A novel fault integration method is proposed in this paper for manufacturing system models given in the form of timed colored Petri nets. The faults are assumed to have a stochastic nature and are represented in the form of transitions firing in stochastic way with known fault probabilities in the system model. A novel fault effect propagation method was also developed, that can be used to compute the probabilities of the possible faulty and non-faulty intermediate and final states of the system using the probabilities of faults and the occurrence graph. The faultless and fault containing models were implemented in CPNTools both for non-timed and timed cases. A software module was also developed for the proposed probabilistic fault propagation analysis. The proposed methods and tools were demonstrated using a simple case study.

Throughout the last decade, overlay multicast is a hot issue for media distribution services. High bandwidth consumption and multi-source multicasting in widely distributed networks is a critical issue for a wide range of applications including video conferencing, multi-party games, content distribution etc. A number of research projects have explored to use multicast as an efficient and scalable mechanism to deal with group oriented communications. However, there are still some limitations, such as long latency, duplicated packet transmission at certain points and lack of network equipment functionality support. With the appearance of Software Defined Networking, represented by OpenFlow devices, network control and management becomes possible to remote administrators. With the support of OpenFlow, it is possible to do some optimizations of existing media distribution mechanisms in overlay networks. In this paper, we proposed a novel method to improve the traditional overlay multicast relay networks with available limited number of OpenFlow devices, to cut down the bandwidth expenditures and perform a good control and management of media distribution services.

Content-based image retrieval (CBIR), also known as query by image content is one of the applications of computer vision. In CBIR, the contents derived from the image like color, shapes, and textures are analyzed rather than the metadata such as keywords, tags, and/or descriptions associated with the image. In this paper, the texture features of the image are modelled using Generalized Gaussian Distribution (GGD) and Ripplet Transform. Ripplet transform has the capability of capturing structural information along with the curves compared to the traditional discrete wavelet transform. The similarity between query image and the training database is found using Kullback-Leibler Distance between GGDs. The proposed system provides greater accuracy and flexibility in capturing texture information. Experimental results on a large image database demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed CBIR system in the image retrieval paradigm.

Since the ubiquitous computing was proposed and developed for many years and the matured develop of location based research, personal user information and e-travel, our research provides a personal and useful tour guide mechanism and adaptive learning content when user traveling in anywhere they interesting. This research hopes user not only have fun during tour but also provides several knowledge they may interests about the tour places. This research extends former experiences on the development of location based research, and integrate the Petri Net methods to produce the task based procedure during the travel for user, we called it MOPN (Mission oriented Petri-Net)Besides, this research also proposes a user portfolio synchronize mechanism to provide user more adaptive and personal content based on former user background and using experience. With the results of this research, most user indicated that they have more fun with proposed system during the travel and also got lots of useful knowledge from the mission.

In transmission media the Photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) are highly suitable for wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) systems. This paper exhibit a Hexagonal Photonic Crystal Fiber (H-PCF) that mention simultaneously high birefringence, large nonlinearity and high negative dispersion. The proposed H-PCFs shows a large negative dispersion coefficient of about -188 to -435 ps/(***) over E and U-bands along with relative dispersion slope (RDS) perfectly matched to that of single mode fiber of about 0.0036 nm -1 . Besides according to simulation, the birefringence of the desired designed is 1.27×10 -2 with the large nonlinear coefficient is 51.54W -1 Km -1 at the operating wavelength of 1550 nm.

This paper proposes a method to identify the spatial distribution patterns of cone cells related with blood vessel in a given retina image. We define three types of the distribution patterns between cones and vessels. Positive correlation distribution (PCD) and negative correlation distribution (NCD) indicate that the cones tend to be close to or far from the vessels. While the cone cells do not have significant correlation with vessels, the cone distribution is regarded as the random distribution (RD). In our method, RD is modeled by many virtual retina images, each of which is generated by the vessels extracted from the original retina image and the virtual cells are selected randomly from the image. Using the virtual images, we estimate the distribution range of RD. When the distribution of the original cells is above the upper limit or below the lower limit of the RD distribution, the cell distribution is NCD or PCD. Otherwise, the cell distribution is regarded as RD.

We introduce an improved intelligent water drops (IIWD) algorithm as a new swarm-based nature inspired algorithm to solve capacitated vehicle routing problem. IIWD algorithm introduces new adjustments and features that help to optimize the VRP problem with higher efficiency. We reinforce this algorithm to have satisfactory consequences in controlling the balance between diversification and intensification of the search process. We solve 14 well-known benchmark instances in the literature to compare the solutions with the best reported solutions in the literature. Experimental results demonstrate that the suggested technique can well and effectively cope with such problems.

Human computer Interaction is becoming a major component in computerscience related fields allowing humans to communicate with machines in very simple ways exploring new dimensions of research. Kinect, the 3D sensing device introduced by Microsoft which allows developers to use dept. data for research. Recently, there are several mature libraries such as NITE and Kinect SDK which provide functions of Human skeleton tracking. Therefore, users may find that these applications only work with big joints of human body. When it comes to the tracking of fingers, devices such as Leap Motion will be mentioned because it provides APIs and games, which users can communicate with the computer by their fingers. Although Leap Motion Provides functions of finger tracking, the operating distance is short and users need to sit in a fixed position. Here, in this paper, authors' experimental efforts on detailed hand tracking including fingers based on Microsoft Kinect. Analyzing the dept.information captured by Kinect in real time, users can apply the result in different scopes such as device controller and Virtual Instruments.
