This work investigates multiple-mode tracking method with node selection using bearings-only measurements. We combine multiple-mode extended Kalman filter with node resource management to conserve energy while tracking a maneuvering target. Experiments using real data show that the MM adapts quicker to target maneuvers than the realizable single-mode tracker. Additional experiments show that the simplex node selection leads to better geolocation performance compared to the closest node selection when the number of active nodes is set to two.

We generalize a new incoherent wideband direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm that provides higher resolution than traditional incoherent techniques. The new method is able to better adjust its beam response when multiple sources are present than incoherent MUSIC. The original algorithm was designed to work strictly for an uniform linear array. In this paper, we demonstrate how to generalize the algorithm to work over arbitrary 1-D or 2-D arrays. We demonstrate the higher resolution of the new algorithm against incoherent MUSIC for 1-D and 2-D arrays using simulations of two source signals.

The contribution deals with the contextual design of spatial data for the purposes of the regional development, land management and government, describes the role of remote sensing data and contextual modelling for the context oriented geo-information and tries to provide the framework for the object hierarchy of classes and propose the ways of structure and behaviour modelling. The digital geographic databases are rapidly growing and the problem has shifted from finding the data to finding meaningful geographic information or better knowledge from the large volumes of data. GIS technology is changing to GIM technology (Geographical Information Management). Many users have their own specific requirements for the access to data, with regards to the administrative units where the evaluation is provided and considered the relations and contextual and temporal background for the data processing. Object-oriented image analysis is based on an object-oriented approach to image analysis. In contrast to the classical imageprocessing method, the basic processing units are image objects or segments. Further motivation for the object-oriented approach is the fact that the expected result of most image analysis tasks is a set of real world objects. The topological relations of single or adjacent pixels are given by the raster implicitly. The increasing resolution of the sources results in the increasing number of objects of course and moreover the complexity of object structuring hierarchy is rapidly growing too. The automation of the classification and interpretation process gives better results when the fuzzy elements are implemented.

Fuzzy-based clustering algorithm is becoming popular in imageprocessing, especially in image segmentation. Based on the degree of the membership function, each pixel can be grouped into "natural group" of pixels according to the spatial coordinate using their values. In this work we present features extraction based on fuzzy clustering and segmentation onto the motion region for medium field surveillance application. Instead of using blob analysis, we believe that fuzzy based clustering algorithm, can also be used to generate different clusters. Incorporating the motion-based segmentation the complexity of the fuzzy clustering is also reduced because only the motion region is processed to the clustering algorithm.
