In recent years, the surge in electric vehicle (EV) adoption stems from environmental concerns and a shared effort to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. EVs present a sustainable transportation solution for developing nations like Bangladesh. Despite a current reliance on natural gas for vehicles, rising demand in electricity generation and industries diminishes the supply for compressed natural gas (CNG)-driven vehicles. To address this, embracing EVs becomes essential, although it strains the existing electrical energy supply in Bangladesh. To tackle the energy demand associated with EVs, a study explores a solution: a charging station along Chittagong's Kaptai Highway powered by a 13500 kWp floating solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The implementation considers crucial factors like location, system parameters, shading characteristics, and performance ratio. PV syst software aids in the comprehensive analysis of these factors, ensuring the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed solar PV system for supplying energy to EVs. This innovative approach aligns with global efforts to promote sustainable transportation while addressing the challenges posed by increasing energy demands in developing countries.

In modern data communication system Error Detection and Correction has great practical importance to maintain the data integrity across the noisy channel. To deal with this challenge, the theory of Error detection and correction need to get one's precise attention. To retrieve the original data, an efficient process is required. A class of error correcting codes which performs iterative decoding inside a graph is considered which can provide a good approximation. In this context Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code comes with an excellent error correction performance. In this paper architecture and algorithms for Error Detection and Correction method based on LDPC code is proposed. In order to guarantee the quality of induction hardened steel materials, it is necessary to evaluate the hardening dept. of the surface layer of the hardened steel materials. There are differences in electromagnetic properties such as hysteresis magnetization curves and electrical conductivity between the hardened and unhardened layers of induction-hardened steel. Therefore, a small electromagnetic sensor of a pen shape that uses these differences in electromagnetic properties to estimate the hardening dept. was investigated. In this paper, the usefulness of the proposed small sensor was evaluated through a three-dimensional finite element (3-D FEM) analysis using a play model by comparing it with experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, when the single-arm pantograph is applied as a single current collecting method, the interface problem between the contact wire and the pantograph was derived and the cause of this was considered. In the case of a test driving of a new urban railway vehicle consisting of a single-arm pantograph (3 units) as a single current collecting method, arc melting damage to the contact wire and pantograph occurred due to a contact loss. On the other hand, when the parallel current collecting method was applied and the single arm pantograph was tested 4 times, it satisfies within 1% of the allowable standard for the contact loss rate. Based on these results, it is suggested that the parallel current collecting method is suitable for the pantograph of an urban railroad vehicle operating on the DC rigid bar. The weight lifting is defined as any activity requiring the use of human force to lift or move a load which can be potentially harmful of onsetting work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility of four tree-based Machine Learning (ML) models - fed with time-domain features extracted from signals acquired by means of one inertial measurement unit (IMU) - to classify safe and unsafe postures during weight lifting. Inertial signals -linear acceleration and angular velocity - acquired from sternum of 4 healthy subjects were registered using the Mobility Lab system. The signals were manually segmented in order to extract for each region of interest, corresponding to the lifting, several time-domain features. Four tree-based predictive models - namely Decision Tree, Random Forest, Rotation Forest and AdaBoost Tree - were implemented and their performances were tested. Interesting results in terms of evaluation metrics for a binary safe/unsafe posture classification were obtained with accuracy values greater than 93%. In conclusion the present study indicated that tree-based ML models fed with specific features were able to discriminate safe and unsafe posture during weight lifting using only one IMU placed on the sternum. Future investigation on larger cohort could confirm the potential of the proposed methodology. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a wire condition inspection system was developed using a high-speed camera and a spectrometer to inspect the state of diamond wire used in the cutting operation of a rocket motor in real time. During the cutting process, there is a risk that the propellant inside the rocket motor may be ignited due to excessive frictional heat of the diamond wire and sparks caused by wire breakage. At low speed, it is possible to measure wire wear using a high-speed camera and spectrometer, and at high speed using a spectrometer. Using the results of this paper, it is expected that it will be very usefully applied to the performance evaluation of guided munitions. Copyright © The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.

Due to the rapid growth of Internet-based services, the access to these services has quickly become one of the most critical goals. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) allows content providers, application developers, and information technology services to be performed at the mobile network's edges, rather than at the network's core. This paper demonstrates how to take use of MEC technology and provide excellent performance to public networks in data cache. As a result, response time (latency) will be reduced significantly, network bandwidth will be enhanced, and Quality of Experience (QoE) of end user will improve. © 2022 IEEE.

Leaf diseases identification and sorting are essential responsibilities in crops, and they pose a significant challenge in today's agriculture and food processing environments since they affect crop inputs and yields. A more accurate and timelier prognosis of agricultural leaf diseases could aid in the creation of an immediate corrective method, greatly reducing economic and production losses. Deep learning technical developments have enabled investigators to significantly improve the performance and accuracy of object identification and recognition systems. The primary objective is to establish how to come up with a more applicable neural network framework for the stated duties. In the present article, we put forward the use of a convolutional neural network (CNN) approach for detecting crop leaf diseases in an assortment of plants employing images taken from plant leaves. As a result, it is able to appropriately assess the detection and classification processes. The proposed crop leaf disease forecasts include four stages: preprocessing to enhance and shrink images using the contrast stretching approach;segmentation using k-means clustering technique;feature extraction and classification using convolutional neural networks. Following that, we detected and displayed in the conversation box several segmentation features, classifier performance metrics, and statistical and structural features of the anticipated disease type. Finally, the acquired findings were compared to existing methodologies, and it was determined that the proposed plant disease prediction method is both accurate and efficient. © 2023 IEEE.

Considering the large-scaled field of mountain rescue, a hybrid self-organized network architecture is developed for multi-hop data delivery against weak network connectivity in challenged areas. UAVs and wireless nodes can self-organize unstructured multi-hop networks to distribute urgent and recuse messages in geographic proximity. To seek lost climbers efficiently, this architecture provides two search methods. (1) In a passive method, climbers send messages via MQTT protocols to neighbor nodes that will further forward messages to the cluster head of a self-organized network. (2) In an active method, UAVs hover over disjoint cluster heads to store, carry, and forward messages, and UAVs are equipped with cameras to perform face recognition of detecting target users. All the messages and camera-initiated video streaming can be passed through self-organized networks and then displayed on the rescue website. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a reinforcement-learning-based adaptive sliding mode controller (RLASMC) is proposed to achieve more precise tracking control in robotic manipulator systems with nonlinear friction, modeling errors, and external disturbances. In this controller, a robust term is designed to compensate for the external disturbance, system uncertainty, and joint friction. Furthermore, the dynamic information of the robotic manipulator is employed as input to a reinforcement learning agent, enabling the agent to optimize the parameters of the sliding mode controller within a continuous action space. Simulation studies are implemented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller. © 2023 IEEE.
