EMI conducted noise is becoming increasingly important in power conversion systems, and various analysis methods are being researched. The proposed method enables accurate EMI conducted noise analysis by extracting partial element equivalent circuits from the 3D structure of power cables and PCBs, and the extracted model can be interpreted in SPICE simulations. The implemented inverter operation mode of Totem-Pole bridge-less PFC in the EMI conducted noise analysis simulation model shows a good correlation between simulation results and experimental results in all CE bands. Furthermore, this method identifies the main causes of EMI noise through CM (Common Mode) and DM (Differential Mode) noise analysis, and proposes a method to effectively attenuate EMI noise through CM coil modeling. Therefore, the EMI conduction noise analysis method using simulation models allows for efficient prediction of EMI conduction noise in advance. Copyright The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.

An MPC controller is proposed to maximise the use of renewable energy in a manufacturing process. The strategy has been applied in a manufacturing system which has several machines, renewable generation resources, a combined heat and power (CHP) generator for power production, and a battery bank for energy storage. The work aims to maximise the use of renewable energy sources in this process, also taking into account the price of the electricity market, to reduce the cost. The use of neurofuzzy models for the prediction of the energy produced by renewable generators allows a dynamic prediction, using input values obtained from typical forecasting variables (wind speed, global irradiance, etc.).

This work considers the synthesis of state feedback controllers established as deep artificial feed-forward neural networks for the control of discrete-time nonlinear but input-affine systems. The idea is to design output layers of particular structure to guarantee the satisfaction of state constraints in form of control-invariant ellipsoids. Since an analytical expression can be derived for the resulting neural network controller, the latter can be stored and evaluated efficiently. Moreover, the proposed output layer guarantees the satisfaction of the considered state constraints for each specification of the parameter vector. Numerical examples are provided for illustration and evaluation of the approach, in which the approximation of a nonlinear model predictive control law is considered as application.
