Empirical Validation of Fuzzy Logic Based Predictive Load Scheduling in Mimic Home Energy Management System

Load scheduling plays a vital role in the home energy management systems. The main objective of this load scheduling is to balance the power demand and supply power without degrading the performance of the loads and consumers tolerance. Though many research works concentrate on load scheduling, very few works concentrated on real time scenario. On the other hand, research work concentrated on optimal load scheduling through fuzzy logic requires incorporation of fuzzy based system in either simulated or real-time home energy management system. Hence, the proposal aims to schedule the loads in a simulated home energy management system through fuzzy logic controller using MATLAB Simscape with required subsystems. The proposed simulated environment considers four different resistive loads. Intelligent scheduling is aimed to achieve efficient load scheduling. A fuzzy controller has three inputs namely integrated source, state of charge of battery, and power demand whereas probability of scheduling is considered as output. The efficiency of the proposed fuzzy-based load scheduling scheme is evaluated under various load conditions for different sub-systems with varying input power. As the world advances in technology, the classification of eye diseases is thought to have clinical applications since it evaluates and analyzes the results. Optometrists research and diagnose age-related eye problems such as Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), and Drusen using optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the human eye. Because their symptoms are similar, identifying these diseases is challenging and requires hours of expert analysis. The requirements for eye illness classification should be straightforward in nature, structure, and evaluation. Deep Learning Convolutional Neural Network Classification can create a hierarchical representation of images to differentiate between normal and diseased eye patterns for diagnostic purposes. Therefore, this paper aims to implement and define deep learning to classify and identify eye diseases. Using a four-class classification problem, this work investigates the automatic detection of Choroidal Neovascularization (CNV), Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), Drusen, and Normal in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) pictures. Multi-transfer learning architecture was used in the suggested deep learning Ensemble classification model. The most incredible accuracy of our proposed Ensemble model for multi- class classification was 83%. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to diverse software vulnerabilities and hardware attacks, user credentials are vulnerable or could land in demilitarized zones. An attempt is made to explore and finally proposed a trust based malware detection based on optimal data classification. An improved glowworm swarm optimization (IGWSO) algorithm is proposed for clustering in the input dataset into different groups. After clustering, recurrent deep neural network based computation is used for deriving different trust levels for cloud information that classify the suspected intrusion. The proposed TMD system implemented in java with cloudsim tool evidently discovers the effectiveness of the algorithm over existing state of art systems on the parameters of high detection, precision, recall and F-measures. © 2023 IEEE.

