An experiment based method is proposed for parameter estimation of a class of linear multivariable systems. The method was applied to a pressure‐level control process. Experimental time domain input/output data was utilized in a gray‐box modeling approach. Prior knowledge of the form of the system transfer function matrix elements is assumed to be known. Continuous‐time system transfer function matrix parameters were estimated in real‐time by the least‐squares method. Simulation results of experimentally determined system transfer function matrix compare very well with the experimental results. For comparison and as an alternative to the proposed real‐time estimation method, we also implemented an offline identification method using artificial neural networks and obtained fairly good results. The proposed methods can be implemented conveniently on a desktop PC equipped with a data acquisition board for parameter estimation of moderately complex linear multivariable systems.

In this paper, we propose a new blind SLM scheme with low complexity using m-sequence as a phase sequence in OFDM. The proposed scheme significantly reduces the computational complexity for searching the side information of the phase sequence and decoding the alternative symbol sequence at the receiver. After generating alternative symbol sequences using a set of phase sequences, the side information for each alternative symbol sequence is embedded in it through block partitioning and phase rotation. The proposed method does not need additional inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) and has the same PAPR reduction performance compared to the conventional SLM scheme. In order to find the side information, a maximum likelihood (ML) decoder with lower complexity is derived, which guarantees lower detection failure probability of side information compared to the conventional blind SLM scheme.

In this research work we investigate the analysis of Acoustic Emission (AE) signals using wavelet decomposition to locate a single event (crack), which usually takes place in three typical areas in a ship hull. The problem is a typical classification problem relying on the use of novel features extracted from the AE time series. As in most classification problems the extraction and selection of the most appropriate set of features plays a major role in the overall performance of the method and it is by no means a trivial task. Once a suitable set of features is extracted even ldquosimplerdquo classification models can perform adequately whereas a non-informative set of features even combined with sophisticated classifiers can lead to disappointing results. Here, we exploit the multi-resolution capabilities of wavelet decomposition, so that a set of features is extracted which it is then combined with a simple classifier. The proposed method gives superior classification rates for noisy environments compared to our previous work where conventional methods for feature extraction were deployed.

Recently, copper metallization has been widely developed in TFT-e of its lowest electrical resistivity compared LCD industry, because to aluminum and its alloys. In addition, the copper metallization becomes a more significant issue in a high frequency driving technology for large sized TFT-LCD panel.. Since copper has a low adhesion force against the glass substrate, copper is inevitably used with an aid of an adhesive metal layer such as Ti, Ta and Mo. When dissimilar metals like copper and molybdenum are exposed together in a wet etchant,, a typical galvanic reaction occurs and this results in an undercutting of copper line or partial stains on the metal surface after drying. The suitable taper angle of Cu line is difficult to obtain especially coupled with pure molybdenum.. Such failures often lead to a bad performance of thin film transistor and the display quality. There are many literatures related to the copper metallization for TFT. However, a systematic approach on the galvanic reaction occurred in copper multilayered system has not been made. The development of IT has changed not only computer techniques, but also human life and the environment. It provides us with more and more chances to interact with computers. While we feel much unease while communicating with computers, from device-centered automatic solutions, human emotion are considered as an intelligent solution has been investigated continuously. Skillfully dealing with emotions is important in realizing more natural communication between computers and human being. According to this idea, the importance of emotional technology has been raised. For investigating human emotion accurately, however a technique that is able to recognize data comprehensively, including various and complex user context data, the condition of the user space, and changes to this space, are in demand. Additionally, research on sensors which recognize various environments and studies of reasoning algorithms are necessary. In particular, research related to standard platforms and storage techniques for the recognition, reasoning, expression, and similar areas are necessary for extracting different personal attributes of variables such as gender, age, birth area, and race. This paper presents a novel load variation compensation algorithm in a sensor-less BLDC motor drive for a reciprocating compressor. Periodic load variation of a reciprocating compressor leads to commutation position error and instantaneous speed variation and causes large peak currents. The major concept of this study includes tracking the pattern of load torque and controlling the motor input voltage by the commutation point and PWM depending on the tracked load torque. The suggested method can reduce the cost because this method does not require additional current sensing or voltage comparison circuit. The utility of the suggested algorithm was confirmed by simulation and experimental results of a sensor-less BLDC motor drive.

This paper presents a rounding method for functional iteration algorithms. The new method is made up of a new rounding algorithm and the calculation of a remainder estimation. The rounding method uses the result directly obtained from the algorithm without any transformation. The remainder estimation is calculated in parallel with the algorithm execution. This allow us to avoid the conventional remainder calculation after obtaining result, most of the times. In this way, the final implementation has a variable latency. By using adequate configurations the remainder calculation is only necessary in 9% of the total cases.
