The latest advancements in blockchain technology have significantly influenced several sectors, such as banking, healthcare, and supply chain networks. Because of its distinct attributes, like decentralization, trustworthiness, and security, this technology has recently been employed in the field of education. While the blockchain is bright, several problems, such as legal, immutability, and scalability questions, continue to hinder its adoption in education. Increasing cyber threats have rendered traditional security solutions such as firewalls and intrusion-detection/prevention systems insufficient in providing adequate protection against advanced persistent threats to homeland security. To enhance protection, the implementation of active cyber defense is recommended, offering alternative yet effective measures against these threats. This paper examines the phases of the cyber kill chain, one of the cyber defense techniques, which has been enhanced to analyze and understand advanced persistent threats. It explains the use of deception, slowdown, and counterattacks for active cyber defense. Additionally, the utilization of artificial intelligence in active cyber defense techniques is discussed. Finally, the paper elucidates how these techniques can be employed within the scope of active cyber defense to enhance security. © 2024 IEEE.

Kindergarten education has a very important role in shaping the foundation of child development. For parents, see reports on the achievement of children's development at school through the results of each semester's assessment. The process of preparing teacher assessments uses 4 types of assessments, one of which is anecdotal record assessment. However, teachers experience problems in analyzing the topics in children's anecdotal notes so that the results become less clear. In addition, it is still done manually so it takes a long time to analyze. Assessment of children's anecdotal notes is an assessment in the form of a record of events that occur to children while at school. Anecdotal notes are in the form of text data, therefore this research aims to find out the topics in children's anecdotal notes data by utilizing topic modeling using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) method. The children's anecdotal notes data is used as one dataset with a total of 276 collected directly from YBPK Sidorejo Kindergarten, after which data preprocessing is carried out in the form of case folding, remove punctuation, tokenizing, stopwords, and stemming. In the LDA topic modeling research using the Gensim library, 5 experiments were carried out by determining the number of different iterations, and displaying a range of 2-10 topics for each experiment. Analysis and evaluation using coherence score to determine the optimal number of topics by looking at the highest coherence score value in the experiment conducted. The analysis results in 3 topics with a coherence score of 0.4704 and 40 iterations or passes. © 2024 IEEE.

A novel embedded controller is proposed for the management of electrical consumption in residential installations. The proposed system is designed to implement well-established DSM techniques. It can be placed directly into the electrical board of a residential circuit and can be connected to the smart grid. The controller is based on a PIC microcontroller and incorporates a series of perceptrons which adjust the duty cycle of PWM modules according to user defined preferences. The system is tested in laboratory conditions and is proved to be able to adjust the total current to a predefined threshold, without violating user comfort and priorities. The proposed embedded controller is a flexible solution in the form of a final product, ready for the smart grid and able to support microgrids. © 2024 IEEE.

The requirements for university graduation were changed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in August 2023, where a thesis is no longer required and can be replaced with another form. The existence of this regulation has caused discussion in the community with various responses visible through social media Instagram. Instagram has become a forum for sharing the latest topics for the public, causing the emergence of online media accounts such as Folkative. This research aims to analyze sentiment regarding the policy of eliminating thesis obligations at universities through data collected from comments on Folkative's Instagram account posts. Sentiment analysis was carried out using Logistic Regression for classification, K-Fold Cross Validation for data validation, Confusion Matrix for evaluation, and ADASYN to resolve data imbalances. The data collected from the scraping process was 4,172 comments. After carrying out the classification and performance evaluation process, the best method produced was a combination of Logistic Regression and ADASYN achieving results of 89.6% accuracy, 91.5% precision, 87.7% recall, and f-1 score 89.5%. This shows that the performance of the Logistic Regression method is good and suitable for use as a classification model in this research. © 2024 IEEE.

