It is well known that the term vagueness is spread in all aspects of our lives, this manuscript will clarify the meaning of independence (strict meaning of independence, the illusory meaning of independence, Oscillating between the true meaning of independence, and the fallacy of claiming independence and not applying it), this triplet actually refers to the three components that the Neutrosophic theory standing on which is (truthiness, falsity, indeterminacy), the strategy of applying the notion of independency in the local institutions, enlighten on the allegation of applying the independency notion in some governments’ institutions without a real impact of this term, and studying the meaning of independence from the perspective of a country legal system, all these issues and some comparisons in applying the term (independency) between some countries such as Iraq, France, Algeria, USA, etc. have been enclosed in this article. © 2025, University of New Mexico. The recent availability of consumer head-mounted displays (HMDs) for virtual reality (VR) provides an immersive and affordable platform to study sound perception and action outside laboratory settings. While traditional perception-action studies rely on complex systems like motion capture, HMDs integrate dynamic sound delivery and real-time movement tracking. In this study, we adapted the experimental protocol from Geronazzo et al. (2023) to test the feasibility of measuring user behaviour with a consumer-grade HMD. Instead of muscular activity measured from surface electromyography, we analysed reaction times using kinematic data from the HMD’s onboard sensors and controllers. Data from ten participants showed that spatial properties of looming sounds influence auditory perception-action loops, aligning with findings from the original study. Our results demonstrate that reaction time is a scalable and meaningful measure for studying space perception through sound, providing a possible alternative to muscular activity measurements and showcasing the potential of consumer-grade VR for accessible and robust experimental research despite current limitations.

The next-generation mm/sub-mm/far-IR astronomy will in part be enabled by advanced digital signal processing (DSP) techniques. The Prime-Cam instrument of the Fred Young Submillimeter Telescope (FYST), featuring the largest array of submillimeter detectors to date, utilizes a novel overlap-channel polyphase synthesis filter bank (OC-PSB) for the AC biasing of detectors, implemented on a cutting-edge Xilinx Radio Frequency System on Chip (RFSoC). This design departs from traditional waveform look-up-table(LUT) in memory, allowing real-time, dynamic signal generation, enhancing usable bandwidth and dynamic range, and enabling microwave kinetic inductance detector (MKID) tracking for future readout systems. Results show that the OC-PSB upholds critical performance metrics such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) while offering additional benefits such as scalability. This paper will discuss DSP design, RFSoC implementation, and laboratory performance, demonstrating OC-PSB’s potential in submillimeter-wave astronomy MKID readout systems. We present a geometric model of the differential sensitivity of the fidelity error for state transfer in a spintronic network based on the relationship between a set of matrix operators. We show an explicit dependence of the differential sensitivity on the fidelity (error), and we further demonstrate that this dependence does not require a trade-off between the fidelity and sensitivity. Rather, we prove that for closed systems, ideal performance in the sense of perfect state transfer is both necessary and sufficient for optimal robustness in terms of vanishing sensitivity. We demonstrate the utility of this geometric interpretation of the sensitivity by applying the model to explain the sensitivity versus fidelity error data in two examples. Stochastic simulations require large amounts of time to generate enough trajectories to attain statistical significance and estimate desired performance indices with satisfactory accuracy. They require search spaces with deep uncertainty arising from inadequate or incomplete information about the system and the outcomes of interest. Paratemporal methods efficiently explore these large search spaces and offer an avenue for speedup when executed in parallel. However, combinatorial explosion of branching arising from multiple choice points presents a major hurdle that must be overcome to implement such techniques. In this advanced tutorial we show how to tackle this scalability problem by applying a systems theory-based framework covering both conventional and newly developed paratemporal tree expansion algorithms for speeding up discrete event system stochastic simulations while preserving the desired accuracy.

Global mobility is undergoing a dramatic change as cars fuelled by fossil fuels give way to those with zero or extremely low tailpipe emissions. Every one of the parts in big battery packs normally don't have similar properties and may corrupt essentially in view of assembling fluctuation and different elements. The performance and economics of the entire battery pack are impacted by the increased power waste from degraded battery modules. Additionally, the influence changes depending on the trip pattern. A variety of important factors, such as the age of the car, the internal resistance of the lithium-ion battery pack, awareness of grid energy pricing, and the distance driven, affect how much an electric vehicle (EV) costs to drive every day. It has used the grid's energy price data to optimise the cost of the typical driving cycle. Accurately forecasting battery behaviour reliability for the daily driving cycle is the aim of this project. The driver will be able to determine the best charging schedules, driving energy consumption, and excess battery energy with the aid of the reliability battery behaviour forecast. The driver can reduce the cost of travel both daily and over the battery's lifespan by having a previous understanding of the battery's behaviour, the grid's energy pricing, and the trip's duration. © 2025 IEEE.

Random (mixed) unitary channels describe an important subset of quantum channels, which are commonly used in quantum information, noise modeling, and quantum error mitigation. Despite their usefulness, there is substantial complexity in characterizing or identifying generic random unitary channels. We present a procedure for learning a class of random unitary channels on orthogonal unitary bases on a quantum computer utilizing Pauli learning and a contracted quantum learning procedure. Our approach involves a multi-objective, Pauli- and unitary-based minimization, and allows for learning locally equivalent channels. We demonstrate our approach for varying degrees of noise and investigate the scalability of these approaches, particularly with sparse noise models. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. The local least squares estimator for a regression curve cannot provide optimal results when non-Gaussian noise is present. Both theoretical and empirical evidence suggests that residuals often exhibit distributional properties different from those of a normal distribution, making it worthwhile to consider estimation based on other norms. It is suggested that Lp-norm estimators be used to minimize the residuals when these exhibit non-normal kurtosis. In this paper, we propose a local polynomial Lp-norm regression that replaces weighted least squares estimation with weighted Lpnorm estimation for fitting the polynomial locally. We also introduce a new method for estimating the parameter p from the residuals, enhancing the adaptability of the approach. Through numerical and theoretical investigation, we demonstrate our method’s superiority over local least squares in one-dimensional data and show promising outcomes for higher dimensions, specifically in 2D. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.
