The rapid advancement of Blockchain technology has led to its widespread application in several domains of digital activities, such as e-government concerns and monetary security. This article presents a smart contract-based Blockchain solution for protecting intellectual property rights in new product development. The proposed solution effectively tackles the challenges associated with the confidentiality of personally identifiable information, efficiency in storing transaction-related information, as well as cooperation and monitoring in IPR. Initially, we create a mathematical model based on smart contract enabled Blockchain and intelligent contracts. Subsequently, we develop algorithms for Blockchain generation, and intelligent contracts. The system is suitable for protecting IPR in a blockchain network, by implementation of distributed identity authentication and real-time extensible storage. These features enhance the security and expandability of circuit copyright protection based on blockchain technology. The experimental results demonstrate that the suggested algorithm has decreased the cost for communication and enhanced the effectiveness of storing information and administration. Furthermore, it demonstrates resilience against many common attacks such as double-spending assaults, while maintaining low cost and overhead. Additionally, it exhibits a superior level of security in comparison to three other competing algorithms. © 2025 IEEE.

With the explosion of data, Wireless Edge Caching (WEC) has become a promising approach for locally accessing cached contents. Due to the limited storage capacity of local caching devices and the varying preferences of humans for content, it is necessary to predict popular contents. In this article, we will address two distinct objectives: 1) Popularity prediction of the content that should be cached at the edge to effectively utilize edge device memory. 2) Edge devices collaboration for efficient content delivery. Accordingly, we propose an FL-based Star Cooperative Caching (FedStar Caching), utilizing a Star network topology for realizing an efficient cooperation among Femto-cell Access Points (FAPs) using a Decision Center (DC) to enhance power efficiency and delay performance. Considering human sensitivity to privacy, collecting users’ data on a central server is not desirable, therefore, we leverage Federated Learning (FL) to alleviate this challenge. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms alternatives in terms of cache efficiency, as well as delay and power consumption.

Swarm intelligence and evolutionary algorithms are widely applied in industrial scheduling, mobile edge computing, etc due to their strong robustness and fast optimization speed. However, some real-world industrial optimization problems involve numerous decision variables, known as high-dimensional problems. Current algorithms often require considerable computational resources to evaluate objective function values because of high-dimensional decision spaces. Moreover, they are also prone to be trapped in local optima. To solve the above problems, this work proposes an improved algorithm named Surrogate-assisted Multi-class Collaborative Teaching and learning optimizer (SMCT). A multi-class collaborative teaching and learning optimizer is proposed as a base optimizer to improve exploration and exploitation abilities. Furthermore, an autoencoder-assisted radial basis function is proposed as the surrogate model to replace true function evaluations, thereby saving computational resources and balancing the complexity and accuracy in fitting true models. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that SMCT surpasses its existing peers in both search accuracy and convergence speed across eight high-dimensional benchmark functions. © 2024 IEEE.

The article analyzes the four main types of blockchains. These are open (public), closed (private), hybrid, and consortium. The latter two simultaneously and to varying degrees have characteristics of both open and closed. Their advantages and disadvantages are defined. However, the variety of platforms that cannot be accurately classified as a specific type of network makes it difficult for users to choose the appropriate one when sharing a given data stream. Therefore, a SWOT analysis of the two main types of chains - closed and open - was made to determine their advantages, disadvantages, threats, and opportunities. It was found that the main difficulty in choosing a type of blockchain is the constantly changing legislative framework. Furthermore, an appropriate platform can be selected according to the specifics of the material flow, privacy, security, quantity, speed, and others of data transmission.

Advances in intensive care have improved the survival rate of patients with severe acute brain injury, but diagnostic errors for patients with disorders of consciousness are still high. Accurate diagnosis of these patients is very important because effective treatment can vary depending on the diagnosis. In this study, we propose a framework for classifying unresponsive wakefulness syndrome and minimally conscious state, focusing on awareness. In particular, power spectral density and common spatial patterns were used together, considering that spatial information is a key feature in consciousness. The 16 patients with unresponsive wakefulness syndrome and 14 with minimally conscious state underwent resting-state electroencephalography measurements. In addition, we compared the performance by utilizing each frequency (delta, theta, alpha, beta, gamma bands) related to consciousness. As a result, the highest accuracy of 95.06% was achieved by the EEGNet classifier, especially in the beta frequency band. We demonstrated that spatial information is very important in consciousness, as we observed that classification performance improved when common spatial patterns were used. These results provide insight into various frameworks for diagnosing patients with disorders of consciousness and may help patients survive by increasing the diagnosis rate in the future. © 2025 IEEE.

