This work proposes a design of a single band four input four output (4×4) butler matrix (BM) without a crossover, operated at 6.5 GHz. The proposed BM is structured with 3-dB quadrature couplers and 45° phase shifters. Hence, unlike the traditional BM, the proposed BM has a compact size of 1.5λ g × 1.43λ g . Moreover, it is easy to fabricate at a low cost because of its simple, compact, and single-layer design. The proposed BM provides ±45° and ±135° phase difference at the output ports based on input ports excitation. Impressive amplitude performance is obtained at 6.5 GHz with a maximum amplitude imbalance of ±1.28 dB. The proposed BM shows measured reflection loss and isolation better than −25 dB and −30 dB, respectively, which makes the design suitable for beamforming applications.

In this ongoing work, we have designed a drone that is controlled by a wireless transmitter, utilizing the Pixhawk flight controller to ensure smooth and stable flight operations. Additionally, the drone features a camera for capturing aerial images and videos. The custom-built drone is capable of flying and detecting objects through a camera frame. We have incorporated the powerful YOLOv8 object detection algorithm for accurate object detection. The final results showcase drone-based object detection with high accuracy in milliseconds.

Haptic feedback in telepresence applications is vital for remote task performance and object manipulation. To maximize telepresence capabilities, haptic systems need to be integrated with immersive telepresence interfaces such as virtual reality, which offer benefits such as improved spatial awareness and operator mobility. Compatibility with the mobility of these systems and their built-in optical hand tracking require low-profile wearable interfaces. Further, for full functional benefits, haptic systems must be able to elicit spatially congruent sensation without impeding operator movement and physical object interactions. In this paper, we describe the design of a lightweight, compact, and adaptable surface electrical nerve stimulation-based haptic interface. We demonstrate its capacity to consistently generate spatially congruent sensation on the all five fingertips without occlusion, as well as its compatibility with headset-based optical hand tracking.
