Bike sharing is efficient urban mobility method as a user determines the rental period upon his/her demand. A dock-based sharing system designates places (i.e., bike docks or stations) where a user rents or returns a bike. Due to regionally and temporally erratic nature of urban mobility demand, bike imbalance among stations inevitably occurs and a service operator rebalances bikes to prevent service impairment. The precise prediction of imbalance for each station is essential to optimize the rebalancing schedule. This paper presents Dual-Branch Neural Networks (DBNNs) employing Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to classify the imbalance level of each station along with the prediction of bike counts. To address the dual objectives, the model trains by backpropagating both classification and prediction losses to the dual output branches individually, and jointly updates the trainable parameters of LSTM layers. The results showcase that the proposed model predicts bike counts within 8% average error for next 24 hours, and achieves 94% accuracy of classification for the same time period. © 2023 IEEE.

Kalimantan's tropical rainforest is home to indigenous plants of the Dipterocarpaceae family (tribe), which is renowned for having the most endemic species. Dipterocarp is a family of pantropical plants, many of which are used in the wood industry. This study aims to provide information on the potential of Dipterocarp in Kalimantan forests. Education and conservation efforts for Dipterocarp trees, a prominent component of the forest ecosystem, are crucial in light of the significant harm done to Kalimantan's rainforests. The authors develop the Borneo Smart Forest information system. This system digitally organizes data on the diversity of Dipterocarp in the Kalimantan rainforest based on Web and QR-Code technology. Borneo Smart Forest (BSF) system for monitoring plant inventory and plant markers can be read by smartphones using QR codes. It gives visitors a comprehensive overview of the plants. A QR code is a printed, two-dimensional barcode with limited space for data storage. This technology allows the plant to show earlier administrator-made additions to the inventory information system. The QR code will direct the user to the BSF website, which has data about the plants. The development of this system is one of the efforts to support the achievement of Dipterocarp conservation. © 2022 IEEE.

Speech recognition plays a major role in technology that enables computers and devices to understand and interpret human speech, while speaker identification is a specialized application within speech recognition that focuses on recognizing and distinguishing individual speakers based on their unique vocal characteristics. By utilizing techniques such as feature extraction, pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms speaker identification systems can match an input speech sample to a known set of speaker profiles and determine the most likely speaker's identity. This process involves comparing the extracted features of the input speech with the features stored in a database or model. In this project we are performing a comparative study which mainly focuses on extracting features through MFCC feature extraction for all models in common and then the implementation of identifying speakers using Gaussian Mixture Model, CNN, LSTM in case of RNN, k-Nearest Neighbour and a Random Forest Classifier.A comparative study on various types of models helps us to pave way on analyzing these to implement one of the best among these in day to day life. Among all the models, GMM performed very well with an accuracy of 98.68% followed by LSTM with an accuracy of 95.77%. © 2023 IEEE.

Image data is used in various fields, including the health sector. One of the image data in the health sector is an electrocardiogram (ECG). The ECG contains the identifying information of a person which must be guarded and secured. ECG image data security can be done by encrypting image data using encryption algorithms. The encryption algorithms used in this thesis are ECDH and AES-GCM. ECDH is used to generate key pairs which are then used as keys for AES-GCM encryption and decryption. The encryption and decryption process are carried out in the python programming language. The results of the encryption time and decryption time increase because of the dimensions and size of the ECG image file. The nonce value and authentication tag are checked to be able to perform the decryption process. The histogram test results prove the uniformity of pixels in the encrypted ECG image file. PSNR and SSIM test results prove the difference between the initial and encrypted ECG image files. The results of the NIST Statistical Test Suite test prove that the algorithm used produces random output so that it can be used to secure ECG image files. © 2022 IEEE.

Breast cancer is a principal cause of mortality among women globally, and early identification and diagnosis can significantly increase patients' survival rates. This paper introduces a novel approach for detecting breast cancer using Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) and a Weighted Bidirectional Extreme Learning Machine (WBELM). The proposed technique utilizes VMD to break mammographic images into multiple modes, each signifying distinct frequency constituents. Following this decomposition, the WBELM is deployed to classify these modes into benign or malignant categories. The method's efficacy is assessed using the Digital Database for Screening Mammography (DDSM), and the simulations demonstrate a commendable accuracy rate of 97.61 %, a sensitivity rate of 97.54 %, and a specificity rate of 97.68%. © 2023 IEEE.

