In the digital age, image forgery is a significant concern due to advanced editing tools. This study addresses the need for reliable forgery detection, focusing on copy-move, splicing, and retouching techniques. Using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) known for learning hierarchical image features, the research developed a robust detection system. The CNN model, trained on a diverse dataset which has over 10,000+ images and it is split into test and train data for better classification results, detected subtle inconsistencies indicative of manipulation, achieving a peak accuracy of 94% over 50 training epochs. Test cases showed the system effectively detected forged images and identified forgery types, though it had shortcomings with invalid inputs. The CNN architecture employed convolutional and max-pooling layers with specific hyperparameters to enhance feature extraction. This paper offers a valuable tool for digital forensics experts, law enforcement, and journalists to ensure the authenticity of visual content. © 2024 IEEE.

Fault prediction is the process of using data analysis and machine learning models to anticipate potential defects or faults in the software system. Using only the base machine learning models for software fault prediction leads to limited performance, difficulty in handling non-linear relationships and imbalanced data, inadequate feature representation, and limited complexity handling. Hence, in order to overcome these challenges, this paper proposes a new technique for the selection of classifiers that forms a heterogeneous ensemble. The main goal is to remove or trim out the classifiers that show poor performance compared to the other base classifiers, which can result into a more effective ensemble and can produce better results. The algorithm proposed in this paper finds a set of classifiers that can perform better than using all the classifiers. The challenge that was faced was how to identify the poor-performing classifiers. This challenge is dealt with by performing an experiment using different threshold values to choose the trimmed set of classifiers. For evaluation of the proposed model, 8 different benchmark software fault datasets were used, which are taken from PROMISE and the Apache repository, and AUC is used as the performance measure. The results obtained after the experimental analysis demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm compared to the traditional approaches, which used all the base classifiers. There is a significant increase in the AUC values for 6 datasets out of 8, while using the average of probabilities and majority voting, it was seen that there is improvement in 7 out of 8 datasets used. The best-performing dataset by using the average of probabilities is ARC, where the AUC values increase from 0.6505 to 0.694, and while using majority voting, the best-performing dataset is XALAN, where the AUC values increase from 0.5455 to 0.679. The increasing need for high-speed internet for wireless devices has driven the development of 5G New Radio (NR) technology. The 5G NR operates in various spectrums such as sub-1 GHz, sub-6 GHz, and millimeter wave (mmWave) in the 26-28 GHz range. Conversely, the new standard Wi-Fi 6E operates on the unlicensed band and currently utilizes 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. The coexistence of 5G NR sub-6 GHz and Wi-Fi 6E networks can result in interference and reduced performance for both technologies. To address this challenge, we introduce a Multi-Task Learning (MTL) approach using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to improve the coexistence of 5G and Wi-Fi 6E networks. This proposes identifying and classifying packets transmitted and its modulation over both types of networks. The MTL-CNN model is trained to classify packets based on their type (e.g., 5G or Wi-Fi) and to identify the specific protocol used within each packet. We confirm the accuracy of this method with Wi-Fi and 5G signals produced by the MATLAB waveform simulator and subsequently deploy it on a hardware testbed using SDR. Our experimental results show that this method improves the accuracy of packet identification and classification, thus enhancing the coexistence between 5G and Wi-Fi 6E networks. MTL-CNN potentially leads to more efficient use of the wireless spectrum and improves the overall performance of wireless communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Both consumers and healthcare providers have benefited greatly from the quick development of software-based technology. Although telemedicine had been developing for a while, the covid-19 epidemic gave it the necessary kick. In order to facilitate social isolation, the pandemic made it necessary to expand virtual healthcare and distant therapy. Over the past year, the telemedicine market has experienced rapid expansion. The presented research paper investigates the development and performance of adaptive strategies for nonuniform fading patterns in dual-branch Maximal Ratio Combining systems. The study employs key enabling strategies, including power control, adaptive modulation, and antenna selection, with the purpose of improving the spectral efficiency and reliability of wireless communication systems. Conducting simulations in MATLAB and Python, this paper presents a comprehensive analysis using heatmaps, 3D surface plots, and dynamic simulation outputs to show the effect of the strategies under different Signal-to-Noise Ratios and fading conditions. The outcomes, illustrated in a clear-cut manner in the visuals, reveal that the adaptive strategies lead to a drastic reduction in the Bit Error Rates and a more optimal distribution of power across the branches, ensuring highly effective performance even in the case of the most challenging non-uniform fading patterns. Ultimately, the research findings show sight into the necessity of adaptive strategies to ensure proper coverage and quality of communication in non-uniform fading conditions, which novel research could benefit from. © 2024 IEEE.

