In recent years, the utilization of location-based augmented reality (LAR) has gained popularity across various domains, including tourism, education, gaming, and advertising. The advancements in AR technology have made it easier to develop immersive LAR applications. ARCore, a widely adopted AR development library, enables the creation of location-based AR apps on Android devices. However, the implementation of ARCore in real-Time scenarios that demand significant computational resources, like outdoor pedestrian navigation, can vary depending on the chosen development environment. This research aims to explore and compare the running load performance of ARCore implementation in location-based AR applications developed with Unity and Android Native, which are two prevalent AR development platforms. The study involves building a prototype LAR application using both Unity and native Android, followed by comprehensive running load performance evaluations. The findings reveal that while both Unity and native Android apps can deliver compelling location-based AR experiences, native Android apps demonstrate superior performance and resource efficiency in outdoor scenarios, whereas Unity offers the advantage of multi-platform support and ease of development for complex 3D assets. These insights provide valuable guidance to developers in selecting the most suitable approach for developing location-based AR applications for navigation, aligning with their specific needs and requirements. © 2023 IEEE.

Access to well-curated large datasets remains a significant bottleneck in AI-based research within wireless communication. Rapid advancements in neighbouring fields, such as computer vision and natural language processing, are largely due to the availability of extensive open-access datasets. However, similar progress has not been observed in wireless communication. To address this gap, we curated a comprehensive dataset for fifteen digital modulation schemes, including 4QAM, 16QAM, 64QAM, 256QAM, 8PSK, 16PSK, 32PSK, 64PSK, 128PSK, 256PSK, CPFSK, DBPSK, DQPSK, GFSK, and GMSK. Our dataset considers Rayleigh and Rician channel models under Additive White Gaussian Noise (A WGN) with SNRs ranging from -20dB to + 20dB in 5dB increments. The data samples were converted to constellation signal images and carefully pre-processed. Named RadioModRec, this dataset provides a valuable resource for researchers to train and evaluate AI models. It is freely accessible on Kaggle, promoting further innovation in the wireless communication domain. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper evaluates the usability of the FGPE PLE, an open-source gamified programming learning environment, using the System Usability Scale (SUS) and the Usability Metric for User Experience (UMUX) questionnaires. The 25 postgraduate students participated in the assessment. The results show an overall SUS score of 79.1, placing FGPE PLE in the "Good" to "Excellent" range of usability. The UMUX score of 74.25 similarly indicates high usability, confirming the platform’s ease of use and integration of functions. The results are discussed in the context of prior assessments and comparative platforms, providing insights into the continued development of highly usable educational software. © 2024 ISECON. Based on one of the fundamental principles of the educational model of the European Higher Education Area concerning the development of the capacity to achieve lifelong learning, this project has been developed in which a set of active teaching activities have been implemented for the acquisition of key competences in the challenge of achieving one of the most important goals that any educational system must provide: lifelong learning, thereby facilitating the incorporation of new university graduates into the world of work. This project has been implemented on the subject of Power Electronics. However, to facilitate the transfer to other subjects, the catalogue of active teaching activities is sufficiently varied to make it easy to extrapolate and use in other subjects, thanks to the fact that teachers have a wide variety of activities to choose from the set. Finally, a survey has been drawn to evaluate this new active methodology's satisfaction, impact and improvement to know the students' perspectives once they have worked with this catalogue of activities. © 2022 IEEE.

The article is devoted to the development of a web-oriented geoinformation system intended for literary mapping. Interest in literary mapping has recently increased, as this method of exploring the space in which characters operate not only provides a key to understanding the author's intent, but also allows the reader to take a new look at the artistic text. With the help of mapping, the reader can see how the space created in the artwork is superimposed on the prototype place, trace the routes of characters, and highlight spatial objects that are important for the development of the action. In addition, mapping can serve the purpose of creating an image of a territory through its associated territories. The methods of text vectorization and corpora linguistics are used for analyzing artistic texts. Machine learning methods such as the "transformers"neural network and production knowledge bases are used to extract structural elements of a text and group texts by various attributes. The tool is in the prototype state and is planned to be placed in the public domain. © 2020 IEEE.

We introduce a goal-aware extension of responsibility-sensitive safety (RSS), a recent methodology for rule-based safety guarantee for automated driving systems (ADS). Making RSS rules guarantee goal achievement—in addition to collision avoidance as in the original RSS—requires complex planning over long sequences of manoeuvres. To deal with the complexity, we introduce a compositional reasoning framework based on program logic, in which one can systematically develop RSS rules for smaller subscenarios and combine them to obtain RSS rules for bigger scenarios. As the basis of the framework, we introduce a program logic dFHL that accommodates continuous dynamics and safety conditions. Our framework presents a dFHL-based workflow for deriving goal-aware RSS rules; we discuss its software support, too. We conducted experimental evaluation using RSS rules in a safety architecture. Its results show that goal-aware RSS is indeed effective in realising both collision avoidance and goal achievement.

Succulent plant image categorization suffers from subjectivity and limited number of available images, and these difficulties are intensified by the apparent lack of field surveys. In this study, we present a new approach to classify succulents using consumer-grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and deep learning. We applied various super-resolution algorithms with different image enhancement design strategies. In addition, we develop a new object detection model based on MambaIR and YOLOv10, achieving a mean average precision (mAP) of 0.851, outperforming other state-of-the-art object detection algorithms. The application of UAV s and super-resolution technology greatly facilitates the detection of succulents and provides a practical solution for precision crop monitoring.

Some questions of creating the intellectual system «CONTROL-TEA» concept was considered. The issues of creating organizational support for the situational center of intellectual system «CONTROL-TEA» are reviewed. The structure of the information storage was developed. There is a need for their certification and registration in city services. In order to combine them into a single system, the smart city will be the task manager, and the DAVs will be their executor, it is proposed to organize regional situational centers that will coordinate the work. The regional situation center provides two-way communication between customers (public, municipal, private) and its contractors (UAVs), monitors traffic, provides a variety of operations and, along with the IOT, serves as a data provider. © 2021 IEEE.