This work presents the AgrBot, an agricultural robot designed to intelligently estimate and predict crop pest and disease severity (PDS). The AgrBot incorporates two binarized neural network (BNN) hardware modules for recognizing target crops and estimating their PDS. In a resource-constrained FPGA-based design, these BNN hardware modules can be configured on-demand, showcasing system adaptivity. Furthermore, a multimodal model that integrates crop images, sensor data, and time features is presented for predicting PDS. Employing edge artificial intelligence (AI) through the BNN hardware modules and the multimodal model enables the AgrBot to determine if biological agents are applied to protect crops from pests and diseases, creating a comprehensive agricultural cyber-physical system (CPS). Experimental results demonstrate accuracies of 76.3% for recognizing target crops, 65.3% for estimating PDS, and 67% for predicting PDS. In comparison to existing microprocessor-based design methods, the AgrBot's BNN hardware modules improve frames per second (FPS) by a factor of 790, while the multimodal model reduces processing time by up to 50.9%. © 2025 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). In the era of rapid advancements in technology, the efficient digitization of paper-based documents remains a crucial challenge across various domains. The traditional approach to document scanning often struggles with accurate extraction of critical information from unstructured or diverse document formats. This paper presents the development of a web-based document scanner application that leverages Named Entity Recognition (NER) to extract entities from scanned business cards efficiently. The study aims to address the challenge of digitizing and organizing physical documents, with a focus on precise entity extraction. The methodology involves creating a custom dataset of scanned business cards, preprocessing the data, and training an NER model using machine learning techniques. The application is built using the Flask framework and integrates OpenCV for text extraction and SpaCy for NER. The key findings include the model's high F1 score in identifying entities such as names, organizations, designations, emails, and contact details. The application streamlines document digitization by automatically extracting and tagging relevant metadata, minimizing the need for manual data entry. This research contributes to enhancing document management and demonstrates broader applicability for other document types apart from business cards. The implications highlight improvements in workflow automation, data accuracy, and the potential for integrating with larger document management systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The smart city is a concept with AI-enabled applications introduced to mitigate challenges in modern urban areas. At the same time, many cameras are being installed inside the city for a wide range of applications. But AI applications face a significant challenge in ensuring data quality as the system scale rapidly grows. With the scale of the smart city today, communication models like the broker-based model and the brokerless communication model both have their own *** paper introduces a reconfigurable architecture to overcome the limitations of each model. Our goal is to provide better video data quality while one or both of the communication models meet their bandwidth limitations. The applications simply need to request the desired video data, then the proposed architecture will predict the optimal one of two communication models at runtime and deliver the data with it. The proposed architecture has a quality detector for predicting service quality and a reconfigurable method for switching communication models. We tested the proposed architecture by comparing it with the case that only adapts the broker-based model. The result indicates that the proposed architecture can provide better quality of video data at peak hours. And during the experiment, we also confirm the positive side effect that the proposed architecture can bring improvement to other traffic. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents an approach to implementing a cloud-based smart home monitoring system using the ESP32 microcontroller and ThingSpeak as the cloud platform. The proposed system provides an efficient solution for real-time monitoring of various environmental parameters, which are collected through sensors connected to the ESP32 and transmitted wirelessly to the ThingSpeak cloud. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), this system enables users to remotely monitor their home environment from anywhere using a web interface. Autonomous cars are already the driving force behind achieving the goal of intelligent mobility in smart cities. However, providing internet access for automobiles introduces additional risks of distributing false information. By broadcasting fake sharing data, an attack vehicle has the potential to mislead surrounding cars and trigger catastrophic accidents. This work introduces a novel incremental learning model for misbehavior detection in vehicular communications. Unlike previous methods which mostly relied on the pre-trained model, in this work, we develop accumulative learning capability for the misbehavior detection engines at vehicles or distributed roadside units. The model can assist in obtaining new knowledge from continuous learning. The simulation results indicate that the proposed model outperforms the state-of-the-art studies by up to 12% in terms of detection accuracy and 45% faster in continuous processing, particularly in the single detector mode. © 2024 IEEE.

Stress is one of the prevailing issues in today's world, deeply impacting the actual well-being of individuals. In this paper, we introduce an innovative method to detect stress that deviates from the mainstream approaches, which rely solely on physiologic signals and self-reporting. Our non-invasive, efficient, and scalable real-time system, built on the facial image data processed by CNNs, makes real-time human stress detection possible. The system captures facial expressions through video or static images, which it then processes within a CNN model to identify stress-related features. CNNs are particularly innovative in that they are adept.at automatically extracting and learning hierarchical features from extremely complex, unstructured data like facial images. Facial expression datasets were used to train and test the proposed model in different stress conditions. The model achieved a very good accuracy level in differentiating stressed from non-stressed states, thus putting it on par with professionals. Real-time testing of the system's performance was done on edge devices such as smartphones to prove its potential for use in real-life applications related to mobile health. As facial image data is utilised by the system, thereby killing the need for wearable sensors or invasive physiological monitoring, the approach would be more accessible for detecting stress levels. This research showed that CNN models developed based on facial images can transform stress monitoring. Its implications are wide, applicable in health care, workplace settings, and even self-manageable personal stress. In future work, the model should be generalised for diverse populations, the system's real-time capabilities enhanced, and multimodal data further integrated to increase detection accuracy and reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) is a debilitating chronic pain disorder that significantly diminishes overall well-being, making diagnosis and therapy more challenging. The quick and precise categorization of TN severity is critical to therapy effectiveness. To assess the severity of TN, this study makes use of advanced machine learning techniques and explainable AI (XAI) approaches. We use a range of bagging and boosting strategies, including AdaBoost, Random Forest, Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbours (KNN), Gradient Boosting, and Logistic Regression. Random Forest was 95.2% accurate, whereas AdaBoost and Gradient Boosting were 92% and 97.2% in terms of their accuracy. The Decision Tree classifier obtained an accuracy of 84.62%, while K-Nearest Neighbours and Logistic Regression also achieved 92.31% accuracy. F1- score, precision, and recall metrics were used to assess performance on a dataset that included patient demographics and medical histories. XAI techniques, such as LIME and SHAP values, were used to improve the models' readability and transparency, which helped to progress the creation of cutting-edge diagnostic tools and increase clinician and researcher confidence. © 2024 IEEE.