There has been a growing excitement that implicit graph generative models could be used to design or discover new molecules for medicine or material design. Because these molecules have not been discovered, they naturally lie in unexplored or scarcely supported regions of the distribution of known molecules. However, prior evaluation methods for implicit graph generative models have focused on validating statistics computed from the thick support (e.g., mean and variance of a graph property). Therefore, there is a mismatch between the goal of generating novel graphs and the evaluation methods. To address this evaluation gap, we design a novel evaluation method called Vertical Validation (VV) that systematically creates thin support regions during the train-test splitting procedure and then reweights generated samples so that they can be compared to the held-out test data. This procedure can be seen as a generalization of the standard train-test procedure except that the splits are dependent on sample features. We demonstrate that our method can be used to perform model selection if performance on thin support regions is the desired goal. As a side benefit, we also show that our approach can better detect overfitting as exemplified by memorization. © 2024 Proceedings of Machine Learning Research. All rights reserved.

One in every four cancer cases in women is breast cancer, which is the most prevalent malignancy in this group globally. In 2020, breast cancer will account for one in every eight new instances of cancer, according to projections of 2.3 million new cases. Breast cancer identification, both early and accurate, is critical to improve patient outcomes and survival rates. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has developed as a valuable method for diagnosing breast cancer. Deep learning algorithms, notably convolutional neural networks (CNNs), have demonstrated exceptional effectiveness in a variety of medical image processing applications, including breast cancer classification. The ResNet-50 architecture has received a lot of interest in this context because of its excellent performance in image recognition tasks. ResNet-50 is a deep residual network that introduces skip connections and residual learning to solve the difficulty of training very deep neural networks. A total number of 1480 cancer MRI samples are collected from the Kaggle database, having two classes, which include healthy and malignant scans. It is observed that our proposed model with the data pre-processing techniques has achieved a classification accuracy of 92.01%. © 2024 IEEE.

In the fields of software engineering, the maintenance phase takes the most effort. software Module Clustering (SMC), as a part of reverse engineering, is used for the purpose of creating structural models from the source code enhancing its comprehensibility. Finding the best clusters is an NP-hard problem. The method of software module clustering aims to extract the best clusters, which involves Increase cohesion and reduce coupling. This re-search addresses a set of problems with the aim of solving them, which are drawback found in most previous studies. This paper adopts three main methods to solve software Modules Clustering problem (SMCP), a Teaching-Learning-Based-optimization (TLBO) algorithm, a Black Widow optimization (BWO) algorithm, and the third is a hybrid algorithm combining the previous two methods. These algorithms were used to cluster software modules and were evaluated based on MQ (Modularity Quality), cohesion, coupling, and stability. To determine the optimal number of clusters for each reference program, the Louvain algorithm is used, which works on detecting communities in networks. The study also experintly examined the impact of the chaos, random, Lorenzo methods in the initial generation of solutions on the quality of the results and stability. Considering the results of the experiments conducted on eight standard applications, the hybrid algorithm performs better in SMC problems than the TLBO and BWO. The performance of these algorithms also improves significantly, when their initial populations are generated using the logistic Lorenz and Chaos method rather than a random one. 6.644548537, 6.318318013, and 4.375766992 are the average MQ of the clusters that were formed for the selected casses set using the Hybrid method, BWO, and TLBO, respectively.

Our work, 'SafeSync' proposes a complete safety and monitoring system aimed to address the considerable hazards encountered by two-wheeler users, such as accidents and rash driving scenarios. Unlike other systems, SafeSync combines powerful technology such as ESP32, GPS, and GSM with an innovative application of machine learning methods. This system specializes in detecting and alerting to accidents, tracking vehicles in real time, and identifying risky driving behaviour. SafeSync goes beyond traditional safety measures by not only identifying ongoing accidents but also forecasting potential events. This predictive feature enables the system to proactively inform users or authorities in advance, assisting in the prevention of accidents. The Flutter-built dedicated mobile app serves as a user-friendly interface, offering real-time updates on the vehicle's status and location. The program also allows users to customise monitoring settings and add parental restrictions. By actively recognizing and warning users to dangerous practises, SafeSync strives to improve rider safety and promote responsible driving behaviour.