This article presents a simple, high-gain, E-shaped antenna suitable for 5G applications in the unlicensed 60 GHz band, characterized by high absorption and path losses. In order to optimize the reflection coefficient performance, enhance the gain, and adjust the resonance frequency of the proposed antenna, two identical slits are incorporated into the front edge of the radiating patch. The proposed structure is built on a Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 dielectric substrate, characterized by a thickness of 0.118 mm, a dielectric constant of 2.2, and a tangent loss of 0.0009. The development and progress of the means of transportation are needed for people to mobilize all activities However, currently conventional public transportation such as urban transportation has become less attractive to the public because of all the factors that cause people not to choose conventional transportation over online-based public transportation. The mechanism of the cost for urban transport is still not by with the passenger route using the city transportation service, for which a passenger record system is established to be able to determine the route of passenger location and the data of each passenger who wishes to ride to use the transportation services of the city, as well as the cost system travel passenger city transportation can be set and set according to the distance of travel from passengers. The Red Palm Weevil (RPW) is a major threat to the date palm industry, requiring early detection strategies. This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of two bioacoustic sensor prototypes tailored for the early detection of RPW. The first prototype employs a Raspberry Pi 4 coupled with a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), achieving a detection accuracy of 99.02%. The second device, built with an ESP32-WROVER module, integrates a Simple Neural Network (SNN) for audio classification and attains an accuracy of 98.79%. This design's affordability and low power consumption make it particularly suited for large-scale deployment in agricultural settings. This paper delves deeper into the bioacoustic sensor technology used, the dataset chosen for CNN and SNN models training, and provides a comparison between the two device designs in terms of cost and efficiency. Our project's commitment to iterative improvement aims to provide an effective solution to counteract RPW's destructive effects on date palm cultivation. © 2023 IEEE.

Elliptic curve cryptosystem is a widely-used public key cryptosystem that is vulnerable to physical attacks, especially to Side Channel Analysis (SCA) attacks. This paper investigates a version of the atomic patterns kP algorithm for elliptic curves over prime finite fields. The atomic patterns for Elliptic Curve (EC) point doublings and additions are well-known countermeasures against simple SCA attacks. We implemented a binary left-to-right kP algorithm corresponding to the atomic patterns as proposed by Rondepierre and using the FLECC open-source cryptographic library. The library provides constant-time functions for the implementation of different mathematic operations in prime finite fields, making it suitable for SCA-aware implementations of cryptographic protocols, at a theoretical level. We were able to reveal the scalar k processed during a kP execution analyzing the measured electromagnetic trace of the kP execution. We determined at least two parts in the measured trace where the distinction between EC point doublings and EC point additions is good observable. © 2023 IEEE.

We consider the min-max graph balancing problem with strict negative correlation (SNC) constraints. The graph balancing problem arises as an equivalent formulation of the classic unrelated machine scheduling problem, where we are given a hypergraph G = (V, E) with vertex-dependent edge weight function p: E × V 7→ Z≥0 that represents the processing time of the edges (jobs). The SNC constraints, which are given as edge subsets C1, C2, . . ., Ck, require that the edges in the same subset cannot be assigned to the same vertex at the same time. Under these constraints, the goal is to compute an edge orientation (assignment) that minimizes the maximum workload of the vertices. In this paper, we conduct a general study on the approximability of this problem. First, we show that, in the presence of SNC constraints, the case with maxe∈E |e| = maxi |Ci| = 2 is the only case for which approximation solutions can be obtained. Further generalization on either direction, e.g., maxe∈E |e| or maxi |Ci|, will directly make computing a feasible solution an NP-complete problem to solve. Then, we present a 2-approximation algorithm for the case with maxe∈E |e| = maxi |Ci| = 2, based on a set of structural simplifications and a tailored assignment LP for this problem. We note that our approach is general and can be applied to similar settings, e.g., scheduling with SNC constraints to minimize the weighted completion time, to obtain similar approximation guarantees. Further cases are discussed to describe the landscape of the approximability of this prbolem. For the case with |V | ≤ 2, which is already known to be NP-hard, we present a fully-polynomial time approximation scheme (FPTAS).