We have developed a visual programming tool called SmrAI for function testing, and investigated whether wrapping existing source code with Scratch Blocks is an effective means of mitigating the shortage of programming personnel in the manufacturing. SmrAI is based on Smalruby, which can convert Scratch Blocks into Ruby code. In addition, SmrAI introduces two new sets of Blocks that wrap existing Ruby libraries for function testing. Since existing tools and libraries were utilized, the cost of developing SmrAI was low, and there were no changes in the function testing procedure. We conducted a verification test using staff members who were familiar with the function testing process but had little or no programming experience, and confirmed that they were able to program using SmrAI and that they had confidence in its business applications. These results are expected to contribute to the diversification and increase of programming personnel responsible for function test programming. © 2022 Japan Society for software Science and Technology. We propose and analyze a nonlinear dynamic model of continuous-time multi-dimensional belief formation over signed social networks. Our model accounts for the effects of a structured belief system, self-appraisal, internal biases, and various sources of cognitive dissonance posited by recent theories in social psychology. We prove that agents become opinionated as a consequence of a bifurcation. We analyze how the balance of social network effects in the model controls the nature of the bifurcation and, therefore, the belief-forming limit-set solutions. Our analysis provides constructive conditions on how multi-stable network belief equilibria and belief oscillations emerging at a belief-forming bifurcation depend on the communication network graph and belief system network graph. Our model and analysis provide new theoretical insights on the dynamics of social systems and a new principled framework for designing decentralized decision-making on engineered networks in the presence of structured relationships among alternatives. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Efficient waste collection is crucial to effective urban management, with far-reaching implications for environmental sustainability, public health, and overall quality of life in cities. As urban populations continue to grow, the demand for optimized waste management systems becomes increasingly critical. This study addresses the challenge of designing efficient waste collection routes using metaheuristic optimization techniques. Specifically, four different algorithms are employed to minimize route lengths, reduce operational costs, and improve the scalability of waste collection systems. These algorithms are rigorously evaluated in a variety of test configurations that simulate real-world scenarios. The results of the experiments reveal the strengths and limitations of each algorithm, providing valuable insights into their applicability for real-world waste management systems.

The impact of cyber security attacks increased globally, implementing proper security standards to protect data in the cyber environment has been prioritized, while assets are also at risk of being exploited through physical security breaches. Considering the potential risk of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards being lost or stolen, third parties can effortlessly gain the privileges of an authorized person. In this paper, we propose a design for a secure access control system that operates on an Android phone with multi-factor authentication to enable secure access control systems. For this purpose, the authorized users are registered in a database that can be accessed by the access control system when the user authenticates his$\backslash$her credentials with a login/password as well as biometric data from his$\backslash$her smartphone. This system works when the user is 10 meters away from the access control system, after that the user will be asked to submit his$\backslash$her biometric credentials. The database then compares the user’s keys and grants access if authentication is successful. This design is intended to reduce the number of cases in which unauthorized access to a restricted area. The observed results clearly meet the required security of physical access control systems.

Most financial lending systems in use today are based on a single service platform, transactions are opaque, and the majority of system participants can be tracked back to Mechanisms for protecting data privacy are not strong enough to withstand cyberattacks. We suggest lending over the block chain (LoC), a cutting-edge finance and credit facility built on smart contracts on a block chain hyper ledger fabric, as a solution to these problems. We use the poverty level for Chinese loans as an example. We create a digital accounting model to transfer assets between decentralized and centralized ledgers and suggest smart contract closing and unlocking methods. To safeguard the privacy of data, we established digital signatures and oracles. The opening rule's and the chain rule's performance evaluation demonstrates the applicability of our system in actual loan situations.
