By a spread of utilizing environment of the CNG library, it is required to analyze its vulnerability. For this reason, in this paper, we analyzed potential security vulnerability of CNG. To prove the found vulnerability, we implemented a proof of-concept tool based on the details of the vulnerability and proposed a countermeasure. This study is expected to improve security criteria for various applications to fully take advantage of the CNG library.

Conversion efficiency degrades in case of heavy-to-light loading change since state-of-art overshoot reduction techniques simply dissipate redundant energy at the output of buck DC-DC converter. Thus, the proposed dual-mode ripple-recovered compensator (D-RRC) and multi-phase suppressing output overshoot voltage (MP-SOOV) technique uses 33nH bondwire inductance to recycle energy and provides 47.1mW/μs ultra-fast power-recycling rate to suppress overshoot voltage from 507mV to 95mV with 81.3% improvement when load changes from 1.7A to 0.3A. Experimental results show 93% high efficiency and highspeed operation with only tens of nano second on-time period.

These services do not only add value and new functionalities to their applications but also create a network of users and services that interconnect them to a wider on-line ecosystem. Currently these social networks mainly use the vast amount of user-created content, and activity logs to apply to provide recommendations and more complex services. This paper presents the Social Core a social network engine that implements semantic-based functionalities like semantic annotations, semantic search semantic-enhanced access control and user privacy protection. The Social Core was integrated as part of the SmartCampus mobile platform, which was tested by around one hundred students, and it is currently being further developed as part of European FP7 project SmartSociety.

The analysis and recognition of fault status in the Smart Grid field is a challenging problem. Computational Intelligence techniques have already been shown to be a successful framework to face complex problems related to a Smart Grid. The availability of huge amounts of data coming from smart sensors allows the system to take a fine grained picture of the power grid status. This data can be processed in order to offer an instrument in aiding humans operators to better understand the power grid status and to take decisions on grid operations. This paper addresses the problem of fault recognitions in a real-world power grid (i. e. the power grid that feds the city of Rome, Italy) with the One-Class Classification paradigm by a combined approach of dissimilarity measure learning by means of an evolution strategy and clustering techniques for modeling the decision regions between fault status and the standard functioning of the power system. In this paper we present an in-dept. study of the performance of two clustering algorithms in building up the model of faults, as the core procedure of the proposed recognition system.

This paper addresses the fundamental problem of improving the Luenberger Observer (LO)-based feedback control so that it can deal with effectively a wide range of uncertainties, both internal and external. It is shown that the effect of such uncertainties can be estimated and cancelled in real time, all based on the yet untapped source of information: the estimation error in the existing LO. The result is quite significant in that, by augmenting the LO without changing its original structure or parameters, the LO-based design can be improved in terms of robustness and disturbance rejection. In other words, there is hidden information of uncertainties in the LO tracking error and it can be extracted, often with a mere integrator, to great benefits, as shown in both mathematical analysis and simulation studies.

An Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme is expected as an efficient technique for next generation wireless communications. However, high Peak to Average Power Ration (PAPR) of OFDM system is the main drawback which degrades the transmitter power efficiency causes poor performance of the system. To reduce PAPR of OFDM signal, several works on clipping technique have been proposed. This paper is incorporated the improvement of the PAPR and Bit Error Rate (BER) performance using clipping method. It has been shown from the result that by employing the recursive clipping and filtering, 11.45 dB of PAPR of original OFDM signal is reduced down to 4.77 dB. Hence, BER is also increased significantly. This research is carried out through MATLAB simulation and gradually measured the effect of PAPR on BER under AWGN channel for 16QAM scheme with 256 points OFDM. Moreover, it is studied the effect of OFDM signal while passing through High Power Amplifier (HPA). Finally, the PAPR reduction technique such as recursive clipping and filtering (RCF) is implemented.
