The current capabilities of deepfake and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies make it difficult to distinguish what is original from what is fabricated. Electronic documents can be digitally signed to verify and authenticate their information, making them admissible as evidence in court. In contrast, images and videos from Internet of Things (IoT) devices-such as police body cameras, security cameras, and smartphones are susceptible to deepfake manipulation, which can undermine their authenticity in legal proceedings. This research hypothesizes that digitally signing image and video data utilizing hardware cryptographic coprocessors could render them admissible in court. Utilizing our processes will also identify if any manipulation of the image data has occurred. Our approach addresses a critical need in the justice system to combat the challenges deepfakes pose and could pave the way for enhanced trust in digital evidence, bolstering the integrity of the judicial process.

Using symptoms as a basis for diagnosing lung cancer, Lung cancer detection was accomplished using several different machine-learning regression strategies. By comparing the efficacy of several regression algorithms for predicting lung cancer, considering factors including age, gender, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, alcohol intake, chronic illness, trouble swallowing, anxiety, and peer pressure. Lung cancer predictions and evaluations are made using regression methods such as the linear algorithm, polynomial regression, logistic regression, logarithmic regression, and multiple regression. With a predictive accuracy of 96%, multiple regression is superior to other regression techniques when identifying future lung cancer cases. The r-squared value, which can be calculated using several regression machine learning approaches, may also be used to evaluate the association between the various symptoms and lung cancer. Lung cancer is diagnosed using the r-squared value, which is calculated using several algorithms and takes into symptoms, including chronic illness. © 2023 IEEE.

The management of food supply chains relates to just about the most imperative issues concerning sustainability, quality, and traceability, where existing methodologies usually fail to meet the demands caused by data privacy, lack of transparency, and inefficiencies concerning collaboration among stakeholders. This compromises data security, and thus there arises single points of failure. Conversely, traditional traceability frameworks fail to incite wide-scale participation and lack real-time accuracy. Having these limitations in mind, we introduce a hybrid framework consisting of three advanced methodologies: Decentralized Federated Learning with Blockchain Anchoring (DFLBA), Dynamic Tokenized Traceability Framework (DTTF), and Adaptive Supply Chain Graph Neural Networks (ASCGNN) process. DFLBA would support privacy-preserving machine learning as such that collaborative training of yield prediction and crop monitoring models by stakeholders without revealing raw data will be feasible. Blockchain anchoring ensures logs of training updates are tamper-proof, thus increasing trust and transparency. DTTF introduces tokenized incentives that enhance traceability in real-time: every product has a digital twin represented by blockchain-anchored tokens updated by stakeholders. Smart contracts enforce the compliance that will improve participation and lifecycle data accuracy. ASCGNN models the food supply chain as a dynamic graph, leveraging graph neural networks to capture stakeholder interdependencies, optimize operations, and detect fraud. Blockchain integration ensures reliability and transparency by securing edge weights. The suggested framework has demonstrated good impact, like 95% model accuracy for yield prediction, 99% traceability coverage, and 92% prediction accuracy for bottlenecks of the supply chain. There is still a serious problem with credit card fraud in the world of financial transactions, requiring innovative solutions to effectively detect and halt illicit behavior. This research presents a unique method of detecting credit card fraud by strategically implementing early pausing in a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network. Leveraging the sequential dependencies inherent in transaction data, the LSTM model demonstrates remarkable efficacy in discerning fraudulent from legitimate transactions. The early stopping mechanism ensures that the model’s training halts at the optimal epoch, preventing over fitting and enhancing generalization. Our thorough analysis highlights the model’s versatility by demonstrating a dynamic compromise between recall and accuracy throughout training. Practical implications include enhanced fraud detection accuracy, reduced false alarms, and real-time decision support for financial institutions. The model’s adaptability and generalization make it a valuable asset in the ongoing battle against credit card fraud, contributing to a more secure financial environment. Future research directions may explore additional features and alternative architectures to further advance fraud detection capabilities.

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) refers to the use of interconnected smart devices, sensors, and other technologies to create a network of intelligent systems.that can monitor and manage industrial processes. 6TiSCH (IPv6 over the Time Slotted Channel Hopping mode of IEEE 802.15.4e) as an enabling technology facilitates low-power and low-latency communication between IoT devices in industrial environments. The Routing Protocol for Low power and lossy networks (RPL), which is used as the de-facto routing protocol for 6TiSCH networks is observed to suffer from several limitations, especially during congestion in the network. Therefore, there is an immediate need for some modifications to the RPL to deal with this problem. Under traffic load which keeps on changing continuously at different instants of time, the proposed mechanism aims at finding the appropriate parent for a node that can forward the packet to the destination through the least congested path with minimal packet loss. This facilitates congestion management under dynamic traffic loads. For this, a new metric for routing using the concept of exponential weighting has been proposed, which takes the number of packets present in the queue of the node into account when choosing the parent at a particular instance of time. Additionally, the paper proposes a parent selection and swapping mechanism for congested networks. Performance evaluations are carried out in order to validate the proposed work. The results show an improvement in the performance of RPL under heavy and dynamic traffic loads.

