As the Internet has been growing, WWW(World Wide Web) based services have become more popular, and the number of those using the service has increased excessively. To support these services, the processing of many transactions has become essential in the Internet. There are many researches regarding user profiling on web services to support those transactions effectively. Most of them are just for grasping the customer's preferences. However, the user's role on a recent web service is not limited. It is not fixed what they are doing among users;consumers could become providers and also providers could become consumers on virtual online environments such as the open market of the Internet. For this reason, it is necessary to inspect preference of both the consumer as well as the provider. In addition, the traditional service lacks of representing of various provider's preferences. In this paper, we proposed a Personal Preference Tree (PPT) to reflect the preferences for providers then implemented the module applied to the web service. Likewise, we evaluated the applicability and the performance of the personal preference module through simulations.

This study focused on how to enhance the interactivity and usefulness of augmented reality (AR) by replacing the fixed AR recognition card with manipulative interactive tools. A manipulative augmented reality (MAR) system, which included 3D interactive models and manipulative aids, was designed and developed to teach the unit "Understanding Weather" in a natural science course, and to bridge a formal learning environment (i.e., school), non-formal (i.e., at a museum), and informal learning environments (i.e., home).

This study discloses the scope of services innovation of the case company, to understand how to proceed with the service of science, technology and services to construct value chain of Synvision technology. The results of the entire interview by the following four points: (1) The value chain of services science, including core management structure, Eservice management, quality certification and authentication services. (2) 5S for the management of core organizational culture perspective. This article according to the composition concept of System on Chip (SoC), carries on the patent analysis in U.S and Taiwan. The article had recognized SoC international patent classification (IPC) in national, owner's distribution by the objective statistical analysis. It had understood the SoC technological development's process, also clearly observe research and develop organization's possible structure of the patent owners. Findings discovery are: 1. The SoC technology's development is at present in the growth period of the front. 2. The U.S has the constitutive design and reliable confirmation technical lead in the SoC technology's development, i.e. system on chip application plan ability. 3. Taiwan has the outstanding lead in SoC chip's manufacture and spare part conformity processing technology. 4. In SoC technology research and development output, the major part was the research and development team joint effort achievement, only had the few parts was concentrated in the specific inventor. © 2010 IEEE.

A competent labor force is the most important asset in business. The development and management of human resource has emerged as a critical factor in creating and maintaining the competitive strength of an enterprise. The HR practitioner should be an enterprise partner playing a key role in the company. Upon the global financial crisis, begun since the end of 2008, lay offs and reduced staff in personnel became the norm, and the duties of the human resource practitioners experienced increased challenges in labor related issues. This study aims to provide new views on the competencies required by HR practitioners in Taiwan for facing future challenges. Based on literature review, this survey applies the Delphi method to obtain the views of HR executives regarding the required competencies of HR practitioners in Taiwan. The findings establish an empirical basis for a framework that can guide the direction and content of future developments of HR practitioners in Taiwan. © 2010 IEEE.

This study focuses on the issue of how kanji learners mentally "deconstruct" a kanji as they view it and how they may update this visual deconstruction over time as they learn kanji. The research problem deals with the question of whether or not an innovative kanji learning approach, the "Learner's Visualization (LV) Approach", assists learners in significantly updating their personal kanji deconstruction visualization (which refers to how the learner visually divides a given kanji into smaller, manageable parts). With the LV Approach, in contrast to other kanji learning approaches, kanji learners themselves decide which way to divide a kanji into smaller parts, allowing them to thus choose the complexity level and number of parts of that particular kanji according to their personal visual cognition. To support the analysis of the kanji visualization process, we developed a kanji learning support system based on the LV Approach. The analysis of our results proves the existence of the positive effect of using this novel approach in kanji learning;learners progressively move towards visually dividing kanji into fewer and fewer blocks. ©2009 IEEE.

The era of the 21st century is the emerging knowledge-based economy, with the rapid growth and popularity of information technology and the Internet, the use of digital tools to enhance the learning outcomes had been more common. Therefore, learners in the digital learning status also were lack of interaction and discussion among others, including teachers and other learning participants. According to this condition, flipped teaching was raised to enhance learning outside the classroom. This study aims to understand the application of the conventional flipped teaching to supplement classroom teaching, the understanding of their implementation procedures, key factors and the effectiveness of learning and teaching strategies to develop a flipped teaching model. Literatures were explored to analyze the status regarding flipped learning. Invited teachers who implemented flipped teaching had participated in-dept. interviews for teaching practice. Then, questionnaires were conducted to investigate the students' abilities learned after the teaching material flipped. The data of interviews and questionnaires were analyzed and discussed. The further conclusions and recommendations were made to be the reference of future research and practitioners.

Citizen science initiatives offer an informal way to encourage the general public to engage in science learning, and contributes to the development of a more stable supply of science professionals by arousing volunteers’ enthusiasm for a science career. This study aimed to identify the contribution that science service makes to volunteers’ experience and the influence it has on the relationship between their experience and beliefs, and on their eventual career orientation. This study tested the effect of social cognitive variables on volunteers’ career interests in science using Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). The sample consisted of 241 volunteers taking part in a science volunteer project which is administered by the Ministry of Science and technology in Taiwan. We used structural equation modeling (SEM) and PROCESS Macro 4.1 to test the structural relationships and mediating hypotheses proposed in this study. Building on the SCCT, our findings indicated that self-efficacy in science service, satisfaction with science service, and social support are contributing factors to the science volunteers’ career interest in a scientific profession. This study adds to the SCCT literature by clarifying how a volunteer-based citizen science initiative as an informal science learning platform may affect the participants’ career decisions. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2023. Purpose Experience learning has become a trend in educational activities in Taiwan. All colleges and universities offer experiential learning in for-credit courses, and have applied it in educational practice and academics. This study is an exploration of experiential education. Enhancing students’ character through experience is a mode in which educational organizations are operating. The sharing of game teaching plans is an inspiration for students' character education. Because experiential learning provides a positive teaching strategy, learners can reflect on life and the environment through the personal experience, learn the educational training methods accumulated by knowledge, and improve their ability. The learners understanding and emotions gained from personal experience and reflection, because the life experience is transformed after the reflection of the learning process, providing the re-use of knowledge, forming a life experience, and re-reflecting the transformation of the learning process, and improving the level of knowledge application. And once again form a life experience for learners. Effective teaching should encourage learners to reflect experience and build a learning environment. College graduates are about to enter the workplace. Therefore, it is necessary to cultivate this group of future leaders. How to give students have the conviction to face the changes in the future environment is the core concept of this research. This study will focus on the construction of a character belief index in vocational education. Through experiential education for teaching method, teachers cultivate the research tools of the character belief index that the college students can take, and clarify the connotation and type of its indicators.