Amidst rapid urbanization and fluctuating climatic patterns, the world witnessed a surge in mosquito-borne diseases, escalating global health concerns. Mosquitoes, often dismissed as mere irritants, are carriers for a spectrum of conditions, including malaria, dengue, and the Zika virus, with WHO reporting large numbers of dengue cases annually. This review delves deep into the observation of mosquito behavior and the challenges in eradicating these pests, emphasizing the inefficacy of singular sensory targeting repellents. This paper introduces a pioneering device, combining the mosquito's affinity towards light with the suffocating effects of metofluthrin, offering a holistic solution. By the combination of advanced engineering with a comprehensive understanding of mosquito behavioral dynamics, this device promises not only to repel but to substantially reduce these vectors, fostering safer indoor spaces. Fully-3D-Printed Microwave Sensor for Permittivity Measurement

This paper presents the design and performance evaluation of a novel 3D-printed microwave sensor for dielectric characterization. The sensor utilizes a modified complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) structure integrated within the ground plane. The sensor’s ability to measure both solids and liquids is demonstrated, with solid samples placed in proximity to the resonator and fluids injected into the embedded channel, thereby avoiding additional materials for fluidic channels. The sensor’s performance is evaluated based on changes in resonant frequency due to variations in dielectric constants. For solids, the resonant frequency shifts from 4.24 GHz to 2.66 GHz with increasing permittivity. For liquids, the frequency ranges from 4.24 GHz to 3.27 GHz for permittivity values between 1 and 80. An equivalent circuit model is developed to validate the sensor’s performance. The sensor is fabricated using the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) method with conductive layers applied via copper aerosol spray. The sensor’s versatility is demonstrated through testing with a range of solid substrates, such as Rogers 5880, FR4, Rogers 3006, and Rogers 6010, as well as four liquid samples—methanol, ethanol, propanol, and distilled water. The sensor effectively measures dielectric constants by monitoring shifts in resonant frequency, which vary with the permittivity of the tested samples. With an overall compact design of 30 mm × 40 mm × 1.6 mm, the sensor requires minimal liquid volume and achieves comparable sensitivity, with 4.05% for solids and 0.3% for liquids. The sensor’s resolution, accuracy, and low fabrication cost make it a promising tool for precise dielectric constant measurement. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Kidney disorders are a major public health issue affecting millions worldwide. Renal calculi and cancer are prevalent, causing chronic kidney disease(CKD). Artificial intelligence can assist in the precise diagnosis of kidney *** developed an end-to-end system using a custom CNN model to extract informative features from kidney images. Multiple ML classifiers provide complementary perspectives. A High-Performance Filter(HPF) selects the top classifiers for an ensemble model. The interactive web interface enables real-time prediction. Our approach achieves excellent performance metrics with an accuracy of 99.98%. Overall, We demonstrate an automated system combining deep learning and ensembling for the accurate characterization of diverse kidney abnormalities, which can aid in the early detection and treatment of CKD. © 2024 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurological condition characterized by the degeneration of neuron cells, leading to cognitive impairment. This project investigates the effectiveness of EEG-based features for detecting Alzheimer's Disease using deep learning techniques. The dataset comprises EEG recordings from healthy controls, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) patients, and patients diagnosed with AD. Data preprocessing involved segmenting the EEG signals into fixed-length epochs and filtering the baseline EEG into alpha, beta, and theta frequency bands. Features such as Mean Phase Coherence (MPC), Differential Entropy (DE), and Mean Squared Coherence (MSC) were computed pairwise for each epoch and frequency band. A feature matrix was constructed for each subject by stacking these features, which were then converted into images and used as input data for a ResNet50-based pre-trained model. The model was tested in leave-one-out cross-validation setting and achieved results comparable to the state-of-the-art in distinguishing between EEG recordings from healthy and AD-affected subjects. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a comparative analysis of DNN-models, including TensorFlow Lite, SSD-MobileNet, Mask R-CNN and YOLOv8, for the high-precision detection and classification of small objects in aerial search and rescue scenarios. The study features a proprietary dataset collected through drone flights over an extended period. The model performance was evaluated on compact computing platforms like Jetson Nano and Raspberry Pi, emphasizing detection accuracy and computational efficiency. Results reveal trade-offs between model complexity and real-time processing capabilities.
