation skills and propose an algorithm that achieves an Oe(1) regret as long as the fluid LP has a unique and non-degenerate solution. Furthermore, we prove that our algorithm maintains a near-optimal Oe(√T) regret even in the worst cases and extend these results to the setting where the request and external factor are continuous. Regarding information structure, our regret results are obtained under two feedback models, respectively, where the algorithm accesses the external factor at the end of each round and at the end of a round only when a non-null action is executed. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Heart attack, also called Myocardial infarction, is when the blood supply to the heart muscle is significantly decreased or entirely blocked. The early diagnosis of heart attacks is essential for protecting against adverse cardiac events and delivering prompt medical assistance. The real-time heart attack detection system presented in this study solves the shortcomings of previous approaches. The proposed study gathers data from patients using IoT technologies, such as temperature, heart rate, and pulse oximeter sensors. Then, for safe storage and later analysis, these sensor values are sent to a cloud-based database. The key innovation lies in the integration of cloud-based data storage with mobile application. The final result of the study is in the form of mobile application which is an interface between doctors and patients and provides real-time temperature, heart-rate, and oxygen saturation monitoring. The application compares the gathered data to predetermined thresholds and, if abnormal readings are found, sends immediate alerts to both the doctor and the patient's mobile devices. The results show that it has the potential to improve patient outcomes, lower healthcare expenses, and offer insightful data for medical research. © 2023 IEEE.

An inappropriate diet is one of the main causes of poor health. However, it is difficult to sustain a quantitative diet assessment in the general living environment. Food object detection is a key method for solving this problem;still, it is difficult to find studies that apply recent object detection techniques. In addition, the currently used high-performance food object detection models have a special architecture that combines two deep learning models-food localization and food classification-in series to achieve high accuracy. The disadvantage of this architecture is that it is difficult to predict the scalability of a model. In this study, we built an end-to-end food object detection model using the Swin Transformer, which is one of the latest backbone models. The experiment was conducted to compare the performance of the UECFOOD dataset with other food object detection studies. For the UECFOOD-100 dataset, a mAP(mean Average Precision) of 0.522 was obtained;also, a mAP of 0.52 was obtained for the UECFOOD-256 dataset. The findings show that the proposed model that uses only end-to-end object detection produces better performance than previous studies using a combination of food localization and food classification. © 2022 ACM.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a revolutionary technology disrupting the process of finding solutions for various sustainability challenges. Specifically, AI is having a significant influence on many sectors, especially agriculture, energy, waste management, and biodiversity conservation. This paper offers a comprehensive overview of AI's applications in sustainable resource management, with a special focus on green agriculture as a case study, in which the application of AI greatly enhances the efficiency of resource use, crop yield, and environmental conservation efforts. This overview describes the potential application of AI to address performance concerns (ethical value, energy use, and data quality deficiency), and proposes the future research directions such as the explainable AI, circular economies, and the integration of AI with the Internet of Things (IoT) to guide researchers and policymakers in exploiting AI to enhance sustainability in key domains.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) revolutionizes healthcare by integrating medical devices and systems with the internet. However, the vast amounts of sensitive medical data in IoMT networks pose significant security and privacy concerns. Traditional security measures often fall short in identifying the malicious data attacks within the IoMT ecosystems. This paper introduces an AI-based non-malicious data classification scheme based on blockchain. We applied and evaluated the machine learning (ML) classifiers, such as support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), and K-Nearest neighbor (KNN). We evaluated the proposed framework based on various performance metrics that includes accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The accuracy using SVM obtained 75.3%, RF is 75.9%, and KNN is 84.3%. The results shows that KNN performs better than other models by the factor of 9%. © 2024 IEEE.

Requirements engineering (RE) is an essential part of the software development process. Good RE, among others, is the basis for high quality software, considerably reduces the risk for software projects to fail entirely or with budget-overspending and is crucial for coordinating systems and software engineering. Thus, RE education is a vital part of software engineering curricula. However, a central concept of what RE education comprise and how to best teach RE is lacking. Therefore, we conducted a systematic literature review of the field and provide a systematic map describing the state of the RE education field. Results for key trends in RE instruction of the past decade include involvement of real or realistic stakeholders, teaching predominantly elicitation as an RE activity, and increasing student factors such as motivation or communication skills. © 2023 IEEE.

The development of a crowd digital twin offers significant potential for enhancing public safety, urban planning, and event management. A key challenge in creating such a digital twin lies in the efficient and accurate acquisition of crowd-related data, particularly through object detection models deployed on resource-constrained devices. Through a series of experiments, we compare TinyML and Edge approaches in terms of detection accuracy, inferencing time, and resource utilization. Our findings highlight the trade-offs inherent in selecting detection models for crowd digital twin applications, underscoring the importance of aligning model choice with specific deployment needs. © 2025 IEEE.

A decision tree is an easy-to-understand tool that has been widely used for classification tasks. On the one hand, due to privacy concerns, there has been an urgent need to create privacy-preserving classifiers that conceal the user's input from the classifier. On the other hand, with the rise of cloud computing, data owners are keen to reduce risk by outsourcing their model, but want security guarantees that third parties cannot steal their decision tree model. To address these issues, Joye and Salehi introduced a theoretical protocol that efficiently evaluates decision trees while maintaining privacy by leveraging their comparison protocol that is resistant to timing attacks. However, their approach was not only inefficient but also prone to side-channel attacks. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new decision tree inference protocol in which the model is shared and evaluated among multiple entities. We partition our decision tree model by each level to be stored in a new entity we refer to as a "level-site."Utilizing this approach, we were able to gain improved average run time for classifier evaluation for a non-complete tree, while also having strong mitigations against side-channel attacks. © 2024 IEEE.

When a disaster strikes, man-made or natural, evacuation plans are put under immediate constraints, including topological, temporal, and spontaneously occurring events such as fire, smoke and obstacles introducing bottlenecks and impeding ingress and egress. Planning for uncertainties arising from indoor evacuations can be complex as there’s a fine balance to strike between a too-detailed plan and one that’s too vague. Such constraints apply to office and residential buildings, airports, mining sites, stadiums, ships, etc. Although some indoor spatial models have been developed, many are complex, and their applicability is non-universal. This paper proposes an innovative approach that harnesses the power of the Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL) based on Web Ontology Language (OWL) to enhance existing evacuation planning methods through data-rich modelling. The OWL ontology serves as a formal representation of real-world concepts, their relationships, and properties. To demonstrate its application, the ontology is implemented in a case study involving London Metropolitan University’s Tower Building, and its design is elucidated in this paper.