The industrial sector has entered a phase of profound change which sees digital technologies being integrated into the heart of industrial processes. This fourth industrial era gives birth to a new generation of factory called “Digital Factory”, “Industry 4.0”. This industrial change is the result of the integration of new digital technologies into manufacturing processes and the optimization of energy consumption. The commitment to the environment is also a key and success factor of Industry 4.0 and green in particular the reduction of carbon emissions and pollution. This is how smart green industry try to take in charge the problem of energy consumption and to reduce the Co2 pollution. The goal of this paper is to present the new model of smart green industry using distributed artificial intelligence based on multi-agent system (MAS). The motivation to use the intelligent approach based on MAS is based on the similarity between the fundamental concepts of the cyber-physical system and those contained in the architecture and operation of MAS such as communication, coordination, decision and cooperation.

Heart failure (HF) is a complex syndrome that is affected by many factors and causes. It is crucial to early recognize the disease subtypes and the unidentified clinical pathways that give rise to it. Machine learning (ML) is the tool that assist to deal with these challenges and improve the prediction of HF. In this work, the HF risk prediction was implemented by employed ML classifiers, such as Random Forest (RF), Extreme Grading Boosting (XGBoost) and Light Gradient-Boosting Machine (LGBM). We utilized the data from the German epidemiological trial on ankle brachial index - getABI cohort, which includes 6,454 patients. The performance of classifiers was estimated by Accuracy (ACC), Sensitivity, Specificity and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) in mean values for each ML classifier. The results were also interpreted using the Explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) approach, the Shapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) values. Our work reveals that LGBM classifier predict the HF risk within 5 years follow-up in general population with 68 % accuracy. Moreover, the N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) was identified as the most important feature for HF risk prediction. © 2024 IEEE.

Additive manufacturing technologies are positioned to provide an unprecedented inno-vative transformation in how products are designed and manufactured. Due to differences in the technical specifications of AM technologies, the final fabricated parts can vary sig-nificantly from the original CAD models, therefore raising issues regarding accuracy, surface finish, robustness, mechanical properties, functional and geometrical constraints. Various researchers have studied the correlation between AM technologies and design rules. In this work we propose a novel approach to assessing the capability of a 3D model to be printed successfully (a.k.a printability ) on a specific AM machine. This is utilized by taking into consideration the model mesh complexity and certain part characteristics. A printability score is derived for a model in reference to a specific 3D printing technology, expressing the probability of obtaining a robust and accurate end result for 3D printing on a specific AM machine. The printability score can be used either to determine which 3D technology is more suitable for manufacturing a specific model or as a guide to redesign the model to ensure printability. We verify this framework by conducting 3D printing experiments for benchmark models which are printed on three AM machines employing different technologies: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), Binder Jetting (3DP), and Material Jetting (Polyjet). © 2021 CAD Solutions, LLC.

As the Internet of Things (IoT) is poised to become a global phenomenon, it is imperative to schedule the transmissions of IoT devices effectively and in a fair way. Leveraging Long Range (LoRa) technology, we can achieve transmissions that consume minimal power while covering vast distances, aligning with the requirements of IoT devices. However, the proximity of multiple devices within the same area often leads to packet interference and collisions. To address this, our study introduces a pioneering scheduling method utilizing a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to manage and streamline the transmission of data from End Devices (EDs). This method employs two LEO satellites: the first satellite assigns the sequence for EDs to dispatch their packets, and the second collects these packets in the predetermined sequence before forwarding them to the LoRa Network Server (LNS). For urgent (URG) communications, EDs can alert the first satellite, which then coordinates with the LNS to schedule these priority transmissions. The LNS generates a schedule that is relayed to the second satellite, informing EDs with URG packets of their specific transmission times and channels. This scheduling approach is designed to optimize channel usage effectively while accommodating the transmission of urgent data.

Parallel to the evolution of recent trends in the cybersecurity industry and the increase of cyberattacks in the last few years, there is renovated interest on the application of software-defined techniques to enforce best security practices, such as in the Software-Defined Perimeter specification and the Zero Trust architectures. This work proposes a software-defined network segmentation and access control framework aligned with these principles. This solution captures minimal security requirements from testbed operators to establish ad-hoc, isolated connectivity and access control for end-users (experimenters) interacting with exposed endpoints from the exposed services in the cloud testbeds. The elicited architecture, design decision and initial implementation are introduced. © 2024 IEEE.
